Oh, I also told him DD's is charging just fine on that charger,,,,,,so clearly, it's not the charger.

I can't imagine Jason not approving you,its a safety issue.I'm sure they will want to check it out. Don't re-charge it yourself though.

Holly, I would be sure to send that one back whether they want you to or not. They need to look at it just in case it has to do with the manufacturing. Sometimes we have to be our on advocates. I'm sure the owner of SI would appreciate your concern.
I don't know how SAFE it is to send back,,,,,,,,but maybe if it's deader than a door nail,,,, (how can a door nail be dead? it was never alive?

Holly, please tell me you used the cable to charge your X2 and not the USB dongle (that you would use for your 78s)...
and update, decided to save up for a cheapo Walmart crockpot (they have a PURPLE one for $16.88!) - I'm wasting too much gas only to find out that the freebie porch stashes have been picked clean!

I used the USB cord that came with the X2, silly LOL,,,,,,
the only thing 3rd party I used was a charger that you plug that usb into in the wall,,,,,,,I don't know the technical names,,,
and that charger had the right amps and volts,,,,,,,

You don't need to do that. I just worry too much.

I don't have a dongle for my 78mm anyway,,,,,,,it's just a tiny usb charger that you screw the 78mm batt into,,,,,,my X2 wouldn't have FIT in that LOL

Holly, you should stand your ground with CS. Jason's putting you in a dangerous situation by asking you to recharge, even though you've told him you've already tried that (or tell him you already have). It was defective from the get-go, and the warranty doesn't forbid use of a third-party AC adapter - just the USB dongle. Yeah, maybe it takes Imagine's magical intervention to get you a new one without having to fiddle with the defective one...but hold them to the warranty - you don't wanna set a precedent for the rest of us, do you?

I was told that or rather read that in one of Imagines posts back a month or so. I was asking about a Radio shack Charger that was 5 volt 2 amps that was only $4 and was told if it damaged the battery they would not honor the warranty, really, I wouldn't make something like that up cause I was about to buy 2 or 3 of them so I could charge more than one X2 at a time. I refuse to plug then into my computer as it's brand new and cost a small fortune.

the problem is the box says plug into ANY 2.0 compatible device. sigh. so my husband went out and bought one. I wish I'd asked first, it just didn't occur to me,,,,,,,,

on top of that is the confusion on which of SI's chargers to use,,,,,,
the box says 2.0, the site says 1.5 and the charger says 1.0-1.5,,,,,,,
like WHAT??? for a simpleton like me,,,,,,it's confusing. I didn't even think the SI charger I already OWNED was enough,,so I went out and bought another,,,,,,,THEN I find out that the SI charge IS the right one.

Nope - I got one, too.....actually two. My first X2 was a 900, working great for a bit then quit when I got my cone for it and put it on with a cartridge. I posted and got advice to lift the post....I did....it worked....then it didn't....lifted again....worked...then it didn't. Finally I emailed Heather and she said to send it back. Got a second, swapped for a 650 (which by the way I like much better - the 900 was too big for me I thought)....thing didn't work at all, it just blinked and blinked when charging, never got that bright glow either, and wouldn't charge. Contacted Heather, sent it back again, and this one works great - works with clearomizers and cartridge and the cone. I like the size much better, too. Took a bit, but I'm happy now. Hang in there. I know how disappointed you are, you were excited to get it now you have to wait another week or two. The CS at SI is great. They'll work with you.
Remember these products are good when they're good, but they're not that expensive and we all like that, too, but I think that leaves room for some duds sometimes. Hang in there, you'll get a good X2.
