When I woke up in the hospital after 31 days in an induced coma I freaked out big time when I couldn't move my legs...

I would have to. Well I did freak out when Justin was born I had to have an emergency C-section so they gave me a spinal,no one told me what to expect well they didn't have time to I was hemorrhaging but when I woke up and couldn't feel my legs and they had wrist restraints on me I went into full blown panic, plus I didn't know if Justin was alive or dead. I think that was the worst thing I have ever been through.

How long did it take you to regain feeling in your legs? How did you cope with all that after you came out of your coma?

I crashed on June 8th 2009 at about 8am at Virginia International Raceway, had my 8th surgery October,9 2011 that's when they finished fixing the nerves. I had relearned how to walk by early January of this year and went for my first ride since the crash on March 15, 2012 and turned the bike over in the driveway . I went out again the next day but paid more attention to putting my feet down when I stopped to turn onto the highway... Of course my first ride was witnessed by the wife and half the club so I hear about it all the time. Point is never give up if it's what you love to do! For the longest time I thought I would never walk again and I can dance :rickroll:

As I told you guys earlier, I came down with a cold the morning after Halloween. This has been the weirdest cold I have ever had. I don't think I have ever sneezed so much in my life to the point of not getting any sleep. No sore throat, but I had a horrific headache. I'm finally feeling better after getting a full night's sleep last night.

I've been busy since Saturday playing with my new toy. My bank gave me a gift certificate, and I got a new iPod Touch with it. I've never bought any toys for myself before -- it was always computer stuff that was work related in some way. So I set up iTunes software and downloaded all my CDs -- whew, that took awhile. Then synch'ed that with my iPod. Then set up iCloud for my PC and iPod. After playing and putzing for 2 days, I discovered the online iPod user guide -- it's 137 pages long for crying out loud. I'm sure I will continue to discover all kinds of things to do with my new toy. Now I just HAVE to get me some accessories, right? I need a case, oh & of course I'll just have to get one of those lanyard thingies to carry it around. Plus I guess I absolutely MUST buy some new tunes, too. Oooooppps, this could really get ugly for my budget.

Wow, lots and lots of pages here since my last visit. Glad to hear everyone is starting to return to some sense of normalcy after Sandy. My heart goes out to the families of the victims. Lots of folks still don't have power, so I am keeping them in my thoughts as well.

Rave, Cindycated -- I also love spinach and sometimes eat it right out of the can without even heating it up. I do like fresh spinach better, though, especially right out of the garden.

Awsum, sure hope that Nor'easter misses you guys. Not just you, but all those folks up in the northeast already have their hands full with no power and getting things cleaned up, plus I know lots of people are still in shelters. Whew, almost too much to take sometimes. Oh, and I also hate texting and talking on the phone. But I plan to check out the FaceTalk feature on my new iPod (just in case).
I have a question-after you have vaped for 6mos or so did any of you cough a lot ? I've had a persistent productive cough for about a wk now,I'm not sick, and I don't feel bad, just wondering if this is my lungs getting rid of the crud from smoking all those yrs. If that be the case I don't want to take a cough suppressant

Raynes, I developed a horrible cough about 8 or 9 months into my vaping. It continued for 3 or 4 months for me. At the time I didn't think it possible to cough up that much mucus, and I guess it's probably different for each person. But I had been a heavy smoker for 38 years, so I'm sure my lungs were severely damaged. Now, I almost never cough, and I'm not even coughing with my current cold. Plus I just realized I haven't had a single sinus infection since I quit smoking and started vaping. I would say if you're worried about it, maybe you should see your doctor and see if a chest x-ray is warranted.

Is there another kind of cooking as well as microwave??

Well ....... it seems to be the most popular! But I have to admit I do a LOT of one-pot cooking.

:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

Rave, I loved the nature pics. I need to get out of this house and go to the mountains ... and soon.

 I'd rather be boiled in oil than go shopping on Black Friday. Just sayin'.

My sentiments exactly.

1st Officer, you are ONE. TOUGH. COOKIE. You are a great inspiration to those of us that have supposed "limitations" as defined by our doctors or families or whoever.

Congratulations on your toy Moonstruck. I'm sorry to hear that you are still sick, but I'm glad that you are feeling better. I was a heavy smoker to 2-3packs a day for 30yrs atleast. Guess our coughing spells was delayed b/c all that crud had to be loosened up. After you go through all that coughing we have you sure don't want to even look at a cigarette or I sure don't.

I bet the first time you straddled your bike that was the greatest feeling in the world. We are both lucky to be alive much less walking.

Raynes - Blues wants to thank you with all his heart for the offer of vet supplies, but he says they have that covered. Now - if you happen to know of a good nor'easter repellent, I'm sure that would be appreciated. Man, the timing of this is going to hurt a lot of people. :(
Please tell Blues,if there is anything I can do all he has to do is let me know, that offer always stands. I wish that I did have a nor'easter repellent. Yes it is and animals and all we can do is hurt with them.

Ist Officer, you are one tough cookie.

I'm impressed by this amazing group of people that has some major health issues and just keep on ticking and giving the world the old one-two punch. Keep up the good work, Raven, Raynes, Moonstruck, 1st Officer, Bluesman and the whole lot of you.

This is the bike that tried to kill me but it lost I killed it instead and I keep what's left in boxes in the garage. I ran number 13 because I got my racing license when I was 13 and didn't have a major crash until I was 49. Won't be doing that again but it was fun while it lasted. :D

So much changed over the years. When I first started racing they called them Cafe Racers and they had a top speed of about 135. The one pictured here would do zero to 100 in 3.3 seconds and had a top speed of 220 mph. When I dumped it I was going about 165 according to the radar guns in the Pit. All I remember was thinking this is gonna hurt and woke up a month later hurting like all get out. I even missed the helicopter ride to the hospital and I always wanted to ride in a helicopter, just not like that.

And I do so enjoy it but everyone is hunkering down for the winter so I don't have many opportunities to stir the pot. :(

Officer, I had an actual cowboy buddy in Oklahoma that used to say, "It don't matter how long the stick is that you use to stir the ..... with: you're gonna to get some of it on you."
It still makes me smile. Thanks for the memory.

(well, I tried to self-edit, but the forum still replaced it all with "....". :D)

Lizzie how are you and the little pony getting along and how is Penny doing?

The little horse is still cute as a bug. I haven't had him out carting for about a week. I did work with him inside his pen for a couple of days during the last seven days. I had him doing circles and backing up. Worked on stand. The farrier was out last Tuesday and so the little guy had his feet trimmed. We finally have them down to where they should be!!

Tomorrow I need to get him out of his pen and work on walk and stand and no bucking!!! I'll probably take him for a nice long walk up the road with an eye to having him behave himself even if he gets scared of the dogs in the yards or sees his shadow.

Little Penny Poo Poo was getting too much meds. Hubby called and talked to the vet. We have her cut back some and she is more lively now. So far, so good. No seizures. She is playing with the toy again although not as much as before the meds. She likes to kill the toy, tell the toy [she barks at it until she decides it needs more killing], corner the toy and pop it up against the wall and she likes to chase the toy when you throw the toy. She is so cute with those toys. I'm hoping that when she gets a little more used to being higher than a kite all the time, that she will be even more like her old self.

Thanks for your pics and story 1st Officer. I have been in a helicopter once. I went as a birthday treat a couple of years back. It's awesome - quite different to a plane. I was in the front seat next to the pilot and it is like flying around in a bubble. It feels like there is nothing between you and the sky in front of you. If you get the chance to just go for a small flight on a chartered one then I can recommend it.
We did have to get used to the way the helicopter turned in the air. It is kinda sudden and we felt a bit queasy the first couple of times (but pretended we were fine of course). :D
I hope your MRI scan came back with a good result.
