Good Morning, Volties.

8 degrees outside but a toasty 73 degrees and rising inside:)

Time to haul a big bucket of hot water out to the goats and the horse. It was a beautiful sunrise this morning with the wispy clouds turning a brilliant pink. Another day to stay inside and pretend like I got something important done.

I think I'll go through my supplies and do some refills on my tanks and a little DIY. I've been meaning to do the blueberry and the juicy peach.

Hope everything goes well, Sandy.

I remember having an upper GI series many years ago. They gave me something to drink in two small, maybe 4oz cups and I thought "no big deal, this is a piece of cake!". Then, in the xray room there was a technician at a milkshake machine mixing up four of those 1 quart cups for milkshakes. Yeah, it all got used up, tasted like nothing I want to taste again, and the kicker was they kept telling me to "hold that swallow" as I drank the stuff. How the heck do you hold a swallow?

The FDA is yet another example of a committee in action - more than one belly and no brain. Committees are used so there is no direct responsibility for any of their actions. Great system!

Had that once... doctor wanted me to have it done again recently... I told him no way. I had it done 10 years ago and that memory is still too fresh! Unless I have problems and it's deemed necessary for my survival... Oh No Way!

Another procedure... the BARIUM ENEMA! Inserted in the nether region... the absolute worst most undignified procedure ever invented by man... tube held firmly in place by an inflated balloon... table rotates... NEVER AGAIN!!! 8-o

No need to panic YET

You will still be able to buy from many Internet vendors, but it may put some very small mom and pop stores out of business depending on the amount of regulation here in the US. Great Britian already has strict rules on e-cigs and Personal Vaporizers and those folks are still vaping.

One more photo, and then it's off to bed for me.

This one looks like UFOs are visiting Trumansburg, but that's a trick. You guessed that, right? I took a shot in a glass door and the ceiling lights shone, but everything else is a reflection of what was outside the door.

The main problem could be exporting eliquids outside of this country. Also UK and EU intends to increase their restrictions. I believe that is a model that the FDA wants to copy.

I had the same reaction. Had the proceedure at age 60. Dr. said everything OK, will see you at age 70. I said "Not if I have a say in it" Never again, too old, too ornery, too skinny, too ugly, and many other reasons.

OK no more talk of this nasty subject for today8-o

Sitting down, facing forward.
I know you're asleep right now, Debra, or at least you should be (LOL), but that's a nice photo and you should get one up on the Freebie thread. Another battery or some liquid will always come in handy.

I' sort of a "doomsdayer" when it comes to the FDA and vaping. I'm building up my supplies of nicotine, PG, VG, flavors, delivery devices and battery systems just in case. If they want to follow the EU model I'd love to know why, what "scientific" evidence its based on other than vaping looks like smoking. If it comes down to it, I guess I'll just be breaking another law or regulation which, given the sheer number of laws and regulations already, is inevitable anyway.

I don't think you will be breaking any laws. If the US FDA tries to "BAN" e-cigs they will be in for quite a fight. Anyway, how can they ban a mechanical device which can be duplicated with minimal effort by a 10 year old? Heck, I was building HI FI Receivers and radios at 10 yrs old.

Stocking up on nic base etc. on the other hand, might just be a good idea, however my DIY efforts so far are not worth a Tinkers Damn.
I view this just like prohibition, or the extremely high cigarette taxes. When cig taxes went up to $1.00 per pack by the US Government, I stopped buying premades, purchased a stuffing machine and made mine for $7.00 per "carton", and they tasted much better than name brands. They could tax nicotine juice however and that would be a shame.

Yes Sandy, its Tylenol. Its VERY liver toxic. A person that overdoses on Tylenol is going to have liver damage. Yet its still on the market. Doesn't make sense does it?

I knew Tylenol could harm your liver, but I thought that was if you drank alcohol while taking it. I took a lot of Tylenol when I broke my arm. The doctor said not to take ibuprophen as it hinders bone growth. I sure hope my liver's OK. Would I have symptoms if it wasn't, or will it just give out someday?

Well, if you build a zip gun you're breaking some laws (at least here in the Nanny State of NJ) so I think the same would be true if you build your own PV. It does depend on the exact wording of the laws involved though. For that matter they could outlaw, either by law or regulation, the mere possession of nicotine any higher than what they might whimsically limit it to. Either way I know I'll be an "outlaw".

I was thinking kinda along the same lines. Since I now almost exclusively DIY, how would they control that? As posted here, you can buy PG at a tractor supply store, and VG at Walmart. So it would be the nicotine base mainly. Flavors? Well, I currently use mostly flavoring from Capellas, and a lot of those are labeled as flavors for water. Are they going to ban those? Haven't looked, but can you buy nicotine concentrate from other sources than e-cig vendors?

How would they ban hardware? What would be classified as vaping hardware for regulations? Here in Phoenix there are still head shops that sell bongs. Everyone knows people buy them to smoke "illegal substances" but technically they are for smoking tobacco. What would stop a shop like SI from declaring batteries and clearos as portable hooka devices?

On the other hand, we still need to be careful. One thing I like about DIY and using Wizard Labs for my bases is the confidence I have in the quality and labeling of their product. I wouldn't be surprised if some juice vendors are people working out of their house with no real QC.

I remember reading a thread somewhere on this site a while back about a vendor that screwed up and was sending out nicotine labeled 100mg that was actually tested to be well over 200mg. People were getting sick thinking they were basing it down to 18-24mg but were actually inhaling 36-48mg. Those kind of mistakes could be crippling to our habit.

If they do go crazy with regulations, I will just plan on having enough nicotine supplies to last me a long while, then start to slowly wean myself off of it by basing it down until I hit 0 nic if I can't get it anymore. I don't see how they can ban the PG / VG or flavors.

My ex-wife took a lot of Tylenol for migrain headaches. She took them like candy. Actually caused a condition the doctor called whiplash headaches. Headaches from taking too much Tylenol.

Today she has liver problems. Due to the Tylenol? Don't know, she was a walking medicine cabinet.

Me, I am blessed in that aspirin always works for me. I remember years ago having a bad tooth ache at Christmas. Not wanting to go for emergency services I tried everything. I remember standing in the Home Depot parking lot looking at everyone, and trying to remember what it was like to not be in pain. Finally in desperation, I took some aspirin. Within a hour the pain was gone. Still needed a root canal though....blech.
