I can't imagine how it would feel to see someone just as if you or I were standing having this conversation only for a person to tell you they aren't there. How it would be to be afraid to speak b/c your not sure if the voice is real. How it would be for someone to tell you, your not "normal". How utterly alone and scared they must feel b/c no one can look beyond their abnormalities to see the person inside or try to feel their pain and their frustrations. To have people be afraid of you,b/c your "different".

I feel like this a lot. I stopped and thought about your words and they hit home.

Here's to all of us weirdos out there!

I grew up in the mountains of West Virginia. When winter arrived, Dad would always go up into the attic and retrieve the snow tires for our cars. He would then take a Saturday and drive to the tire shop and have the snow treads mounted for his and my mom's cars.

The local TV stations rarely talked about the storms, unless it caused wrecks or power outages. Normally it was left to the weather forecast. I cannot recall a single time where my mom ran out prior to a storm to stock up on milk and toilet paper.

Yes, and I'm the same as your parents. I have studded snow tires on an AWD vehicle, and I have plenty of milk and toilet paper just because. I went shopping the other day because the weather was nice and I was running out of stuff like milk, though I still had plenty of TP. I stocked up on fresh fruit and a few other things. Not because of snow coming, but in general around here, if you don't want to unload groceries from your car in snow or rain, you better do it on a nice day.

Not too many people that understand.
Thanks. :)

Hey - on a happier note - I just did my first DIY last night. Toasted Almond. Turned out decent. Someone posted a link a few pages back - was it you - to a guy with a how to blog. I read what he said to do....mix everything except the nic, boil hot water in the microwave, put the bottle in the boiling water (after you take it out of the microwave), let it sit for 10 minutes. Take it out, let it sit for another 10 minutes. Then add the nic. Shake. Then it sits for 30 minutes on a shelf. Shake. I let it sit overnight. Tried it this morning and it was pretty good. I did end up adding 3 drops of Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, just to sweeten it a little more. I like sweet vapes. I was impressed with my bad self!! :vapor:

Yea! I'm still vaping my first creation of sweet tarts.

For you Wizard Labs fans - they are taking orders again.

Tail I never understood the reasoning down here in the south of all the things folks stock up on its bread and milk. Canned meats, beans galore stocked to the roof and you couldn't find a gal.of milk or a loaf of bread if your life depended on it. When I was a kid I asked about it and not even my Grandparents knew,it MUST be a southern tradition.

I think the reasoning is, those things get delivered daily to be fresh, and if there's some reason they can't be delivered, the store will run out. They probably have a storeroom full of canned goods.

I was going to order with Wizard Labs, but they referred people to MFS. I was impressed with the delivery, the packaging, and I like the flavors so far. Prices were ok.
And got a supply of nic in the freezer (kind of like stocking up on milk for the storm, huh?)

I've gotten a couple of orders from MFS because of the referral. I did place one with WL to get some flavors that MFS doesn't carry. Both are fine shops, IMHO.

I've got plenty of nic left, but expect I'll be ordering more next month prior to any FDA announcement.

That's why I decided to DIY. Hopefully nothing bad will happen with the upcoming FDA recommendations....but can't hurt to stock up a little.
And it will be cheaper if I just go ahead and learn how to do this DIY stuff now anyway.
I did find out I need better measuring instruments. And the funnel I bought was too small. I'll learn.

Wow! It really is snowing. It covered the bare spots fast. Here's a photo looking out from my house to the street taken about an hour after it started.

Sitting down, facing forward.
We've got a break in the storm at the moment. Very light rain only, but the wind is starting to blow out of the north more than the east now. The temps are dropping, back down to 35 after hitting high of 40 before noon. We're well stocked, pantry and freezers and have a generator if the power does go out and backup heat as well, broke down and bought a Big Buddy propane heater and it keeps the whole house warm on low, even when it's down in the teens!

I do feel bad for the folks down at the shore. There will be flooding from this one and they haven't recovered from Sandy, not even close.

Me too dwsizme. I thought that if anything drastic would happen, I'd better start DIY'ing!

Here's a nice set of little funnels: Amazon.com: Norpro 3-Piece Stainless Steel Funnel Set: Kitchen & Dining The two smaller ones are the best.

Thanks. I want one of these (or two) too: 213C2 Karter Scientific Glass Graduated Cylinder 3 Piece Set 10, 50 & 100ml: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

Don't like the syringe thing I got from walmart. MFS didn't have the glass one I wanted. So I didn't get it. Now I see maybe I should have gotten the plastic one at least. Would have made things less messy.

Will be saying prayers for both of you - for all of you on the east coast!

You folks getting into DIY, I use syringes for almost all of my measuring and pipettes when I need really small amounts. I have 20ml, 10ml, 5ml and, of course, 3ml syringes and 1/2ml pipettes. I use a 14ga blunt tip needle for nicotine, PG and premixed base, 18ga for measuring flavors and no needle for the VG because it's so darned thick even at room temperature. A trick is to put some Scotch tape over the graduations on all the syringes so that they don't wear off. All it takes is a quick rinse to switch liquids. I do all my mixing right in the bottles so there is no pouring needed, no funnels needed either. I mixed 200ml of base and an additional 75ml of flavors today using this method and it only took about a half hour.

I have a plastic 10ml graduated cylinder that I use. I did pick up a 5ml medicine dropper last night from the grocery store. I'm curious to see if it helps any. If not, I've got my pipettes to use!
