Thanks Wuz. Now my question is--How can we be sure its resolved? Uncle got nic poisoning and now 2tone. Isolated incidences? Accidents?
Or is it happening all over again?
Any idea where I can find any answers to my questions? Wonder if they make nic testing kits for a dummy like me,with KISS instructions.

They were a nicquid supplier and had a sister operation called Honeyville Vapor.

I'm pretty sure Gourmet Vapor also used their base and got banned from ECF. No telling how many others were using them as well. The disclaimers came flying out by the various juice vendors. I diy now and strictly use Wizzard Labs. RTS is also reputable. Both are trustworthy imo.

I seldom take pictures; I like to write my stories. Raven would much rather present her stories by the use of photos.

Sandy,they make an IUD for mares now. No joke it looks like an over sized marble.I watched my vet insert one the other day. Simple procedure and painless. You don't have to worry about the heat cycles. The only side effect is,that a mare may act like she is pregnant every once in awhile but that's very rare. Its been on the market about 5yrs now.
When I can slow down long enough I'm going to have it put in all my mares.My guys are all gelded but we have some idiots that live around here that have stallions and no mares.
Kicco,the respiratory infections you describe are very common. If one seems to be really stuffed up or if there is white thick drainage use vick's vapor rub in the edge of the nostrils like you would for a kid. Helps the sinuses to drain.ALSO alfalfa cubes are loaded with Vit C the greener the better. Guess my next question is, will the guy have a vet come out and look at them? My vet prescribes bactrim if the infection is serious. Just a suggestion here--keep your horses isolated from them and give them some alfalfa cubes to. Next question--have these horses been checked for strangles? Its very contagious.
Blues may know of more things you can do,that's all I can think of right off the top of my head.

wow. i never heard of iud's for horses before. so of course i looked it up. if i had a mare who needed regumate, i'd probably want to give it a try. but penny is always very sweet and tractable when she's in heat, and i'm leery of interfering with that. don' fix what ain't broken, they say. first, from what i read, you need a vet who knows the method. there's some danger of infection. you need to check and adjust the position of the marble with ultrasound. you need to use the correct size of marble or else it may be expelled. it sounds like it might be more costly and complicated than you made it sound. i'd be very interested in hearing about your friend's mare and how it works. they are looking into this and other long-term birth control methods for wild mustangs.

did you mention strangles in connection with that other mare's swollen nose? it's not. she has had this condition for at least the few months i've known her, and probably for some time before that. it's possible that the swelling is from the bad teeth i hear she has. i really don't know, but i think she's in pain and has been for a long time, so i hope the barn owner does something about it soon.

I've read about nicotine poisoning but what I read the symptoms (increased heart rate,dizziness) could also be a sign of other illnesses so my question is,Is there a definite symptom that alerts a vapor that they are ingesting too much nicotine?

Hi Raynes, Thanks for your concern. I see my VA doctor pretty regularly, but I didn't need him for this. It was my own stupidity that caused this and the symptoms I had were, migrane type headaches (I've never had a migrane but I've heard they're terrible), I never had headaches like this before, (No matter how drunk I used to get), the nausea and bathroom problems were the worst. The symptoms you mentioned were also included, plus stress, which was why I continued to use the product. It made me feel good. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!
