I have to ask....Do you notice that you started using higher levels of flavor as your vaping time went by? I've started mixing my own liquids and usually start off with half or three quarters of the "recommended" flavor level and may adjust up or down from there according to my own taste. I am wondering if you have ended up increaseing flavor as time has progressed and your taste buds have changed/adjusted/

Two months ago I started with 24 nic and that's all I cared about was getting the nic in my system. Now I'm finding the nic taste too strong and although I like 18 in the morning, I like 10/12 the rest of the day. I'm thinking it won't be long I might like 6 or 0 nic and the flavor more. I'm caring more about the flavor than the nic content.
That's probably a good thing.....unexpected, but good. :)

Mine has been fairly consistent since I started vaping over three years ago. My sense of taste never really returned. It could be a neurological issue. All of my nerves are wonky with the MS. When I mix my own nicquids, I almost always have to double the recommended amount of flavor, if not more!

I was curoius because I'm only three months into this and want to know if it's something to expect as time goes by. I stared at 18mg and have aready dropped to 12mg of nicotine and I'm starting to think about dropping that down to 10mg the next time I mix. I've also found I'm dropping the flavor by a percent or so each time I mix. It makes them more subtle to me which is something I seem to like, plus it makes mixing even cheaper LOL.

On nicotine, I just watched a segment on TV where comments were made that nicotine may contirbute to Alzheimers due to its direct actions, chemistry, on the brain. I don't think I have to worry about that too much, not much to act on as it were. That bothers me since most medical resources seem to feel that nicotine is in a class with caffine. Then again, on this segment, they were blaming smoking for diabetes because "it makes you gain weight that leads to diabetes", and I thought nicotine was an appetite supressant. I guess TV is causes diabetes 'cause you're inactive and tend to snack when watching it which makes you gain weight that leads to diabetes. To take it one more step....eating causes diabetes so don't eat!

Really?!? I read the opposite just recently that nicotine helps prevent Alzheimers.....and as far as weight gain, the only time I have majorly gained weight is everytime I quit smoking. I haven't gained a pound with vaping. I think they had that wrong.
And I've read articles that say caffine is good for you, too. (In moderation....unfortunately that's the hard part for me....I love coffee)

Yes, really. I don't want to be dismissive of new research, new techniques and methods can provide information that may contradict what has become "established" thinking and norms, but this one seemed kind of off the wall to me. It kind of makes me wonder about the integrity of what I was watching. Like I said, don't want diabetes? Don't eat, you won't gain weight and you won't get diabetes, at least by the line of logic that was in use there in my opinion, anyway.

They get a lot of things wrong about nicotine. Since you've begun vaping, have you ever had to go a few hours without? I never feel the same desperation that I did when I smoked cigarettes. I can go for hours without vaping, if need be. If I'd had to go hours without a cigarette you'd best be wearing body armor before approaching me. Nicotine is not the great demon it is made out to be. It is all of the other chemicals that are added to cigarettes that kept us addicted. :2c:

I've also heard that nicotine is helpful with Alzheimers, Parkinsons and MS (as well as other neurological disorders), depression, weight control, and even gastroenterological issues.

As a matter of fact, I have noticed that. I would go crazy without a smoke after a few hours. Now I want to vape, but you're right, there's not the same desperation. When I started vaping about the second week I was going thru bad withdrawals in the afternoon so I would vape thru it and I was ok. That's when I realized I was addicted to the accoloids in the cigarette, not just the nicotine. I also use to think it wasn't the smoking action I was hooked on, I thought it was the nicotine. Now I see differently, because the smoking action with the vapor and inhale is very relaxing when mixed with the flavors (did you read my post about my heavenly experience with the Sweet Jo coffee flavor I just got! OMG!). So my "addiction" was way more than nicotine for sure.

When I smoked, I HAD to have that first cigarette in the morning or I was someone to stay away from. I admit that I usually have that "first vape", but if I don't it's no big deal at all. The thing I find different is that it's so easy and convenient to vape, you can start and stop after only a drag or after a carto/clearo/CE3/tank worth or anywhere in between with no problem. That does lead me to vape more than I might have smoked, but most times it's just a drag or two rather than a cigarette equivalent. I guess that's progress.

I do suspect that the Md that made the comment about nicotine and diabetes has an axe to grind. He's made some other statements about smoking and nicotine that contained, what I believe, unfounded statements or incorrect information and has commented on vaping with information that is just not correct. So the actual information may be very suspect, the problem being that it was broadcast on a major network.

I'm noticing I still want that vape in the morning but after I have it I realize I really didn't need it that bad. And I vape much more on the weekends because I'm home and I can. When I'm at work I can only vape on break or if I sneak it in the bathroom or the stock room. I'm a vape-stack (smokestack?) in my car on the way home, though. I wonder what people think.....that woman is smoking a magic marker!

And as far as misleading info about vaping....I think big pharma and the govt want to mislead to get more anti-smoking anything people on their bandwagon. They want the control....and the $$$.

(hope I did that link right....never linked in the forum before)
There's groups that are trying to get the real info out. CASAA - The Consumer Advocates for Smoke-free Alternatives Association - they have a blog I have bookmarked about what info they are addressing when it happens. (CASAA News Blog)

Yep, I see that - this place is a wealth of info. When I am bored and on the computer I've been checking out and reading all the other forums. Might not understand what they are talking about all the time, but if I learn one new thing a day then that is good.
I'd like to see our freedoms protected, too. Makes me mad that the mainstream media controls everyone.....or tries to. Journalist should be reporting the facts....not their (or anyone else's) agenda.

Morning to everyone.
Speaking of coffee.....I love coffee. I like my coffee with Stevia and the fancy liquid creamers (yeah, I guess the sugar in the fancy creamers kind of cancels out the Stevia... I drink diet coke with my big mac's too!! LOL) I just made my first somewhere else e-juice purchase because I wanted to try some other flavors while I'm waiting for SI to get their new juice line in....can't wait anymore. I ordered this Sweet Jo from Mom & Pop's and it came a couple days ago. All I can say is OMG!! It is the most heavenly experience I have had since I've been vaping. I like all the other flavors, but I have never had anything like this yet. I am truly having an experience here. (I'm laughing at myself and you all probably know what I'm talking about but I'm still new at this - 2 months in.) I didn't know you could truly "smoke" your coffee!
Just had to share with someone. (I don't know any other vapers but you guys here in the forum) :)

dwsizme, I just recently tried Sweet Jo too. Since I don't usually like coffee flavors I ordered the 10mls. After I tried it I put in another order for the 30ml bottle. That juice is delish!!!

I'm a chocoholic and love Mom & Pops Newtella (Nutella) and P-Nut Better Cup (peanut butter cup). Also their Covered Ape. "Ape" is banana. lol And covered means covered with chocolate. Some of their juices have funny names. :)

I just started mixing my own stuff a couple of weeks ago, and found my first batch crazy strong at the nic and flavor levels I usually order premixed juices in. I'm wondering if that has something to do with the freshness of ingredients (nic/flavors - maybe more potent when they're new?), and have been having to step things down because of that, just to match the weaker stuff that I'm used to...but me, I've been a flavor junkie since day one, and I don't think my preference has changed any. :)

...and thanks a lot, Marlou...now I'm back to craving Nutella and Peanut Butter sandwiches! :grr::laugh:

I think I just need to break down and have something sweet and decadent. Last night I dreamt that I was in heaven eating a mountain of powdered Donettes! And how did I know it was heaven? Guilt free and didn't gain any weight!

Those sound good, too. I just ordered - on top of the 30ml of Sweet Jo - 10mls of Grape Ape and Butterfly Bait. I read a thread and they were all giving their opinions of the Butterfly Bait and it sounded good. We'll see. :)

haha, that's what I've been doing - haven't had sweets in over a year, and have lost a ton of weight to the point that all my clothes look like pajamas or hobo clothes.

But now I think I need to break down and actually eat something, because the cravings get triggered way too easily. And I haven't seen any flavoring for powdered Donettes, but I did see one for chocolate covered donuts! :p These!
