Maybe, Mom quit in her late 40's after struggling with it years ... later started back and quit just before 60 for good. Ahe can be pretty stubborn about new stuff. She used the 7 day adventist program and One-step filters. She never preached to me about smoking tho, since she knows you cant lead a horse to water .... She has a bit of COPD, but she still plays in a Tennis league in her 70's & is very active for her age i think, so more power to her.

Sounds like our Mothers are a lot alike. Its GREAT that they are active.

Oddly enough, the only thing that works reliably for me is to get into gear and do some bending and stretching. So I did the laundry, played "Iron Chef" cooking some rice and chicken for Bo, then vacuumed the house. I was tired when I started so I don't feel any different now. I did take some ibuprofin though, sore arm from a wrenched tendon in the right ring finger.

I believe in motrin and Goody's. I'm glad that your kinks are getting worked out. Maybe alternating ice and heat will help your tendon atleast decrease the inflammation some. Glad that you are feeling better

i caught snakes and snapping turtles as kid... i knew how to get turtle by the tail and i could identify all the poisonous snakes... it drove my mom and dad nuts tho. Also every other person who saw me with a snake told me it was copperhead, lol. But i loved it as a kid. Up to 40 or 45 i was a bit of dare devil, just never considered i could die.

Anyway, I am glad u can still enjoy ur passions ... i grew up in Tennessee and lots of my friends/cousins had horses... i never really rode em enough to be comfy with em, but horse people truly amaze me. I had a best buddy in college, stop any fear of dogs i ever had. He told me he had 2 dobermans growing up. I asked weren't u afraid of them ...... He laughed and said "Afraid of a f*&king Dog, i am bigger than any dog", now my horses are way bigger & tougher than me and i cant show them i am afraid, so why should be afraid of a Dog."... Some of thats just bravado, but it also makes alot of sense. Again i never had horses, but i thought about and it made sense and in general i know most animals are more afraid of u than them. Tigars, Black Bears & Giant Moose i doubt i would be calm around, but u got to live ur life is my motto.

Most of my horses I've had since they were 3mos old they were PMU foals. Every yr I would take off three wks when they would get here and actually live with them during that transition phase and even sleep out there with them. I learned a lot. It was not uncommon when they bonded with me for me to wake up and one be standing over me and the others laying on every side.
I never get on the ground with my Rotts like that. When they were pups I did but not now its too dangerous I think. We have three and that makes a pack. We have a game of FB we play, I'm the QB lol,but to get down on the ground and play with all three no way. They help me with the horses a lot to make sure the drafts don't run over me and go in their stalls politely. Never have they been aggressive,I've never even heard them growl at the horses.

It's kinda funny because I am so accustomed to feeling sensations on my skin that aren't real (bugs crawling on my arms, legs, and scalp) so I simply ignored the pain at first. That's how I generally treat these sensations. But then it got really intense! So I looked down (sans eyeglasses) and saw a tiny dark speck. I thought it was a small bug, and I was reeeaaalllly impressed that such a tiny bug could bite so hard! It was actually just the stinger. The honeybee had pulled a kamikaze and was crawling away across the floor of the tent. I felt so bad for her.

I'll put my new "blog" up when I'm done camping. :)
Are you ok?

Good morning Volties!

Chuck - I will answer your PM when I'm not camping. 'Kay?

Right now, I am drinking coffee from the lid of a thermos by a burnt out campfire and vaping my X2's. I'm being entertained by a pair of green herons down at the creek. Life is sooo good. I did manage to get stung by a honeybee at about 11 p.m. That takes talent!

Ok thank you Rave ... u must be good if u can even post while camping, i can only do it on my pc ... i read ur alaska adventure and i was truly amazed today... have fun and watch out for the blackbears and honeybee's, Just happy to see u out having fun :)

I thought I would drop in and say hi. Doing well. Still vape free. Hope everyone is doing fine. :)

Congrates Sherlock, very very good !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like our Mothers are a lot alike. Its GREAT that they are active.

Yes, i agree, Sometimes its just not possible, but if u can stay Active its good... lol she amazes me.

You know, since I started vaping, I drink less coffee. I still love it, but because I am now drinking a lot more water, I have cut down on the coffee.

Awsum & Lilac, I also cut back on coffee, i used to make it all day long ... i think vap nicotine makes me more hyper than cig nicotine (& the cocktail of chemicals mixed with em), so i cut back on coffee too. ... Hope ur backs better now Awsum !!!

Just think how much if it were smokes.

yes, i look at every 30ml bottle as about $40 saved in the future. i got more juice in reserve than i kept in ciggys, but i got to mail order juice so that doesnt bother me. Anyway for me juice is my biggest cost and i havent got anything yet i cant vap yet so it all will get used. So i am happy.

I guess it's the unpredictability when animals get into the miix. I used to ride motorcycles but gave it up, traffic around here is too bad, or should I say drivers, but I still had some semblance of control. Just be careful, and never "assume", you know where that leads :)

I think we all take risks in order not to just sit at home. We hope that we have enough knowledge of the subject and are conscious of what can go wrong, but it wouldn't be living if we didn't do anything. I know I feel that way about riding, especially as I get older. Still, till I have to stop, I keep riding. I want to be as good a rider as I can and stay aware of the horse, but there's always that element of the unknown. This worries me more since Penny isn't 100% sound these days. Still, she can do a walking trail ride, and I think it's good for both of us to get out there and move a little in our twilight years, so till Penny gets too unsound to ride at all, we do it slowly and carefully. Even then, it worries me. But if Penny gets too lame to ride anymore, will I be happy not riding? I guess I'll just have to wait and see. When Penny was first lame, I tried riding other horses so I could pursue dressage, but none were Penny, of course, and I guess I'm a monogamous horse owner. I just never felt as safe and comfortable on other horses as my not-quite-sound Penny. BTW, I've had the vet assess what's wrong w/o going into lots of money and diagnostics, and it's most likely a complication of the clubfoot Penny has had all her life. I doubt there's anything at this late stage that can be done about it. So I continue to ride while we're both able, and when we can't, then Penny will get lots of attention and grooming and carrots. I can't afford another horse, and if I could, I don't know how I could replace Penny.

Wow!! So many "life" stories from everyone. What an adventurous bunch you all are!! Makes me feel really boring....I'm not very adventurous at all, wish I was different b/cos sometimes I feel like I'm missing out on a lot but then again, I'm very contented with just being a "watcher" and not a do'er.
Sandy said: "I think we all take risks in order not to just sit at home". I must be in the minority of that sentence, I avoid taking "risks" (unless its getting my kids to clean their rooms, now THAT can be some kinda funky experience!) lol

So this is where all the cool folks hang out? I thought all the threads up here were Imagines heads up threads and ones for the moaning groaning and complaining. I only read the last 100 or so posts but I will check back every now and then. Sometimes I get bored with always talking about vaping products and I'm glad there is a thread to share life stories.

Sitting down, facing forward.
I hang out here simply becuase the conversation rarely involves vaping and never seems to include tanks, coils, volts times amps, VV, mod or any of that stuff. Just a bunch of nice people sharing a little of their lives, enjoying each other company and helping each other stay off tobacco along the way.
