Thanks for the coffee Lizzie, I got some good news and some bad news yesterday at the Drs. Since I am "vaping" rather than smoking, the Dr. changed my status to NON SMOKER
. Now she says my blood pressure is up, so I need to cut down on salt, coffee, red meat etc and eat whole wheat, oats, and bannanas. So now I will be a vaping horse monkey At least my Dr. sees the advantage to vaping even though there is some nicotine in the juice.
PS: I see that I was missed yesterday. That is a nice thought from Bluesman. I was running errands all day with my wife as well as semi-annual Dr. visit. Besides that my wife claims I spend absolutely too much time at the computer.

I clicked on this, and I have to brag. Bill, who's getting dressed for work in the bathroom nearby heard the first guitar notes and said, "That sounds like Stevie Ray Vaughan." Sharp! Bill loves the blues and knows a lot more about that genre and rock music in general than I do. In fact, when I met Bill, he's the one who turned me on to the blues. I never appreciated that before Bill.

This is a western horsemanship halter class,I picked this b/c its a good demonstration of how horses read and respond to body language. The way the handlers move their horses around is the EXACT way a mare moves her foal around, or the lead mare establishes she's the boss. Anyway I hope it helps.

There are a number of Lipizzan stallions shows out there, and the Spanish Riding School is definitely the best.
Good stuff. I have been teaching Wiseguy "circle" since I thought it would be a good cue for him and he would have to pay attention and not get ahead of me when we are walking. I can see where good technique of stoppimg, facing the side of his head and having him circle would be a great idea.
Rabbit I feel your pain. I've ate salmon, cheerios,fruit until I feel like I'm growing gills,work all night,go to the gym come home, sweat with the oldies and then try to be a human pretzel. Your Dr. didn't tell you to start exercising?
Are you talking about YouTube? It's not you, since apparently you can see sites I suddenly can't. I'm wondering why I suddenly can't.
Another good technique while leading is to work on getting him to go at your pace, and if you start backing up, he does, too. When I had to hand-walk Penny for months when she tore a tendon, I never realized how poor her leading skills were. Sure, she went fine from the pasture to the barn, but when we started taking long walks, all the holes reared their ugly heads. I took my dressage whip along with me. I'd carry it across my body to form a kind of line that she couldn't cross, and if she started pushing ahead, I'd stop her, tap her chest with the whip, and she'd have to back up a few steps. Sometimes it seemed we backed more than went forward when we were heading home. Circling Wiseguy might be good when he's getting ready to spook at something. Sometimes giving a horse a job to do distracts them from whatever they find scary.
