Things have been depressing lately. People are ill or dealing with physical problems. We are worried about the future of vaping. Not to mention all the problems the world is facing. Sometimes it just seems hopeless. If you are feeling even a little bit this way, here's something to inspire you. I heard this lecture on the local NPR station a while ago while driving to work, and I wrote down info so I could learn more when I got home, but I never really pursued it till now. This is a lecture by a teacher that is inspiring, humorous, and has an innovative approach to teaching social studies. Go to World Peace Game Foundation and click on John Hunter's TED Talk. TED is an organization that searches for innovative thoughts to inspire us and make the world a better place. If you're wondering, TED = Technology, Entertainment and Design. That doesn't really tell you much, so if you're still curious, See TED (conference) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia for a more in-depth description and history. I hope at least some of you will enjoy John Hunter's speech as much as I did. He is definitely a person who is making the world a better place.

LOL. looking at the post number for this one - it could almost be a transposition!

Kon-too funny! wish I was 1/2 as proficient in tech stuff! :toast:

I have been playing with computers since they first came out in the 70s. Wrote my own programs for years in "basic", when you had to start computers with a floppy disk. Kids do not even know what a floppy disk is now. The last 10 years of my employment with a small bank, I was the Chief Information Officer - Network Manager. I still have a lot to learn as things change every month in this business.

Another winter photo: crows in the top branches of a tree.

IMG_0035_zps6f70278b.jpeg

For some reason, we have a lot of crows here. They eat road kill, I know, and being out in the country, there's probably more of it than in more settled places, but I really don't see a lot of road kill on our street, so I wonder what brings them here. This was one of my early attempts at photographing birds, when I didn't have a zoom lens worthy of it.

OK Volites I have again updated our group picture to add new friends who sent in photos.

Volties_zpscff22d91.jpg

Finally it worked, this is a pain in the you know what folks, but it is worth it to see you all.

dwsizme, you need to send me a good picture.

White Rabbit, thanks so much for doing this.

(snipped a little)

Try Capellas, I got apple pie, chocolate fudge brownie, stawberries & cream, harvest berry, gingerbread, orange creamsicle, etc. Every flavor was dead on with no perfumy / soapy smell or taste. I have been buying mine at High Desert Vapes.

Mark

I'm placing an order with HDV as well. I've been successful with most of my juices, but I've heard great things about Capellas also. I went a little overboard with TFA flavors, mostly just being a noob with DIY and trying to get everything in one place. WL's flavor prices are the cheapest, but sometimes the cheapest aren't always the best.

So thanks, Mark, for confirming the quality of the Capellas flavors.

I finally had a chance to try out the Crystal clearomizer that came with my iGo Revolver kit. It has the replaceable coils like the T-3. It looks a lot like the X2 clearomizer holding 1.6 ml. And the X2 clearo tip fits in it. So they pretty much look identical, except this one has the replaceable coils. It came with 1.8, 2.4 & 2.8 ohm coils. I like the 2.8 one the best for my vaping style.

Hope everyone's having a fantastic day.

Today, in spite of snow falling gently, I walked the few blocks to my physical therapy appointment (and then walked to the center of town to treat myself to pizza). Julie, the PT, went over the report the doctor sent her, which was pretty much gibberish. Yes, in addition to legalese, they have medicalese. She translated. Pretty much what I gathered is that the ball joint in my shoulder is not sitting well with the socket. I guess it may always be out of kilter. Meanwhile, we both acknowledged that I've improved a lot and keep improving. She didn't have a chance to speak with Dr. Young, the surgeon, nor did she get x-rays. She suggested the best way to get the x-rays might be for me to call them and request them. When I got home, I did, and it turned out that I had to go down to the doctor's office and sign for them, then I got a disk with the x-rays on it. I drove back to the PT office and delivered the disk.

We discussed some issues about how to do my exercises so my back isn't made worse. She massaged me, and it seems there's a lot of muscles that need that massaging to loosen up and feel better. Sometimes I sort of rub them at home, but I'm afraid to get as aggressive as she does for fear of not doing it right and doing more harm than good. I think the pain I still feel is weather-related, though I can't quite figure out how, since sometimes I hurt when it's sunny, then feel better when it snows. The coming and going of pain doesn't seem to be related to anything else. She did mention that the steel plate in my arm might be exacerbating the situation, and maybe that's why Dr. Young wants to remove it. Who knows? Till we know more, it's hard to figure out what's really going on. I do know that the main source of pain is where the break was and the plate is. Sometimes it's pretty painful, and sometimes, for moments at a time, I'm pain-free. When that happens, I get this wonderful feeling like endorphins are coursing through me. It's a wonderful feeling. I remember this from before, when I was recovering from sciatica. When I didn't hurt, it was like a natural high. I think it's beginning to get me down to hurt nearly all the time, though. The pain usually isn't so bad I can't go on with life, but it's always there in the background. I forgot to ask her whether I could use a heating pad to help it go away. Maybe that'd work, but I don't want to try it till I check first. So that's a rundown of what's going on with me lately.

Are you sure you typed it in correctly? If the day you were born is a single number, like 7, sometimes you have to type 07. Just some suggestions to try. Why are they asking you for your birth date, anyway if it's a battery for your mobile phone? Is that how they do it in Australia? Generally, I don't have to give my birth date unless I'm buying liquor or something like that, which they won't sell to minors. Are you sure they aren't asking for the expiration date on your credit card?

yes I did it a few times...checking with my bank to day...with what happen..maybe my brain....had some bad out...that's a black out folks....see what I mean.........
