OK Blues, I have to ask... what's the Four fried chickens and a Coke thing about?

There was a movie quite a few years ago called "The Blues Brothers." Jake (John Belushi) and Elwood (Dan Aykroyd) go to a restaurant owned by the guitar player (Matt "Guitar" Murphy) and his wife (Aretha Franklin). Elwood orders dry white toast and Jake orders four fried chickens and a coke.

Starsong, I don't get out much. I don't watch TV or movies. I spend most of my time around animals. Shiny objects easily amuse me. And Raven is one of two best friends I have in this whole world.

Did you know you call tell fortunes with Turkish coffee sludge? After you drink the coffee, turn the cup upside down and let the sludge drain into the saucer. Then turn the cup right side up again. Look at the patterns the sludge made on the sides of the cup. The shapes might suggest something to you, like if you see a heart shape, tell the drinker that there's romance coming their way. You get the idea. It's fun, even if the fortunes you tell never really come true.

I'll have to try that next time! [insert fortune teller smiley here]

I've seen the Blues Brothers a couple/few times (we're on a mission from God) but didn't remember that line... but it has been a while. Thanks for the memory jog :)

haha, I actually got all my stuff last Friday, but got so lazy over the weekend!

I just tell it like it is or was, once you been there you have to own it. I even find it funny now, sure as heck didn't back then.

Sitting down, facing forward.
I've been watching the comments on FB. I don't use FB or Twitter at all. After being in IT admin for years I'm a bit of a paranoid and see no reason to put anything online that I wouldn't say publicly. Given the level of "security" that they don't guarantee it's something I don't want to be at risk from. Where my wife works it seems like everyone is on both and almost everyone of them has had ID theft problems traceable back to one or the other, and a few of them have been hit more than once. It boggles my mind that they just keep right on using those sites, I guess you can't cure stupid. Guess I'm "old school", the phone, email and actual eyeball to eyeball contact seem to work for me, although I tend to avoid the phone (long story there).

I can tell you this for a fact. When I was still working I was responsible for hiring new Engineers in the NY and Philly Offices and Corporate HR would forward copies of any social media sites that the applicants belonged to that reflected badly on the perspective applicant. I couldn't believe some of the pictures or posts these young folks would put out there for the world to see. Needless to say I would get instructions from HR to show them the door if the stuff they posted was too over the top. I have always schooled my girls on the damage FB can do to their future job opportunities, it was painfully obvious to me that this never occurred to most people.

Hi, Konty - hey, what was that DIY sweetener you were talking about before? Is it better for coils than Sucralose?

I think morri, kia2 and MrOutlaw can tell because they have samples of it. It seems it doesn't leave an aftertaste or anything else.
Keep in mind anything that doesn't have to do with the vaporisation process (water, VG, PG) is most likely to end up as gunk on the coils. Or most of it (some of it gets carried within the vapor droplets)
Sweeteners tend to do it more than flavors and other stuff.

Sitting here downloading the new iOS for my iPhone. Didn't do it last week cuz I wanted to see if there were issues, but hopefully everything goes well like it has in the past. I don't qualify for the new phone til next year, but that's fine - I'm happy with my 4s.

Yeah I like my 4s too. Installed ios6 only thing I see is google maps and YouTube are gone. Never used YouTube, also a new app called passport was installed. Some slight visual changes over no biggie.

I never used YouTube either. Have read that the new Maps program isn't all that great. Looking forward to trying out Passbook as soon as some more useable vendors are added to it. We need a Smokeless Image app, that keeps track of your points and automatically applies whatever the current sale coupon code is and notifies you when something you tagged is in stock :)
