I wanted to stop by and apologize for my posts last night. Especially to those that had to scroll on by. I shouldn't have unloaded here, as this is for "chit chat," not my dumping ground. Thank you to those who offered their help, I really appreciate it.
Do what you need to do when you need to do it. The frustrations were building up, and you had to dump them somewhere.

Lizzie, your organization and attention to detail is wonderful. You are certainly enjoying the fruits of your labor.

Tina, surely do hope you can come to your happy place soon.

Got another early start this morning at 6, and am taking a bit of time for the computer. Except for Mass this evening, I have nothing urgent on the agenda......so between some laundry and maybe a quick trip to Lowe's to see if there are any leftover plants on sale, today will be a bit of hodgepodge.

Took me four years of vaping before I went to a vape meet but it was Vapefest 2013, and it was awesome.
Tomorrow we'll be going to one in Jax, and it is a small one, but I'll get the chance to meet Ben at Vapornine.
He has a B&M there, so looking forward to that!

Going to get ready now and head out to Lowe's.......

Ciao~~

The good thing about support communities online-- you get advice and perspectives from a bunch of different people. You get to pick and choose, which leads to better independent problem-solving skills. Individual counseling is supposed to help a person become independent-- but.....

Does she own or rent. If she owns and did not have adequate insurance-- a single mom........ :(

That's awful! Where will she live? Will she rebuild?

I guess they moved in with a friend temporarily. I'm not sure what exactly she's doing because she was paying off the mortgage for the previous owner as part of buying the house. Since they condemned it, she refused to continue to pay (and I don't blame her for that) and I see she's moving all of her stuff out today. Knowing the previous owner, he'll give it a poor cob-job and try to resell it. I hope they don't get suckered into it again.

Good morning, folks. That Kati Kati coffee sounds yummy. I haven't had it before. On a side note, they condemned my neighbors house because that flooding destroyed the foundation.

That is so sad, Nuke! I wish her well! It's got to be hard as a single parent!

Thank you for being so understanding, everyone! I'm feeling a little better. Waiting on my therapist to come out.

Here's a scenic spot in Beloit, WI, for you. It's not a good view, though, but I like the waterfall effect. It used to be our mall, but it's now a bunch of offices and our library and a medical center is there now. It's called the Eclipse Center.

Have a great day! Time for me to go!

Hi peeps -

Kati Kati coffee this morning.

Hope you work out your Hubby troubles Tina.

Tail and Raven - When I finish a project, I look at it over and over again, admiring my handiwork and congratulating myself on how great it looks/works. When I finished the kitchen, I changed from my usual seat in the dining room so I could take my coffee break gazing into the newly renovated kitchen. Hubby and I did the floor tiles, the wall cubbies for cutting boards and knives and spices. I designed the cabinets and I fought the cabinet guy, who was someone we know tooth and nail, to get my ideas done properly. He could do it my way but he didn't want to. I made the layout with a microwave off the counter into a top cabinet cubby and I invented the trash can drawer which has worked stunningly. I designed a pullout cutting board into the design. I got the big sturdy stainless steel sink on line for only $100. We did easy undermount lighting for the cabinets and Hubby put in new electrical outlets. I bought a piece of marble that we cut and made into a pastry working area. I tiled the counters and we got a nice maple wood counter top made for the one area.

We did the job in two phases. We reused the old appliances except the dishwasher so we could stay at $2000 for phase one and $2,000 for phase two. We had a tight budget since I saved up for this project out of my cleaning jobs.

To this day I enjoy that kitchen. We thought it out and we implemented it. We stayed on budget but got everything we wanted and it turned out really nice looking.

Anyway, one of the many projects that we have done out here that I went to look at after it was done. "I did that and it looks good:)"

Today I will be starting the roofing on the sheds. We got the shingles last night so we wouldn't waste our nice cool morning driving into town. 58 degrees out there and the sun is just coming up. Hope everyone has a great day.

I admire you for staying on budget. My projects never do. I always end up buying or needing something else. I went through a couple of thresholds trying to get it to work. I didn't originally think I'd replace the chair, but after some thought about my problematic doggie house guests, I knew it was time to get rid of it!

I smile each time I step into the office and feel so much better because I had let it go for so long!

Feels good to get a project done. I am proud of you.

Looks like my shingle project is definitely going way over budget. The price per bundle is higher than anticipated and I also had a 16x16' shed I didn't include in my initial calculations. Oh well, it has to get done since those roofs will not make it through another winter with tar only. They have got to have shingles:) Looks like I am headed into town for more shingles soon.

I have quite a few unfinished projects, because I keep running out of money. Then I get a little more cash and the project evolves into something else.

Lizzie, good for you for standing your ground. I have both my toaster oven and microwave on bottom halves of wall cabinets and couldn't be happier with placement! And pull-out trash compartments are a MUST IMO in any kitchen. Garbage cans are such eyesores to look at, and very inconvenient when you're constantly tripping over them. I put them in every kitchen I design I do. And IKEA SS sinks (and appliances too) are actually of pretty decent quality for the prices. ;)
Not a shameless plug, just a fact. I used to sell them and was in charge of comparison specs.
