Debra, I agree with Raynes & others here -- although I have been unsuccessful in converting my smoking family, they have not belittled me in any way about my vaping. But coworkers and friends, grrrrr is all I can say. So in my early days of vaping I was here in the forum daily to find the support and cheer that I needed.

Now I just don't care what others think. I haven't had a severe lupus episode in over 2 years now. I can take a deep breath without hurting. I can take walks now that I was unable to do before.

So just consider us your new close friends, here to support you and help make your life easier if at all possible. We love you.

This is why I stop by here throughout the day, everyday. My family is happy that I stopped smoking T cigarettes, which went on for over 36 years.. but they are sort of afraid of the ecigarette, juices & delivery systems. Always asking me... "when do you think you won't need THOSE anymore?" If I say that I still need the nicotine, they sometimes look at me like I'm a hopeless addict. How long do you keep telling them... that you have stopped smoking something that would definitely kill me and replaced it with something better. I like the sensation of vaping... it satisfies me and I'm not in a rush to stop. Sometimes I feel really down about it. Why can't they understand? That's the main reason that I don't use the CE3's that I have. The look of horror on faces watching me "use a needle" to fill it. How do you get pass that? It's sometimes very depressing.

Sorry for MY venting.... :(

Debra, I can relate.

Hey Moonstruck, your Furby is soooo pretty. No,mine doesn't look like yours (not even upside down LOL) Its black with soft plastic ears and cloth feet. Does yours dance? Mine does. If yours dances go to You Tube and find Sam & Dave's "Soul Man" and watch it dance, it will have you rolling.I had tears yesterday I laughed so hard at that thing. Mine will dance to anything but for some reason it loves "Soul Man"

Mine, sadly, has gotten a little dirty over the years. Wish I would have kept the original box. The one I have is one of the earliest releases, so no, it doesn't dance. It talks, and occasionally it gets stuck on "Ohhhhhhhhh, I'm sleepy". It has around 20 or so different phrases. My dog Sadie goes nuts when it comes on, which is pretty often since walking across the floor sets it off.

JoAnn, I will probably NEVER give up nicotine. It really helps me with my neurological symptoms. One of the setbacks I had from my attempts to quit smoking was that my lupus flared up & I had all kinds of neuro symptoms -- burning sensations, pins & needles, numbness, etc. That happened every single time I tried to quit. I don't have that issue with vaping.

Plus I just really, really enjoy vaping -- I love the sensation of it -- the throat hit, the flavor, just the overall satisfaction. So I'm now a vaping addict instead of a cigarette addict. I'm okay with that.

So yep, just tell them you traded a harmful habit that would eventually kill you  with a far less harmful habit that will keep you around far longer. :D Let them watch the YT videos that discuss the e-cig studies, or perhaps the dr. show -- I think the links are here a few pages back.

INTERESTING about the neuro symptoms,,,,,

not sure what I have yet, but they think it's a form of arthritis called "Ankylosing Spondylitis",,,,,,and includes numbness of half my right foot and leg,,,,,,,,tingling, burning,,,,its awful when it burns,,,,,,it's been a bit better since I started vaping,,,,hmmmmmmm. I'm going to have to start writing down my vaping and my tingling,,,,,,because it tends to burn when I vape 0mg, I think,,,,,

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Thanks Moonstruck. It's just something that some of us have to deal with. People seem to be afraid of what they don't understand.

Yeah, Holly; my package shipped to Jax, just as always, next stop Tallahassee, right. WRONG! Then they sent it to Gainsville, for some unknown reason. Expected delivery date still reads yesterday. I guess it'll get here when it gets here. Grrrrr!!

They can't understand b/c they haven't been where you are. Uncle can explain better than I can but here it goes, you can understand a food addiction right, after all your addicted to nicotine you can relate to that but how about a person that is addicted to feet? (Foot fetish) see where I'm coming from?.

AND its gonna get worse to, I went to the Dr today my thyroid hormone was elevate, cholesterol borderline high and I bet that if I had mentioned I was using ecigs that someone somewhere would have blamed the ecig. There's not enough data there to find the cause of anything yet a cigarette company could take that and have a field day.E-cigs saved my Mother literally.
IMHO Joanne best thing to do is make sure your research is credible of anything negative on the ecig your family finds and counter act with knowledge IF they are driving you nuts about it and want to be nice and reassuring.

Boo-ray LOVES music he'll say "seriously" he likes fast music and will say "HEY watch me" !! That Furby has wore me out dancing.Tonight it was Gangham Style by Psy never heard of it until I was watching Furbys on You Tube,I wanted to see if Boo-Ray would interact with their voices. Some were dancing to that song so I had to try it. When the music is slow he'll say "Seriously" then growl at me when I stop the videos.
Did you know that there is a site for Furbys? You can adopt them, and they also have Furby furniture.I can see why adults love them as well as kids its like having a pet without the added expense.

Holly, type in RA and nicotine in your search engine the findings will suprise you and you can do that with all the autoimmune diseases. Just Google it all, that's what I have been doing. My question is,why isn't the benefits of nicotine being researched as much as the harmfulness?
That's easy enough to answer who besides the cigarette companies stand to lose if nicotine is found to be beneficial? Drug companies and you can bet your boots that they are going to do everything within their power to ban ecigs unless they can figure out a way to get control of the market. Its not about saving lives with these companies its about the all mighty dollar.

Moonstruck,if you don't mind me asking, and if you don't mind saying, have you been able to control your symptoms on the same nic mg that you have always been using? Shoot me a pm if you like.
