...that you can coat uncooked french fries with a little cornstarch for BAKING and they come out every bit as crispy and delicious as fried ones?

Yum, just learned this trick today! Eating some now! :)

Well that's one of the more intersting things I've heard all day. Thanx for letting us in on it. But are't they "French Bakes" then?

I've been in the flooring business since 1963 until a couple of years ago except for a couple of excursions. Mostly self employed but I have hired out as a superintendent on several occasions. Woodworking has always been a hobby as well as an occupation.

I've always enjoyed working with wood as well, and hold carpenters (real ones) in high esteem. They seem to have the most well-rounded skill set of the building trades. I bet you can figure out how to make anything work out.
The most skilled guy I ever worked with, unfortunately had an unpredictable personality, and a fearsome and easily activated temper. I managed to get along with him well enough and learned a lot, but it's a relief to now have a more sedentary job. I haven't weathered the years and the hard physical labor as well as some.

You mean the frozen-type french fries? Or does it work on fresh-cut fries? OR BOTH??!!! that'd be awesome
Yep, either one!
But my big mistake was that I made loaded baked potato "bakes" (WUZZ) and am just now deciding that life's too short to not be eating BACON. So I'ma gonna get me some! So what does that make me now? A lacto-ovo-pesca-baca-tarian! :p I know, why bother, right?

I tend to look at a need or anything that doesn't work right as a challenge, sometimes to a fault. When my son was in elementary school a yo yo craze started and you couldn't buy them anywhere. He wanted one so bad I went out to my shop and built one lol. Went to a Cub Scout meeting a couple of nights later and heard a bunch of people discussing the shortage and the fact one kid's dad had made him one and they all wanted it. I kept my mouth shut or I'd have wound up making the whole school yo yos. It's my gift and I'm glad I discovered it early enough in life to be able to make a living at it.

Yep, either one!

Bacon, did someone say bacon?

Life's too short to be a vegetarian.

Anything but birds and mammals, pretty much...except bacon now!
lacto: dairy, CHEESE!
ovo: eggs
pesca: seafood
"baca:" BACON!
-tarian: that's the veggie part. Notice that it's all the way at the end!

hmmmm... thought you said you would eat chicken. Ah well, on to another question for everyone......

Who has both a Gold and Copper battery? I had ordered a Copper and received what looked to be Gold. The website picture made the Copper look brownish, like a copper penny. And I asked them to send me a Copper to replace the Gold and got another of the same. So is their version of Copper really my version of Gold and the picture is way off? I can't believe they'd send the wrong one twice, so this must be what they think of as copper :(. Rave, do you have both in your pictures?

I am going to return both of them and get something else cuz I really wanted Copper and this ain't it.

Star, do both of your gold/copper batteries have the rubberized finish? The copper ones do and the gold ones just have a painted metal finish, like the silver/chrome ones, but painted. I've got a copper and and it's dark, to me; I think of the color as "old gold", not red/brown like a penny.

Same as CatLady. I mentioned this earlier, that the rubberized finish, although called copper, looked to be more of an antique gold to me. The "gold" actually looks like a dull brass to me.

I only use the "gold" and "silver" batteries with wraps. The other colors I won't cover up their nice rubberized finishes and colors. I have a couple of the copper batteries, and although they are not the reddish brown penny color, I still like them.

Yeah they have the rubberized finish. Just wish the website picture had been more accurate, cuz I picked this based on that. This is definitely an old gold brass. They were sweet enough to send the placement without asking for the first one back, so even though this will now cost me postage, I don't feel right about keeping them - even if I had liked the color.

Good early morning, Volties.

We had to take Big Red (my Saturn) to the car hospital yesterday. She has some leaks under the hood. Hub told me to start shopping online for a new car. We bought Big Red new and I have been driving her for 15 years...so I guess it is time. One thing...my next car won't have a burn in the carpet where I dropped a cigarette and it won't smell like smoke.:D

Yay that is awesome news Megabee!! Lilac its sad when you lose a car u have grown fond of for so many years... But a new or newish car is going to be sooo good!
Semi nearly ... Well over 2 games that is hehe this year i have'nt dedicated enough training and consistency. I can still dream about it.
So i've been heating up the spa all day. Its a measly 8 deg here or 46 F. So chilly but really nice in the hot spa. I've been keeping it going just to get through winter and chems n tests are all excellent. But once we come out of winter its getting a water change and more usuage. Its just to expensive to keep it hot during our coldest month for the amount of time i want to use it. :( on a happier note i've been waiting a while to try these ce3's and cant wait till SI brings them in. Very very excited. !!
