my 5mths of being off smellys...in a few days....I look back and weigh it all up...I would have spent $2000...on the rotten things....my total for volt supplys $1100.....$200 or so on juicers other vendors...hey im happy $700 in savings....plus im stocked up....thank you....BUT!! the endless fiddling...with weird bats..leaky nannos, clearos....has me at it for hours a day....my friends are now saying...uve just given up the smellys for another habit. you look like a weird scientist in a lab...no pleasing some...id go outside and smoke....took all there comments waving of hands move away from them...old dirty eye look...now im like some junkie in there eyes...so im a freak with a new habit ..im sure as time goes by these issues with hardware will improve....plus its like a hobby for me..i have no children..just me and my lovely cat alice....so my so called friends can go JUMP!!! sorry just had to get that off my chest...

My family is proud but at the same time hits me with the whole "it's still got nicotine in it" and from friends and family " when are you gonna stop that?". I'm pretty sure my coworkers think I'm crazy when they see me with one of my reos or X2's :) but on the awesome side I work with one of the vape team guys so at least someone at work understands. Will I stop, I dunno may someday maybe not.

Hang in the deb.

JoAnn, I will probably NEVER give up nicotine. It really helps me with my neurological symptoms. One of the setbacks I had from my attempts to quit smoking was that my lupus flared up & I had all kinds of neuro symptoms -- burning sensations, pins & needles, numbness, etc. That happened every single time I tried to quit. I don't have that issue with vaping." Quoted from Moonstruck
Moonstruck,if you don't mind me asking, and if you don't mind saying, have you been able to control your symptoms on the same nic mg that you have always been using? Shoot me a pm if you like.

I'd be interested too? And come to think of it my lupus hasn't been too bad since I started vaping. I've been vaping 12 mgs from the beginning.

I don't think ill give nicotine up .....I started smoking at 10....my dad worked for a tobacco company.....dad got heaps of freebies....he gave them up in the 8oS...and has been on my case ever since....even to the point of getting on his knees...begging me to stop....when I told him about vaping....he was happy...at first....but now after 5mths....hes hearing all weird stories...about this bath salts drug....and warning me...how do you really know what there putting in the nic juice....oh daddy!!! how do really know what goes in anything unless we do it ourselves....and that's not just vaping...theres a number of things we partake of everyday in our lives....all I can really tell him is...I feel better...I don't cough anymore...saving$s.....ive gone from 24mg....down to 11s or 12smg....and maybe 6mg in next 2mths.....

Good Morning Volties - A delicious Kenyan coffee is on.

The appraiser is coming to the house so I have to clean like a mad woman. The outside is picked up but the inside needs some neatening up. For those pof you who don't know, there is a government program that lets you get the lower interest rates even if you are upside down in your house. It is called HARP.

Amazing but probably not shocking, nicotine has benefits for some people like people with lupus or other neurological symptoms.

LOL, actually Furbies LOVE being upside down :) they giggle and chortle when they are :)

Mine didn't. He'd exclaim: "WHOAA!! Me scared! Worried! Wa!" Which kinda made it fun to play catch with him. And you wonder why he went crazy??

I have no idea. Might have been from me keeping him in the pantry to shut him up. When I'd close the pantry door, it would be quiet for awhile. Then he'd say: "Hmmmm - BORING!" Open up the pantry door and he'd say: "PARTY!!"
RAVE,I can't BELIEVE you treated your Furby that way !!!!!! After all,how would you feel if someone locked you up in a pantry? I took Boo Ray (Salem didn't fit him),to work last night and to the Dr's Office today. My patients loved it,there were no kids at the Dr's office but me (sigh),so I didn't wake him up.

I was a bit heartless with the Furby. But, they do get a bit annoying after awhile. Especially with a young boy instigating things along. My son was quite young then.

Mine, sadly, has gotten a little dirty over the years. Wish I would have kept the original box. The one I have is one of the earliest releases, so no, it doesn't dance. It talks, and occasionally it gets stuck on "Ohhhhhhhhh, I'm sleepy". It has around 20 or so different phrases. My dog Sadie goes nuts when it comes on, which is pretty often since walking across the floor sets it off.

Here it is right-side-up.

That's more like it! Now - If you stick a cigarette .... in his mouth and put dalmation dots all over him, that would look a lot like mine. :)

One of the setbacks I had from my attempts to quit smoking was that my lupus flared up & I had all kinds of neuro symptoms -- burning sensations, pins & needles, numbness, etc. That happened every single time I tried to quit. I don't have that issue with vaping.

Plus I just really, really enjoy vaping -- I love the sensation of it -- the throat hit, the flavor, just the overall satisfaction. So I'm now a vaping addict instead of a cigarette addict. I'm okay with that.

So yep, just tell them you traded a harmful habit that would eventually kill you  with a far less harmful habit that will keep you around far longer. :D Let them watch the YT videos that discuss the e-cig studies, or perhaps the dr. show -- I think the links are here a few pages back.

Same here. With my MS, I always have the burning sensations, the pins & needles, numbness, etc. so on, but I can ease that with vaping. If it's really bad, I'll vape a higher level of nic for awhile. That truly helps.

Holly, type in RA and nicotine in your search engine the findings will suprise you and you can do that with all the autoimmune diseases. Just Google it all, that's what I have been doing. My question is,why isn't the benefits of nicotine being researched as much as the harmfulness?
That's easy enough to answer who besides the cigarette companies stand to lose if nicotine is found to be beneficial? Drug companies and you can bet your boots that they are going to do everything within their power to ban ecigs unless they can figure out a way to get control of the market. Its not about saving lives with these companies its about the all mighty dollar.

Extremely well said, and unfortunately, very true. The neurologists know of the benefits. At least, mine does.

I'd be interested too? And come to think of it my lupus hasn't been too bad since I started vaping. I've been vaping 12 mgs from the beginning.

Try keeping some nicquid around that's slightly higher for bad days. I don't use the higher nic ALL day on bad days, but just a few puffs when things are bad. You'll see that it really does take the edge off of neuro symptoms.

Lizzie, you really don't need to clean for an appraiser. Just make sure the doors don't fall off and there's no holes in the roof or floors, LOL. They're just looking at the basic structure. Now, if you want to clean up a house, consider this an open invitation!

I hope everything works for you. We just started a "refi" to lower the mortgage rate a "tad". It's not like we can't pay for the place and, thankfully, we're not underwater, but why pay more than we have to, esepecially since we just recently moved into the joint.

I wonder if nicotine has any beneficial effects for mental disorders. If it does, I better up my nicotine when I mix the next batch, not that I'm neurotic, OCD, or anything.

Yes Awsum it does !!! Nicotine does have mild antidepressant effects as its a stimulant and it can help with OCD traits. When I first started vaping I had to go through the motions of "lighting" my ecig to simulate the ritual of smoking. I'm very OCD.

Furiously upping the nicotine in all my bottles of mixes! And to think I was silly enough to try to reduce it.

Rave, I got such a kick out of watching my patients with this Furby. We have , one patient that is extremely depressed waiting on ECT therapy. Furby got her to smile first time I've seen her smile since her admission. It was brief but I'll take it. Some would pet it,some rock it,
but they all loved it. I'm going to TRY to get some more and start a Furby therapy program.
I tried to get an animal therapy program started several yrs ago but the administrator shot that down.

YOU KNOW BETTER than to furiously up your nicotine. Bops you upside the head. We don't even KNOW what a safe level is yet.
I had to "like" your post to make sure you read my response.

I have a 650 manual that I won,,,,,,,,,so I've used the manuals,,,,,,,but the 650 just isn't long enough for me LOL. My 900 lasts about 6 hours, so you can imagine how little the 650 lasts LOL. I'm going to put the 650 manual away for emergencies, or when I'll need a back up.

at first I wasn't sure I liked the manual,,,,,,,,but they grew on me,,,,definitely need some of each LOL. I do like the thicker, warmer, longer vape I get with them,,,but my autos aren't going anywhere,,,,,,,I like them for driving,,,,,,,,things like that :)

I found totally conflicting information LOL

some stuff said nicotine HELPED the symptoms,,,,,,,,,,,some articles said it CAUSED the RA or whatever.

go figure.
Yea I got that to. I disagree with nicotine causing RA my Mother is/was a smoker she vapes now and has RA,her sister has RA to and a cig never touched her lips.
I did find out one thing, ginger helps with inflammation,Mother's Dr told us that, so I got some ginger vapes and it did help when I had a flare. Can't hurt anything to try and see if it helps you. It took me some getting used to

great idea!!!!!!!! I call foul on cigarette smoking causing any auto immune disease,,,,,,my sister has diabetes, an auto immune disease, and she never smoked,,,,,,,,,ever. Most of the people I KNOW who have an auto immune disease never smoked.

Good Day All,

I see we are discussing nicotine today, a highly addictive subject

I checked out Wikipedia on the subject, available here: Nicotine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Previously when I attempted to stop analogs, I discovered that nicotine dependance comes from the control that it has over numerous bodily functions. When you quit supplying nicotine to your body, it reacts to this withdrawal and in many cases NEVER goes away (depending on how long a person smoked). In many people the body can adjust and begin to regulate sugars, moods, sleep, digestion and other functions without nicotine. In my case (after 50+ years of smoking) I need to maintain a certain level of nicotine. Fortunately vaping has supplied this for me.

Have a Great Day
