Hey there Blues! Good morning (again). :)

I guess you caught me in Voltville instead of working out. Yeah, I know. I'm goin', I'm goin'.

Thanks everyone, for your kind words. Uncle - you're the best.

No - there will be no book in the works. I only write because my memory is like Swiss cheese. Writing is like messin' around with a second language. It's awkward and uncomfortable. But these are things that I wanted to remember in full. There are other things that I'd rather work toward. I need to get back in the saddle too. ;)

Hello, Raven, and Hello to everyone else as well. We are still recovering from Hurricane Sandy. All the animals are doing fine, that's what means the most.

SandySu, I lost my right arm in Vietnam (and I was born a right-hander). If you need any help with your current situation, I'd be glad to help.

Good Afternoon folks, hope everyone voted. I was just going through the last 50 or so posts to make sure I didn't miss anything (while in my foggy state yesterday) and after reading them all I think we need to lobby Imagine to change the name of this thread to "The Land Of Misfit Toys" we sure are a crippled up bunch! Who knew? :D I guess that's why we all understand each other. While I'm on that subject the Dr. called and wants to schedule another surgery to replace the screw I bent, he says it's a minor thing and I shouldn't have to stay but one night. I think he needs the money for the last payment on the house my insurance company built him. :grr:

I agree get out and vote people. I did the early voting in CO so my vote has been in for over a week. Exercise your rights as many Americans have died so we have these rights and its your duty as a citizen to understand the issues and vote.

Been there... Done that... Long lines but the sun is shining here so there is no excuse not to go. This is the first truly beautiful day that we've had since the storm.

Sitting down, facing forward.
missing a few marbles too, been hit in the head too many times, and the list goes on and on but I'm lovable.

I know I have all my marbles, you can hear them rattling around when I shake my head.

Voting was really heavy. We normally vote around 7PM and get a number like 30. Today we voted at about 3PM and got numbers in the 330s, ten time the turnout at 7PM at 3PM. For a little tiny town like ours, that's amazing.

Hubby asked and they told him at the polling place that they were getting about 100 per hour. At that rate the whole town should be done before 3pm:)

What kind of saddle? Horse? Motorcycle? Other?

Thanks, Blues. I'm learning what it's like to be like you. It's something most of us don't think about often. I've been remembering a girl in college who lost an arm, and even then, I was impressed at all she could do. And I'll always remember a show I saw as a kid on "You Asked for It." Anyone else old enough to remember that TV show? There was a woman without any arms who learned to type with her toes! Whenever I curse my recent injury, these people give me inspiration. I say to myself, "Yes, you can do this. You can learn to use your left hand more, and it'll make you better, more balanced, for developing your little-used side."

Now we know what's wrong with you, a loose screw! You're not alone though, mine just don't show up on MRIs or xrays.

Now I'm wondering. I had an MRI once, and they were very careful to know if I had any metal in me, like maybe once I might have gotten a metal splinter in my eye or something. I thought you couldn't have an MRI if there was metal in you because the magnetism would get messed up or move the metal or something. Now I have a plate in my arm, and I just assumed that would mean I couldn't have an MRI anymore. But you have a screw, probably holding a plate like mine, and you had an MRI. How does that work?

Same here -- a beautiful day. The first here since about a week before the storm. We get a lot of rain & cloudy days here, but I was getting stir crazy, and today I walked to the physical therapist and back. It was so nice to get out and moving again. Pat kept worrying I'd fall, but I told her that there's nothing wrong with my legs!

Looking at the weather report for tomorrow and Thursday... that nor'easter is still headed this way. Starting with rain then changing to snow. Temperatures are suppose to plummet. The sunset this evening is spectacular, very red sky. I heard or read somewhere that happens before a storm. I hope I'm wrong about that. Those poor people in NJ and NY don't need this on top of what they are going through now. I pray that this storm goes out to sea... :|
