I love watching SteelJan's vids as well. Her review of the Volt is what clinched it for me, it's why I purchased the kit to begin with. She is crazy smart and she has a way of making everything simple and easy to understand.
Very cool lady.
That she is. I got a little worried for awhile cuz we haven't seen her here. Then I found out she's been spending a lot of time helping people out in the newbie forum. How cool is that? :)

I've had several birds, the only one that liked to bite was the conure. He loved rose hips, so I would take him out in the yard on my hand to get some for him. They were all the way at the back of the yard and he was a very impatient bird! He would look at me, squawk and then nip my finger. I'd shake my finger at him and tell him he was a bad boy. That just made him rear back, squawk and nip my finger again. He only stopped when we got to the rose bushes and I picked a rose hip for him. He was a great bird though and never actually drew blood. lol

Oh man - parrot beaks can hurt! He didn't ever try to fly away? If it were me, I wouldn't have let him have the rose hips until he told me he was sorry.

When I was in my early twenties I had a toco toucan. He was extremely smart (not as smart as a parrot though) and he was affectionate as well. However - that's not necessarily a great thing to have in a pet toucan. Toucans show affection by "billing" with each other. Schnoz had a 10" beak serrated like a steak knife. The only "bill" that I had was my nose. You get the picture. This was Schnoz:

The only picture I ever got of him was done professionally for a PCB design system brochure cover.

Please boys and girls go over there and put your thumbs up.

This is awful! I can't believe how cruel people can be sometimes! I was totally unaware of any problems, since I rarely go anywhere on ECF but here, but thanks for alerting us all, Konstantine!

Also, it brings home how nice everyone is here. Thank you all, for being so easygoing and fun.

My husband kept his wing feathers clipped just enough that he could fly, but not real high nor far. He never did fly off my hand though when I took him outside. Once there was a robin on the clothes line and I set Charlie (the conure) on there. Instead of flying he ran across the clothes line to chase the robin away.

We didn't know about it at the time we got him but found out later he was a wild bird and it was illegal to sell them here. My husband had to tame and gentle him wearing a heavy leather glove. He got over the biting but the lite nipping remained. He was a bit of a bully, but was affectionate and a real character.

I just saw steeljan's video and I am furious, as angry as it's possible for me to get. Anyone who sends hate mail to this fine, generous and knowledgeable lady is about as low as a person can get.

My heart goes out to her. She is such a nice person and tries to help all of us with vaping information. I intend to go to her youtube channel and do what I can there to support her.
