Mornin Marlou. Happy 4th back at ya.

Two things are certain in south Florida. It will rain on July 4th and Halloween and we will never have a white Christmas.

It's pouring

It's just funny, the two holidays where the festivities are outside and it always rains all day and night

Hmmm - And here I thought I was being all stealthy. I hadn't said a word, I'm in "invisible mode", and Kia still knew I was here.
Guess my low profile wasn't low enough.

Good Morning Volties! I hope you all enjoy the holiday. :)

Rave, you have no idea of how much that pic in your Av looks like my sister 20yrs ago. She is 52 now. I wish I had a pic to post to show you as a comparison.

I guess that's the advantage to being a real redneck lol. I don't let rain stop me from my bbq. It's too hot for my guests to eat outside anyway. Most of them stay inside and pop out once in a while to see if I've got any samples. Nice and peaceful out under the oaks.

Your sister must be georgeous then.

I'm talking about the fireworks. I don't mind BBQ in the rain or even swimming so long as theirs no lightening, which there is right now

Most of us aren't that sophicistacated Konstantine. I did however design and execute my own redneck fireworks display many years ago when they were strictly banned here. I'm an archer and we taped sparklers and one of the small "black cat" firecrackers we had picked up somewhere to my practice arrows. We'd light the sparkler first, then the firecracker and I'd cast the arrow at about an 85 degree angle. For some reason the firecracker wouldn't report until the arrow was at the top of the arc. I followed that up with tracers in my .38 cal pistol before there were any houses around. Marine flares would have been too much of a fire danger in the woods. Sewing thread and an aluminum foil tray with a little candlewax and a wick taped to a helium filled ballon rises very slowly and is fun to watch for a while if you're not too close to an airport. Ahh the good ol daze lol.

...especially come November. Sorry, had to.

Don't be sorry Joe. That's one of the main things it's all about.

Very true. Part of me feels bad for bringing up anything that could arouse negative feelings on a day like today, but on the other hand - THERE IS A REASON TODAY IS SO GREAT, and I'm not about to hold my tongue when next Independence Day, or more likely Independence Day 2014, is at risk of not being so happy. That being said..

I hope everyone has a great day!

Freedom of speech is another of the things it's all about.

LOL dude...... Safety first.
You can buy small systems for very little cash if you want to be safer.
They use clamps which you can attach to visco fuse (the green fuse all fireworks have now) and it ignites them.

Lol. This was about 30 years ago and we didn't have anything else here in the sticks and wouldn't have had the money to buy it anyway. We just had fun and celebrated the best way we could.
