That happens around here sometimes Deb. I swear the house actually feels like it is bending some days when the wind is really up. We haven't had but a few winds like that so far this year. We might get a bit of wind and some snow today. Guess I'll have to go get some firewood a bit later.

Stay safe. The creek flooding would be a bit much:)

its a old house this one..thank god we had this 40yr old tree chopped down...I hated to see it go...but I reckon it would be on top of the house if we hadn't...$7ooo at the time was dear to pay...to have it chopped...so glad we did

Sitting down, facing forward.
Vamo my first review:

First, the batteries Panasonic Industrial high drain CGR18650CH took forever to charge the first time, over 9 hours, but perhaps it is the inexpensive Trustfire Charger I bought.

Second, it is nice using VV to dial down the voltage to 3.0 or 3.1 on fruit juice. It really brings out the flavor. On my X2 at 3.7 I found the flavors of peach or orange to sometime be harsh, however at 3.0, they are very mild and flavorful. On the other hand, my tobacco flavors taste better at 3.8 to 4.0 volts. I have not gone beyond that point yet because I don't want to take a chance on burning up my cartos, not knowing all of the details on how to use this device yet.

Three, it produces a rather airy draw, but provides lots of vapor with SI Cartos. ( I purchased an adaptor so I would not have to buy 510 cartos. I love SI blanks). I have not tried my Mini Vivi Nova, which did not work well on my X2s (for my tastes anyway).

Four, IT IS HUGE with the 18650 battery installed. I may have to purchase the smaller 18350s and just use one to decrease the size, however I need to get comfortable with it before making any other purchases. At full length it does not fit well in my shirt pocket where I usually carry my X2s

Five, I like the various digital readouts telling you the battery voltage, Ohms of any carto or tank which is installed, and being able to change from VV to VW (which I have not tried yet). The Stainless Steel model seems very well made, and mine had no defects as some have reported like cracked or misaligned screens, mialigned threads at the top and it came with the upgraded strong battery spring which many have had to purchase separately to keep the battery cap from overheating.

Overall, at less than $50 for the basic mod (without batteries, charger, adaptor etc) it provides all if not more functionality than the ProVari, but not the reputation of course for being a high quality device. Perhaps that will change for the better or worse as more people comment on the durability and build quality.

Nice review, Wabbit! I almost pulled the trigger last night, but had just bought a bunch of hoses and fittings for an auxiliary/emergency heater. Now, I'll probably pull the trigger later today. I'll never catch up to what I'm saving on tobacco, LOL. I'll consider it an early birthday present for myself. Now where'd I put those fired .223 shells?

In terms of efficiency, two 18350s is the way to go. The boost circuit doesn't have to work at all until the batteries start to drop below, say, 2.5 volts or less under load. Given that 18350s have less than half the mah, usually about a third, rating of an 18650 but, if used stacked, last as long as an 18650 does. I never wanted anything big, but being able to go all day without worrying about having a spare battery, or four, around would be really nice. I still love my 78mm autos though, they're just so darned convenient.

The RMS mode is supposed to be the cats meow and the dogs woof of vaping. If it's set to a specific wattage when you change delivery systems it maintains that wattage even if the resistance of the delivery system is different. Sometimes I wonder about that, though. Just the difference in wicking from a CE3 to a carto to a T3 might make the same power level not such a good thing and require adjustment anyway. That's just my mind wondering, not based on any experiences or anything I've seen, so far, online.

Batteries are capable of tremendous current output for short periods of time. I was at a class on alarm systems, Ademco, years ago. The instructor took us out to the parking lot with a 12volt 4 amp hour gel cell. He opened the hood of his car, disconnected the positive battery terminal, used jumper cables to the gel cell, and started his car. Keep in mind a car starter can easily draw well over 100 amps while starting a car. The point being that you do need to be careful not to short them out. A gel cell has two adjacent terminals, but vaping batteries have the terminals at opposite ends, which makes it much harder to short them out. Carrying them in your pocket, freshly charged, with your keys in that pocket might not be such a good idea though, unless the batteries are in a plastic case.

Konstantine, I'd love to see the discharge curves if you do analyze them. That would be great to see real world type information rather than the ideal stuff normally supplied by manufacturers.

Okay - Jumping in to say a couple of things that might be hopefully helpful . . .

First, As far as I am concerned and IMO - Nothing compairs to the Volt Product line and the service of Smokeless Image, especially when you are looking for something similar to what you are use to and easy . . . However, even with that said there are times "you" will find that youmight need something more . . .

Now without a doubt - YES - The GV Threads can be a little intimidating and can get a little "rough" depending on who is there and who is trying to out do the other. Matter of fact, there are some people who I would never ever introduce any of you to :nah:, however there are a lot more really great people there that would be more then willing to answer anyone's question and/or discuss "Stuff" with "You" :D like "Modrod.", "AG51" (aka "anita"), "tiburon" (aka "tibs"), "IThrenodylI", "MaxedOut", "Psyche", "CountSmackula", "thehangdude"; "kritter", "Prism" (Who also happens to be a PIF Moderator), "Lauralie" (Who is also a "Voltie"), "burns_erin", "Ccat","harmonic"; "SnakeSkinTa", "Reddhott", "Slowone2", "Adeana" & "keelalagirl" (GV Supplier Associates) and "badkolo" (aka Chris and one of the Partners of GV) I could even go on with a few more ECF Names . . . All These People Are GOOD PEOPLE and very helpful, just as "We" Volties are here . . . I would even suggest that any of "You" could PM any of them that I mentioned with any question you might have and they would be more then willing to answer you . . . Just Tell Them That Uncle Sent Ya' (but I wouldn't mention that in the thread if I were "You" - Just sayin' ;) ) . . .   (BTW: These people know "Me" and are also ECF Friends of mine that have also helped "Me" at times too  . . . :D)

@ "Wabbit" - Just as an FYI: already a Mod out there called "The Silver Bullet" . . . Just sayin' ;)

@ "JoAnnW" - The "2Cent" is a little device (aka Fuse) you put in Mod to protect from short circuits, especially if you are using a APV/Mod that has a large battery . . .;)

Here is a Very Good Review here - from one of the few excellent reviewers out there - "IGETCHA69"/"Scott":
(Matter of fact, he is the one I go to first to see if he has reviewed the item I am interested in . . . ;) )

I Do Hope This Information Was Helpful . . .:D

Thank you Uncle for the extremely helpful and IMPORTANT information.

Uncle thank you for sharing Scott's video about the vape safe fuse. After seeing that video I'm just going to have to "sit on the porch and let you big dogs run". However, with the fuse the bigger devices maybe safer than anything else on the market.

I'm in full agreement with you on that Raynes!

I'm using the panasonic about a year. Very nice bat, can discharge with 10Amps.
I have also a samsung that can discharge at 22Amps... You can jumpstart cars with this one.
On mods i believe it's far more power than requested.

And yes it was your charger, you need a stronger one for these batteries.

I'm going to have to analyze all of them with a pro analyzer i have so we can see the performance.

After you do that, don't forget to give us your recommendations!

The VapeSafe may be a good idea for basic style devices that use 18/16series batteries. The newer versions of devices, with VV and or VW capabilities all seem to come with both over current shut down as well as protection from devices with too low a resistance, sort of a marginal overload, condition. Even so, it can provide an extra layer of protection. I do wonder what the response time of it is, in terms of milliseconds. If it is really "fast" it could also, potentially, protect the electronics of the vaping device as well, but it would need to be extremely fast as in microseconds.

Kico, you either need ice skates or cleats on your shoes!

Debra, $7000 to cut down a tree? Around here you can generally get a neighbor to cut it down if they can have the firewood. I'll be cutting a couple down myself, giving the wood to my neighbor and getting him to use his chipper to take care of all the branches from those trees and the stuff I have hanging around from Hurricane Sandy and the high winds we've had.

I am starting to wonder where Blues and Rave got to. 1stOfficer basically said he wouldn't be posting here anymore about two month ago. I talk to him via email and he's doing fine, laying in lots of DIY supplies, just in case, like many of us are doing.

I have been testing the Vamo after church for about an hour. Tried the VW setting at 4 and 5 watts on SI Cartos and Mini Vivi Nova, and did not see a big difference either in vapor or taste. My Mini Vivi Nova tastes one heck of a lot better on the Vamo than it did on the X2s. It produces an airy vape, not "hot" at all but still produces volumes of vapor.

What is REALLY nice is that in VV mode, reducing the volts to 3 or 3.1, the flavor of my homemade juice is Soooooo Much better. With the constant 3.7 Volts in the X2 I frequently received a burnt taste from my DIY mixes, but reducing the volts down I can really taste the peach and orange as well as the peanut butter and chocolate. I am thoroughly enjoying my Wizard Labs Peach with a drop of orange it is so fruity which I never thought I would ever enjoy.

Catch you all a little later. Keep Warm for friends in the US, and Debra, continue to stay inside and safe. OH, thanks Awsum 140 for the comebacks, I think you will be satisfied if you pull the trigger on the Stainless Steel Vamo. At Exhalevapors.com, the 40% off coupon code is : 40PercentOffECF

Wabbit - You did it, not that it took much of a nudge. I used the code and bought the body from Exhale and batteries, chargers and a pile of adapters from Smoke Tek. Now, I'll be stalking the mail box, once I get shipping notices. I'm never gonna save as much, ahhhhhhhhh!

Speaking of saving, you know that line so many people have about how much they saved not buying analogs? I wonder how it equals out when you think of what that same person spends on vaping paraphernalia. I think a conservative person might still get off more cheaply, but an extravagant person wouldn't. Has anyone calculated this for themselves, or do we all just not want to know?

"Raises hand". I do a lot with Excel spreadsheets, and in the workbook I track my bank accounts, I decided to do a sheet on vaping. Every month I add $120 I would have spent on stinkies, and if I order anything vaping related I deduct it from the running total.

As of today, I have saved exactly $201.17 vs buying cigarettes at $30 a carton.

Bear in mind, I just got another back up of 500ml 18mg base, giving me a total of around 800ml in the house. Not to mention the many bottles of flavors. I was going to try to go the month of January without buying anything, but reading about the FDA made me place another order with WL.

I also own 4 X2's and 6 functioning T3's, and about 6 CE2's, so I could go for months without spending another penny, but I confess I am eyeing the spinners. I also want a couple more back up TE3's and heads, but not feeling in any rush atm.

Ok, have a great day everyone!

Debra, praying for you.

Mark

That is awsum:laugh:

I really think you will not regret your choice. Although the Vamo is HUGE, the vape on mine is Sweeeeeet! Almost all of my flavors are much tastier for some reason. Shipping from them is fast also. I got mine in three days. By the way the 7mm/08 shell casing is just about the right size if you have one to glue onto the fire button. I used a hack saw to first saw the end off of the casing, then used a Dremel Tool to polish it down "very thin" before gluing it onto the metal button.

If you can't find one, I should be able to get a few more from my neighbor and send you one. I think a 22 Cal will be too small, and anything larger would not work either. I just lucked out, knowing my neighbor hunted deer.
