I sent Bill Godshall an email thanking him for his testimony before the FDA, and I understand that he was at a Vapefest in 2010. He is an ex-smoker and vaped for a couple of hours at the event using zero nicotine in an e-cigarette. Although he works for an organization called Smokfree Pennsylvania, he is on our side in promoting personal vaporizers as an alternative to smoking.
I believe his email address is as follows. I got it off of and old internet posting:

smokefree@compuserve.com

Here is a link to his commentary after being at Vapefest in Fredericksbury VA:

Sorry folks, my head aches from listening to this :censored:

......Pharmacokinetic bracketing provides an opportunity for pragmatic evaluation of Bio-equivalence.....

Funny thing is the longer I listened to this esoteric pharma gibberish the more I seemed to understand it.

I am just going back in my wabbit hole and take a long winters nap.

haha, i know the feeling. this speaker gives me a headache, the lady who sounded like she was going to cry made a vaild point i think. at least to me she seems like she wasn't really for or agains smokeless e-cig, but more for a strong regulation of them.

from what I've heard today, the e-cig isn't really regulated, and companies are required to say that their product is only for adults 18 or older if they choose to have an adult only targeted audience. Seems like the gasstations or wal-marts out there, are just going based on the fact that they look like cigs, therefore we sell them as cigs, but nothing would legally stop them from selling to a minor.

Did i gather all that right?

I have almost come to the sad conclusion that the FDA will end up regulating almost everything that has a remote connection with tobacco, nicotine or smoking. But can they legally justify regulating a box mod personal vaporizer that is being utilized with a USP food grade generic liquid containing no nicotine?

I don't they even realize that an 8 year old can go to Radio Shack and purchase all of the items necessary for a Box Mod PV for less than $10.00 and make some generic juice (whether it tastes good or not) using USP Glycerine from WalMart and flavors from hundreds of supliers. Prohibition did not work for alcohol or drugs and it won't work for smoking or guns for that matter.

OK through ranting. Have a Nice Day!

The questions being asked by the panel are not indicating a high level of intelligence.

When one of them actually used the phrase 'common sense' I almost lost it.

These are government bureaucrats we are talking about. Intelligence nor commonsense are to be found among them. They just want to make it look like they are doing something to justify a paycheck, never mind who it hurts.

I understand what bj voice lady is trying to say. and i dont think he's understanding fully. To answer appropriately would be to point out that you can develop smokers cough with in the time that e-cigs have been active. She's wondering if it's possible to tell that tobacco has harmful effects in 6 years or so. Being a trap question of course. the answer is yes, and the trap therefore avoided.

I don't know if the members of the panel don't understand the benefits of NRTs and smoking alternatives or if they are just not concerned with it. They showed the most interest in labeling and nicotine levels. I don't expect them to do anything but more of what they always do......regulate something out of existence.
