Mornin all! Just a quick note b4 punchin in - anyone heard anything about heart trouble because of ecigs?
Co-workers heard from 2 people. One local had to quit. Of course diet all plays important part ... need to get to her email tonight to read on it.
Have a good day!

Hi Kicco, Nicotine DOES cause blood vessels to constrict HOWEVER if you read the studies that have been done and there are several independent studies that prove this, using ecigs per se does not cause heart problems. Genetics, diet, stress, exercise also plays a vital part in having a healthy heart. My Mother's cardiologist is the one who turned us onto ecigs. There are going to be Dr's that hate them and them that love them, then you know the analog companies are going to do all they can to have ecigs discredited.
There are also studies going on now and that I have been researching about the effects of nicotine on the autoimmune diseases such as RA and MS. So far what I have found out and its ironic that smoking (nicotine) they think is a contributing factor in people starting to get these diseases BUT what they are finding out is that once a person has MS,RA,Lupus, etc that nicotine SLOWS the progression of the disease.
To find out more just google nicotine and heart disease,or whatever, that's what I did. Your friends don't have to give up vaping they can use 0mg liquids if they think they need to stop nic liquids.

Rave,I hope you and Blues enjoyed your vacation. I've got to get in the bed,two of the grandkids wanted Furbies for Christmas luckily I didn't wait any longer for Toys R US in Tuscaloosa only had five left. I remembered Rave's Furby and got me one to.I named mine Salem.
THEN last night my co-worker and fellow vaper Scott gave me a Nano to try and let me try out his manual X2 needless to say I vaped myself into a stupor almost. Soooo I HAD to come home and cyber shop.
I hope its a slow night at work so I can vape and learn to talk Furby.
You ALL have a GREAT DAY !!!!!

Does yours look like this?

My mom gave this one to me back in 1999, maybe 2000, one time when I was down in the dumps about something. I still take it off the shelf sometimes when I need a quick laugh. I don't speak Furby, though.

Edited to add: Sorry the pic is upside down -- I didn't even notice it before.

Quitting smoking and switching to vaping I think has healed my body, because everything seems to be working really well now. But with me, I think the benefits came with the positive changes I made once I got my health back (eating healthier, exercising every day, etc.). Nic is nic, and thankfully (or not) vaping is less efficient at delivery than smoking (and you get none of the other bad stuff), and vaping safety is gonna depend on a lot of existing factors (genetics, health, sensitivities, etc.). It's a lot safer than smoking, but I don't think it's safe for everyone, even at 0mg. There's still talk of PG effects, flavoring chemicals, etc. One is that it can screw with the thyroid - screw up one hormone and it dominos to all the other ones, right? So eventually (as long as that chain of hormones might be), there could be an argument that it may be bad for your heart.

Vaping is great and it's worked for us, but I think we have to be careful about rationalizing it into a miracle cure-all for smoking. We still have to be vigilant and pay attention to our bodies. I think it would be better for me if I stopped, but dagnabbit, I'm hooked on the flavors now!

That said, hey, I'm at my high school weight now, except with more muscle! Considering I was borderline for hypertension and diabetes, I think that's pretty awesome! :thumb:

Raaveeennn!!! We really did miss you & Blues too. Its so wonderful that you two have bonded , it makes me melt with romance.
I dearly hope you two get to work something out.

We've been together since February of this year, so - yeah - We've bonded pretty darned well.

Rave LOL Im so sorry for laughing but how did your furby lose its mind?

I have no idea. Might have been from me keeping him in the pantry to shut him up. When I'd close the pantry door, it would be quiet for awhile. Then he'd say: "Hmmmm - BORING!" Open up the pantry door and he'd say: "PARTY!!"

Which is why I vape like there's no tomorrow! Plus, it quiets all of my neurological symptoms.

Mornin' all!

Hey Fishman!!!!! Good to see you again! :)

Mine looked something like that, only he had a dalmation fur pattern. AND he was generally right side up!

Exactly the way I think. Yes - It got us off of smoking, and there are many healthy side benefits; but we have yet to determine what the long term effects may be of inhaling PG, VG, and flavorings. We need to be vigilant for changes even long after we've started. I'm thinking it's probably healthier to just breathe air. Just sayin'. But, vaping is probably a heckuva lot healthier for us than smoking. I think ...

Well Volties,

I think as a relatively new member I finally have enough SI Toys to vape for awhile. My Black 900 mAh X2 arrived today along with some soft tips. I now have two 900 mAh X2s and two 78s. The fancier models keep my atteniton calling "buy me, buy me" but I have far exceeded my orignial budget for this hobby. DYI juice may be my next project, but from what I have priced out it will still be costly.

True to begin with, but it sure does pay for itself in the long run. We have quite a few people here that are quite experienced with DIY nicquids, so don't be afraid to ask for help. :)

DIY doesn't need to be particularly costly. The most expensive component is nicotine. PG, VG and flavors are all quite inexpensive. For mixing all you really need is some syringes, up to 20 or 30ml depending on how big a quantity you're going to mix, and some 14ga blunt needles so you can "pick up" the VG. Bottles are inexpensive as well. Pipettes can be very handy when measuring small amounts, as in .25ml but, again, are very inexpensive. A trick to make your syringes last longer is to put a piece of clear tape over the graduations so they don't wash off when you clean things when you're done. I would suggest making sure to use only USP grade nicotine, PG and VG to be sure of good quality components.

Just my opinion, worth what you're paying for it, your results and mileage may vary, no warranty or guaranty is expressed or implied.

I must have 16-18 30ml glass bottles sitting around that I can't make myself throw away. And 4-5 15ml bottles, as well. Brown glass with droppers. I suppose one day I'll just toss them; but what a waste.

I am sure a DIY'er would gladly take those off your hands....

Good Morning Kico166,

I have reviewed the Doctors show on e-cigs and their opinion is
Here is a link to the You Tube Video if you want to look:
Doctors Discuss Electronic Cigarette Safety Concerns - YouTube

I guess you need to have a talk with your own Dr. if there is an urgent question.
My thots exactly! I've seen that video! Thanks for posting ... I'm sending the link to the gal that brought it up.

I know I'm healthier - I LIKE to run now when I'm in a hurry! I didn't realize before that I didn't because I just didn't feel that good. I can't believe I'm BELOW my high school weight! LOL! Partly because I went gluten free - as much as possible w/o buying too much GF labeled. Just focused on protein & veggies w/ GF crackers when I think I want something "starchy". I vape my deserts!

Don't toss 'em! LOL! Sell 'em - to Awsum!

You all have raised excellent points about the benefits of vaping ... I was so surprised when she told me about that - I totally forgot about the benefits - like Rave has mentioned ... as I now understand it - "Tim" went to vaping because of COPD - like many here have mentioned. Cindy- congrats on turning the diabetes / BP stuff around! I think diabetes is very insideous ...
I also listen to naturalpath doctors ... Wish "we" all could afford to take the supplements they expound ... I certainly don't trust the medical profession where nutrition is concerned.

REGARDING THE MINI VIVI NOVA'S here's the best price ($7.99) : I'm getting a few more to keep on hand ... Not sure how long this price is good for but at $1.99 shipping ... and shipping is s'pose to go up in Jan ... I'm getting more!
ETA: I have the 2.0 ml on the X2's - there's also bigger ones. They have a kit of 3 different ohm coils ... and replacement coils are at a good price here.
Vision eGo V2 Replacement Coils| Vision Vivi Nova Tank Rebuildable Coils

Then I'm going to go read the article and maybe post it's link here - probably tomorrow - getting bedtime for this ol' workin' girl!

Have a great day / evening all!

Wow - talk about biased! definitely need to get other info to the lady that sent me the link.

I also have the blessing of 2 doctor's on the ecig ...
Not so sure about the info the article gave on nicotine - one doc told me it's a mild anti-depressant ... nothing about it being harmful.
ETA: No different than caffeine - suspect "moderation" in ALL things enters here ...

He has 2 brother's that are using ecigs as well ...

but - at any rate - here is the link:
