spiders.........ive had a few big huntsman spider contacts.....the last few weeks....as big as bread plates.....alice is the best spider hunter....I just yell SPIDER!!!! she comes running........but she didn't save me last thrusday....went out shopping...and heres one in car on wind screen....and I mean HUGE!!.....thank god we were not driving....I jumped out of that car like a rocket....I cant stand them.....just the thought of them.....makes me go nuts....

I am PHOBIC about spiders and the ones that I've seen around here are teeny. Can't even imagine what I would do if I saw something even a quarter the size that you just described. I've seen some documentaries about the number and size of spiders and snakes in Australia.

There ARE no words to describe what I would do if one crossed my path.

I'm getting palpitations just typing this!!! 8-o

Do you have Lyme disease from ticks or any other diseases? Just plain ticks are yukky enough, without having to worry about disease, too. My vet suggested Frontline Plus, which kills fleas, too. I've used it 2 months now, and it seems to make my cat less itchy, but I'm not sure if the disappearance of ticks on him was due to the Frontline or to the fact that it got colder. I guess the true test will be next summer. Can you get Frontline in Australia?

Thanks for the coffe, Rave. Love that touch of vanilla.

Hey Awsum. Hubby bakes bread, usually, but I decided that he hasn't been baking this winter and I am tired of stale store bought bread so I stepped up to start baking the bread around here. Not only does it cost less than store bought, once you have the ingredients memorized, mixing up a batch goes really fast.

Love the snapless ginger snaps. They sound a lot like molasses crinkles. One of my faves and on my list to get baked soon. Today, I need to bake the oatmeal raisin cookies since I have all the ingredients measured and ready to go. I just couldn't get motivated enough last night to actually add the eggs and shortening and get them baked:)

I did get a whole bunch of my book read.

Sitting down, facing forward.
We both do bread and have thought about a bread machine. It's hard to figure out which one is the "right" one though, the reviews are so conflicting. I normally mix a double or triple batch of oatmeal raisin cookies, then we make the dough into logs and freeze it. Then, whenever we want fresh, hot, oatmeal cookies we just slice off as many as we want and bake them in the toaster oven. I add chocolate chips and walnuts and have a "secrect" ingredient that makes them so moist and chewy. Maybe I'll get some out later although with the sugar cookies, pixies, cinnamon muffins, candies and peach pie I don't think we really need them.

The pixies are killers. The first time I made them I burned out a stand mixer, then burned out an Oster kitchen center making that first batch. Now we have a big KitchenAid and that does the trick. The dough is very thick and gooey. To actually form the cookies I put it in the freezer for a couple of hours, otherwise it sticks to everything, even hands covered with Pam, and even then you have to work really fast or it warms enough to stick to anything it touches.

I really like SI's chocolate. It has a smoky, dark chocolate taste, so if you're looking for milk chocolate, you might have to look elsewhere. But if you like dark chocolate, give it a try. I never would have thought I'd like a chocolate vape until I tried it. It's amazing the flavors I prefer. I keep being surprised.

thanks i will do that

Good Morning Volties!!

Coffee is on. It has just a smidge of vanilla.

I'll be baking cookies today: Tollhouse chocolate chip and gingersnapless. I'd call them gingersnaps, but I take them out before they harden. Then, they are snapless. The house will smell wonderful.

Thanks for the coffee Rave. Umm... snapless gingersnaps... umm... sounds really good!

Sounds like you are feeling better with each day. Really hope so. Healing prayers are still happening by the way! :)

Awsum -

We have the Kitchen Aid mixer so we make the bread dough and it does most of the kneading for us so I think we aren't going to use a bread machine. Of course, there is still a bit of kneading involved since you have to turn it out and finish it up but it isn't too bad. We also designed a special baking cabinet when we re-did the kitchen. It is lower than the other cabinets and has a nice piece of marble to roll out pie crusts or knead bread on.

We got a broken piece of marble from a dealer in Reno for $30. We cut it into the largest rectangle we could [it's quite soft so it was easy to cut with the appropriate grinder wheel], glued it to the 3/4 inch ply underneath and then surrounded it with some hardwood counter tops we repurposed for that. I am so glad we made the effort. It looks nice, it is really cool to have that feature and it really helps with the baking. All that for $30:)

If you like chocolate, you have GOT to get the chocolate from SI's new juice line. Just received my package from SI with some new juices to try, Niquid Chocolate was one of them. I put it in a kanger T3 (haven't received SI's T3 yet) on a twist, low setting for me...

Now let me just say that you have to like dark chocolate.. because it is exactly that. It is GOOD! Rich, smooth, cream, not over sweet but GOOODD!!!! Not for all day, no way! But if you want something for after dinner, when you want to sit back and relax... OMG! It's one of those... close your eyes and sigh... UMM!!!

I wish I could visit and sample some right out of the oven! Have a great day.
