Hello All,

You can get really good sound machines that play the rain sound, I have mine on now, it's also great for turning off the neighbours :)

I can't believe Mr Methane is still on the go, it's all natural urgh!
Oh, grego, I tried one of those but it made me have to pee all the time! I liked the birdies in the forest one though...

LOL!
I prefer the real sounds of nature. Guess i'm going to miss them since i don't work in the field anymore..
Konstantine, you can still be out in nature. Only difference now is that you can actually stop and enjoy it now! ;)

I usually do white noise at night in bed and rain only through the day..... for the reason mentioned :)
It's funny, the sound machine does that, but the tabletop zen fountain doesn't. I guess it's different when you can actually see the water too...thunderstorms are awesome! Almost moved to Santa Fe once, just for that!

Unfortunately we live in a street but at the crack of dawn we get just that with the birds, and it is bliss.

I could listen to thunderstorms all day and all night. The rain is secondary.

Oh yes they're definitely a great sound.

I'm in the city too. Smells different too, that early. My BF and I had to get up early one morning: I asked him, "hey what's that smell?" He replied "that's dawn, baby!"

Gees - I'm so darned lucky. What I hear in the morning depends on the season. In the spring, the birdsong is so overwhelming that it goes beyond imagination. In the summer I hear birds and cicadas, even turkeys in the day and katydids at night, along with various species of owls, coyotes, and sometimes the barking of a startled deer. In the autumn the bugs die back, but I can enjoy the bugling of elk at a nearby elk farm at dawn and at periods through the night. The winter is quiet. Too quiet. But with the lack of city sounds, even the wind sound in the trees is a joy. I love this place.

Great stuff, this post reminds me of Grantchester Meadows by Pink Floyd...

Sitting down, facing forward.
We lived in an apartment for years, second floor thankfully. It was right next to a street that serviced an Ocean Spray plant and lead into town. Next to the street was a railroad track that also, among other things, serviced that same Ocean Spray plant and they seemed to love to time their trips to about an hour after we got to sleep, three times a week. Now we're "out in the woods". The first few nights we both had trouble adjusting to the almost dead quiet. Yeah, there's still some highway sound from about a half mile away so it's fairly muted unless there's an itiot with a "Jake brake" stopping for the light, but other than nature sounds, there sure isn't much. We're about 10 miles from joint base MDL, McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, and if it's really quiet at night and the wind is in the right direction and they're doing night practice with automatic weapons we can hear the .50 and .30 (I know they're 5.56mm, just old fashioned) cal machine guns. Needless to say we can "hear", more like feel, the 105's when they use them, but that's very infrequent, too expensive I guess. Same is true during the day when a "heavy" takes off from McGuire. In a way, those aren't really bad sounds, they're sounds of security to me and those conditions don't happen very often at all. The thiing that really bugs me is the motorcycles with open pipes at two in the morning. I understand the "loud pipes save lives" idea, but what gives them the right to blast down a residential street and disturb the peace at 2AM? Want to feel the wind in your face, go sit at the end of a runway when a jet takes off!

I've vaped some of Tasty Vapor's juices and have Atomic Cinnacide. It's good, but Ms T's is a lot stronger. Another one I like is Geoff's Blend. A very hard to pinpoint flavor, but there's definitely banana in it. I find it interesting, and every time I vape it, I try to figure out what the flavor blend is.

I have Geoff's Blend too Sandy but I havn't tried it for a week or two, I'll have to try it again b'cos I don't remember tasting banana. I'll agree that it is a challenge to identify the flavour. Possibly a juicy fruit gum taste?! It is definately tasty tho, imo ;)

Just have to say Rave: I love reading your posts! Although they are brief & you may not feel that you express a lot in these little posts, but to me they pull me in with your descriptions & make me want/yearn to be away from the suburbs & to experience what a wonderful peaceful place you live in. I know you are an accomplished artist but are you an author as well? If not, you really should be!! I would definately buy one of your books...even if it was just a diary style, a day to day reading of the small wonders that you awake to.....
Thankyou for the moments of pleasure that you describe!
