There is no snow, there is no salt, therefore, cars last forever. :(

There might be salt. After all, Cuba is near the ocean. I remember when we were in California on the coast, cars rotted from the top down from salt in the air. Here, with salt on the ground, they rot from the bottom up. If you lived in California where there was coastal fog, you were sure to get salt damage unless you kept your car in a garage.

Hmmnn..... minimal salt, then, because salt does not evaporate. Residue from salt-water splashing would do it, though, because it doesn't take much. And driving on the beach would be a nasty.

In California, the fog has salt in it, and cars parked in your driveway got salt rot. They didn't need to be splashed by salt water. It was in the air when it was foggy.

Good morning peeps. Anniversary Blend coffee is available. I thawed out a loaf of banana bread. It's in the kitchen...have some real butter on that:)

Of course I have lots to do today. It will not be windy so I may get to burn some yard duff. I need to make burger buns. The goat pen could use a barrow full of duff removed.

Only 32 degrees out so I may try to water again. Yesterday I got some watering done but the lines were frozen in a couple of areas so no go on watering there.

Wouldn't you know it! I'm ready to buy a harness and someone at the mini website pm's me and says she got hers for half the price by going through an Amish shop that has no website but does have a catalog I can have sent to me. She sent photos, too. It looks nice and it is of Betathane. I'm calling for the catalog today.

It's always good (though sometimes more confusing) to have more options.

Yes, there are too many options:)

This is a good lead for me because she sent me good pics and info and she liked the shop. She has lots of minis and a number of harnesses. A referral makes a difference.

Bread is rising and outside work is moving right along here.

Are you tutoring today, SandySu?

No, that's tomorrow.

This morning, I went out to breakfast with my friend Mariah. Then we came back to my house to look at the new clippers I bought. I need to take them to the barn and accustom Penny to them before sometime in May, when I'll want to clip her. They are fairly quiet, but they do make a buzzing sound. I wonder if that'll frighten her at first or if she'll ignore it completely. You never can tell with Penny. Just what I think will bother her is ignored, and what I assume will be OK sends her into a tizzy. All these years I've known her, and I still can't predict such things. The only thing I've learned is that you never can tell.

I Might've been persuaded to wear a poodle skirt if I had been asked to a sock hop! I wish I had a (I think) 57 Bel Air.

And I LOVE the muscle cars from the 60's.

I would love to have a fully restored 65 mustang and I really want to have a 69 camaro

First car that I ever drove was my Father's 65 Mustang. But, the first car that I owned was a '70 Camaro - Shadow Gray

And then, there's this:

Good Afternoon Voltville. :)

Are those photos of you?

I was never lucky enough to have either. My mom used to sew most of my clothes, and I remember begging for a poodle skirt in maybe 5th grade or so. The best I managed were saddle shoes. I don't know why (but I suspect finances had something to do with it), but my mom never bought me the latest fad, or she held out till it was passe, then got it for me.

The poodle skirt was before my time but wearing dresses to school no matter how cold it was in my past. They finally relented and let us wear pants under our skirts if it was really cold.

My favorite car that I owned was a beautiful blue '72 Caro with rocket tail lights. I loved that car.

My first car was a Dodge Dart with push button transmission.

Yeah - Those are both pics of me. My Mother made matching poodle skirts for both of my sisters and me. They were entirely made of felt. Can't exactly wash that stuff, I don't think.

Finances will definitely interfere with kids wanting to follow trends. That's not such a bad thing in my opinion. It forced me to learn to sew. I hated the saddle shoes and would only wear white Keds (that were never white at all) for years.

You could wear 'em under your skirts? We weren't allowed to wear pants at all until I was in 7th grade. We've come a long way.

My cars were almost always Camaros or Firebirds until I started touring. Well, actually, I didn't buy a minivan until after I'd been showing for a couple of years. Blew up my tranny hauling all of that stuff in and on top of a Bird.

I remember (again, about 5th grade, I think) wearing tights under dresses to school. We never wore pants under dresses.

Oh, yes. I also remember walking to school and wearing snow pants when it was cold. I think my skirt was scrunched up inside them, and when I got to school, I took off the snow pants and hung them up with my jacket.

My '70 Camaro was a dark blue, 3 speed manual floor shift. I drove standard shifts until 1990, when I decided to give automatics a try.

Hi Rave and the gang !!!!!
