Kicco I must be the failure of the forum but I will be honest. I was a 2-3 pack/day smoker and I smoked lights. I chain vape constantly and I started vaping 12mg and now I alternate btw 18mg,24mg and 36mg and have no desire to try to decrease my nic levels. Its enough for me that I'm not forcing anyone to breathe my second smoke, that my clothes no longer smell like smoke.
I admire Chief and others who are cutting down on their nic levels, but this dog is just too old and set in her ways, and the thought even feeling the tiniest withdrawal symptom just sets my teeth on edge.

Raynes. First thing you are NOT a failure. Don't even think that. We may talk about our experiences and what our plans are, to cut nicotine levels, but it's not for the purpose of making anyone feel bad if they can't or choose not to cut their levels. I would like to eventually get down to 6 but don't know if I will or really know if I want to at this point. You/we are not smoking cigarettes anymore. That is what is important. Enjoy your vaping journey and relax with what works for you. We are in this together. ;)

Sitting down, facing forward.
When I started vaping, with a (pardon the expression) 'ProSmoke', I thought you've got to be kidding. This is supposed to replace a Marlboro? I struggled with that for a few weeks, then stumbled across ECF, MrOutlaw and SI. That is what got me going for real and I did manage to eliminate Marlboros, and tobacco, that way. I have managed to cut my nicotine level down and hope to get it lower. But without the advice and support I got here, specifically in the SI forums, from everyone here, I'm sure I'd be smoking Marlboros still. Nobody that keeps off tobacco using an e-cig or vaping is a failure in any way, in fact you're a success because you've gotten off tobacco. That is the real key point, everything else is icing on the cake!

If it wasnt for humor someone might go back to smokes, right!!!!!!!
My apologies for not properly welcoming you. I missed a lot in Nov & Dec. Thought you had been a regular.
You said it! But the smell would kill now! The couple times it crossed my mind - upping the nic level fixed it.

It still feels wierd to me in public becuz no one seems to know about vaping, alot still consider it smoking. This is all new to me too and I have already got one friend at work to start vaping with me, and alot want to know more about it.
Yup - now you're a trendy!

Kicco I must be the failure of the forum but I will be honest. I was a 2-3 pack/day smoker and I smoked lights. OMGOSH NO! Not a failure! Doc said nicotine is no more harmful than caffeine, just calming; not that anyone on this forum might have a little stress in their life. Isn't that how many / most of us started w/ Tar-bacco? LOL - before vaping just the thought of quitting sent me outside!

That's what I said about 4 grandkids ago. I gave my volt starter kit to my daughter and I'm so glad that she stopped the smokes too. Nearly 4 months for me and almost 3 months for her. Life is great!
Funny - you don't sound old enough either! :p
I hear you loud and clear after finding out most of WL flavors are potent. I have been stuck on RY4 and Black Magic from EC Blends for a couple of months now and will try your other tobacco blends. What you should do is order your nic blend from WL with the highest amount you can get in pure PG. Then buy your VG at WallyMart $3 for 6 ounces (USP). Mix it 50/50 and you have 1/2 the Nic in a 50/50 PG/VG blend. OR mix it 60 PG and 30 VG and you reduce the nic by 30% instead of 50%. WL PG or VG doesn't cost any more when you add Nic.
Don't you loose in flavor? Or are you talking "tobacco" flavor? The only one I've been happiest w/ doing that is MBV's menthol.

Kit I think we were all a little nervous at first about vaping public, but you never know who's life you maybe be helping b/c someone is eventually going to ask you about ecigs. That's the way I looked at it anyway and helped me get over my nervousness it will pass and then you'll be proudly vaping in public.
I'm a die hard Smokeless Image fan their products are reliable, affordable,CS is fantastic, and they are always there to answer any questions you may have. Matter of fact when I first started researching and was looking at all the different stuff out there they were the only vendor to "pop" up and ask if they could help me. They didn't try to push the Volts on me,they just wanted to help. That says a lot. I do use liquids from different vendors but my equipment is always going to be from SI.
Bottom line, its all with what you are comfortable with. Vaping is a personal adventure. It CAN be overwhelming at first but you have a lot of great supportive folks here with a lot of knowledge. Its been said before, there are NO stupid questions. Best of luck to you I know you'll find what is right for you

Couldn't have said it better! I never dreamed I'd be comfy using the X2 in public! Now it's a great conversation starter (WHAT IS THAT!?) LOL that opens the door to share your experience! Yes you may get kidded about your "peace pipe". :D
Ditto on future intent! Started w/ 12 mg but the past 3-4 months it's crept up a bit.

Funny how the right family has eased the sadness of leaving my home. Mixed bag - happy & sad at the same time.
I miss the tranquility & the song birds of summer. Especially the years when we were surrounded by corn fields. It was like a private retreat back in there.
Better finish unpacking a few more boxes...

Forgot - Awsum reminded me. My first kit was around $75 - and sadly totally replaced by SI's volt package in the first month. They had a 45 day warranty. Not much good if no one stands behind it tho. I'd prefer to be 100% true to SI but there are a couple items I tried & like a bit better. I'll always refer people here to start!

Oh boy. It is supposed to be above 40 degrees today. Grab some Kenyan coffee.

I really need to rake the horse pen and clean the goat pen so it will be nice to have a warmer day so I can start getting caught up.

The goat pen is a mess! It is so cold out that I have been cleaning the straw out of the goat hut and raking it out to the sunny side of the hut for them to lay on in the sun. They really like that but now I have about 8 wheel barrow loads of straw to take out. If I do three or four a day, I might get caught up by Thursday.

I put straw in the horse pen for him to stand on in his hut and outside by the fence line so I need to rake that up along with all the hay he has been wasting. He was getting a lot of grass hay so that he could eat all night if he wanted to while it was 3 and 4 degrees out overnight. He likes to push all the hay out from the feeder with his nose and eat the fine stuff in the bottom first. Then he eats the rest:) Inevitably some of it ends up off the rubber mat and onto the dirt. He doesn't eat that which is fine since I don't want him to get sand colic.

A little waste is to be expected with the goats or the horse when feeding hay. Some people like pelleted food since they feel there is no waste but I think the animals love spending time eating. That little horse can eat for several hours at at time. Since it is grass hay, he gets to eat almost as much as he wants. The straw and the wasted hay goes into my compost pile so it does get used. Since we have no grass clippings or other green items for the compost pile [it's a desert], the hay helps get that compost pile to compost hotter.

Wiseguy loves eating and he starts chewing as he sees me walking over from the shed with the hay!

If you want to reduce wasted hay and still give Wiseguy more chewing time, look into slow feeders.

Volts, nanos, cartridges.......everyone look up they will c a big blast explosion that would b my brain blowing up!!!!!!!! Do I sound overwhelmed??????

I stick to the simple ones that look like cigarettes. Go to Smokeless Image | The Best Electronic Cigarette and see them. They come in 2 sizes, 65 mm and 78 mm. Then you can choose to have an automatic or a manual. The automatic batteries just start producing vapor when you suck on them. The manuals have a button to push to produce the vapor. Some people prefer one kind, and some like the other better. I have lots of automatics and a couple of manuals, just because I was curious about them. They are a bit more trouble to use, since you have to push a button, but it's not a big deal, and I do think I like the vapor slightly more from the manuals. As for size, the shorter ones don't last quite as long before needing to be recharged, but the smaller size makes them fit into a smaller carrying case. On these batteries go cartos (cartomizers, but we all use the short name). See Smokeless Image | The Best Electronic Cigarette and decide what flavor you want in the prefilled or get one or more of the sampler packs. Later, when you decide your favorite flavors, you can get the empty cartos and fill them from a bottle of e-liquid. I started out with sampler packs, then got blank cartos. You can refill them a number of times with the same flavor of liquid or some compatible flavor and get a blended taste. For instance, I had a cappuccino carto from a sampler pack. I had used up some, but wasn't crazy about that flavor, but I really liked chocolate and ordered a bottle. So I tried adding some chocolate to the cappuccino. Yes, it improved it some, but it didn't taste as good as straight chocolate. That's just my opinion, and everyone has different tastes and favorite flavors. At first, I thought I'd want a tobacco-tasting e-cig, but when I got the sampler packs and tried all the different flavors, I was amazed that I liked other flavors better, so don't just stick to a tobacco flavor -- try them all. OK, that's my advice for a newbie, since this is how I started and what I've stuck to ever since. I'm leery of all the problems I hear of with the newfangled stuff. The most adventurous I got was to try the rubber drip tips, which I no longer see on the SI site. What happened to those? Yes, if you got vaping nonstop, they leaked liquid into your mouth, but I just learned to tone down the vape rate, and they were OK.

Good morning/afternoon/evening to all my Voltie friends. Hope everyone is doing great today.

Well, I decided to change up my vaping today, so I'm using cartos. Maybe I just got tired of all the fiddling, filling airholes, wiping up leaks, blah, blah, blah. But whatever, I have 5 flavors in rotation, and all's good. I've put away my T-3s for now, but I'll pull them back out after I buy myself a vv battery. I still love my clearos, but I've thrown most of them out now (worn out & leaking). I will definitely order more.

Penny Poo Poo is talking to me again:facepalm:

Thanks awsum140 for the PMs, and also Lizzie for your flavor advice I just ordered:

Peach, English Tobacco, RY4 Asian, Tobacco Absolute, Butterscotch, and French Vanilla. Wizard Labs was out of Chocolate and Belgin Waffle which I wanted to try. I will continue my DIY experiments, this time with just Pure 100% VG which is cheap from WallyMart and if it tastes OK I will then mix up a batch with my 50/50, 12 MG Nic.

If this does not work, I will get Mrs. Wabbit to mix up a batch of cupcakes with the flavors LOL

I ran out of nic solution yesterday after making 5ml of watermelon. I'm not out of juice to vape. But dang, I have so many flavors on hand that I haven't tried yet. So today I ordered more nic solution, PG, VG, and a few more flavors. Has my Sadie been talking to Penny Poo Poo?

I sampled a few drops of the double chocolate clear (TFA) in my coffee last night (real coffee, not vaping coffee). Man, it was good! I will definitely be making some kind of chocolate vape.

Hi there, so far so good.......going to visit my daughter and two grandkids..................Im way to young to b a grandma, lol. My daughter is so proud of me givingup the smokes, that makes me feel good.

Hi KitKat, don't remember if I ever welcomed you before, but glad to have you here. And congratulations for quitting smoking; that really IS something to be proud of.

Raynes, don't feel bad. I've been vaping for 3 years, and I'm still at 18mg. I smoked 1.5 PAD for over 38 yrs, so I'm happy about it for the most part. I've tried to go down to 12, but it just doesn't give me the TH and satisfaction that I need to stay off cigs. The nicotine we're getting has nowhere near the health consequences of inhaling 3,000+ chemicals into our lungs. We don't reek of cigarette smoke anymore. We don't burn holes in our clothes or furniture anymore.

All things considered, I think we're pretty :censored: fine just the way we are. :D

Hi everyone, regulars and irregulars alike. I've been enjoying the chit chat and the photos so much today, I'm really glad to have this little escape.

Not too long ago someone (JoAnn?) posted somewhere about being asked when they would be able to stop vaping. A couple of days ago I was taken by surprise with a similar experience. Mr Q (haha, I'll have to start calling him that!) told me about a guy he works with that stopped smoking cold turkey for the new year. This particular guy stops smoking pretty regularly, I have heard how he is crabby and irritable at work several times and more in the past years. Anyway, my hubby has passed along info I sent for this man, along with the SI cards, ECF address, etc. As far as I know he never looked into vaping. Fair enough, I gave the info and offered to help if he was interested.

Anyway, my hubby comes home from work with the name of a book written down, from this man....a "how to stop smoking book". Hubby says his coworker is using this book and recommends it highly. I look at my beloved husband and say "I don't need a book about how to quit smoking, I DON'T SMOKE ANYMORE!!!" I have not smoked a cigarette since May 15th! That's almost 8 months! Hubby shrugs and says nothing. Man, that pushed my buttons! I can understand the man wanting to pass along a tip to me, but it's the fact that hubby didn't tell him that I no longer smoke! Maybe I'm being overly sensitive, I let it go, but it's sticking in my mind and kind of bugging me. Maybe I just needed to vent a bit and it will leave me alone now. lol, end rant.......

Oh, Lizzie, I think you should put into your signature: Penny Poo Poo is talking to me again I really got a kick out of that! :)

Rant away, Mrs. Wabbit is the same way, although she allows me to vape in the house and in front of her, whereas smoking cigarettes was a NO NO. She now complains that I vape a lot more than I ever smoked, AND..... that is because I had to go outside to smoke. Soooooo rant on if you all so desire.

Well, Q, sometimes people just have to find something else to complain about.

Actually, he probably doesn't mean to be an insensitive jerk. He really just doesn't understand that vaping is NOT smoking.

Rant away. It is frustrating living in a society that thinks that you can't have any habits at all. Heck, there's people frowning on coffee drinkers for gosh sakes.

Thanks Rabbit and Moonstruck, it's good to have someone(s) that understands. My hubby was never a smoker, so I suppose maybe it seems like no biggie to him. But yes, he was really happy when I stopped the cigs, so he knows the difference for sure! ....Maybe I need a new battery or some wraps or something.....

Okay, got my nap, cleaned the goat pen and the horse pen. Yeah, There's another round of cleaning tomorrow to get caught up after all the cold weather but it was a balmy 43 degrees out and I finally got something done outside:) Poop patrol and dumping yesterdays ashes in the garden got done. Yeah, those are my glamour jobs.

New water for the goats and the horse. Taking out the trash, check. Today's ashes cleaned out of the woodstove and safely stored to cool off until tomorrow. I managed to scrub the inside of the toilets so I better get in there and do the outside so that I get full credit for cleaning the toilets when Hubby gets home:)

Wheel barrow load of wood, check. Yeah, that's Hubby's job but he is a hard worker and he is working six long days this week so I decided to cut him some slack. He still has to make kindling when he gets home.

Horse fed, goats fed, dogs fed.

Now for a nice afternoon cup of coffee and a relaxing vape with my English Toffee Tobacco and my 555 alternating. Then I'll need to prep the veggies and deer meat for Chinese stirfry.

It's hard to want to clean your won house when you clean other people's houses but I think I might have to at least dust and vacuum tomorrow.

SandySu - I've heard of the slow feeder but the little goober probably doesn't need it. His food lasts for hours. He did have a bit too much hay while it was so cold overnight so he dumped some of it but he generally cleans up his plate. Wiseguy loves eating. So far, I'm watching his weight and I don't think he is getting fat although he definitely isn't skinny.

Sounds like my day, Lizzie. I get poop patrol with Bo, daily, and am very familiar with the porcelain objects found in bathrooms. I just don't have to haul ashes out, no woodstove or fireplace.

Kitkat, don't get overwhelmed, we've all been there, too. A starter kit, if you don't already have one, is a good place to start and the sample packs of cartomizers will let you sample all the flavors that are in the SI "original" line, and some of them will undoubtedly tickle your fancy. Once you're comfortable then it's time to expand out to clearos, CE3s, Nanos, T3s, tanks, VV and so on.

Q, all of us that deal with family members that have never smoked or quit smoking go through the same things. I was lucky enough (?) to get my wife to try vaping and now she vapes as well, but I do get an occasional comment about my chain vaping. Guess we just have to get hardened to it, either that or get out that cast iron frying pan.

It's a shame your husband doesn't understand, but what I think you need to do is depend on what you think, not what other people think. You have stopped smoking. You are vaping now. You may want to continue vaping for the rest of your life. Remind your husband that at least you're not grouchy, as if you were quitting cold turkey. Everyone has to do it in their own way, and I think what others do shouldn't overly concern you. Some people want to vape, enjoy it, and have no plans to ever stop. Others are using it as a way to reduce the nic level gradually till they can stop completely. These are personal choices and should not be dictated by anyone else.

Yes, but recent research says that coffee is good for you. One year, it's bad, then the next year they say it's good. Who knows?

I strongly agree with Raynes on all points. I was lucky to meet a woman vaping a disposable a few months ago. I'd have never started vaping if I hadn't met her and got to ask her questions about her ecig. I haven't seen another vaper yet. I vape in public, and hope that I can turn some people on to vaping. The more on our side, the better!

I second the CS at SI. Quick shipping and nice folks to buy from.
