I'm not either Cindy. The only reason I married my hubby was b/c he can cook.The only reason he agreed to this arrangement was I sicced my Rottweiler on him.LOL, I'm not much of a cook/baker, so I think I was thinking I was gonna flop. But nope, they turned out pretty darn good, dagnabbit!
I think Hubby will be okay. His face and ear are swollen and red on the right side so we are keeping an eye on that! I think it is going down a bit since yesterday.
I feel okay but I didn't do anything I didn't have to yesterday. I basically cruised the internet and commented on my favorite websites.
I did go out and snuggle the little horse and give him a carrot. He was really kind of getting into being rubbed on and getting scratches and loved but I got so cold I went back into the house pretty soon. He looked like " What? Where you going? Come back." I'll be handing out more carrots to make sure he wants to come to me. I haven't been doing carrots lately
Not top drawer but not really sick. I can live with that. Have to do a small cleaning job today. Thinking about going into town to do a bit of shopping when I am done.

Maybe he's starting to shed, and he's getting itchy. When I groomed Penny yesterday, a few stray hairs came out. Not really shedding yet, but it's the first signs. I think they love to be groomed best when it's shedding season.
As for coming to you, does he generally do it? One lapse isn't so bad. Penny generally doesn't come to me, but she stands in the pasture watching me come to her. I've tried everything I can think of to get her to come when I call, but nothing has worked. I mentioned how like a queen she is. I think she feels I've got to go to her, not vice versa. I'd worry more about it, but it's generally not a problem. It does help if every time you interact with the horse, you make it an experience he or she enjoys. I know sometimes they have to work for a living, just like the rest of us, but even then, if they aren't truly upset or in discomfort, they don't really mind it and may even enjoy getting out and doing something. Carrots will work, but be careful not to make them a bribe but a reward. There's a fine difference, but the horse knows the difference, sometimes better than the human does.
I'm glad you're taking it easy and not wearing yourself down. That's the way to keep strong so you don't get sick. I hope Hubby feels better and the swelling goes away. I'm sure he feels better getting plenty of TLC from you.

In the pen he generally comes to me but obviously once outside the pen he did not!!!! Jan used to give him a carrot when he would come when she whistled. I have gotten away from that. I like to whistle him over, pet him, get the rope around his neck, rub on him, get the halter on him and then he can have his carrot
I probably just need to train him to come to me from other areas of the yard using a longer rope. I just hadn't thought of it.

The doctor at Urgent Care gave him Tamiflu. Yesterday I looked up rash and flu and couldn't find much. Today I looked up Tamiflu and rash. It turns out that is one of the side effects you can get from taking Tamiflu. I swear going to the doctor will make you sicker than not about 80% of the time
He is going to quit taking the Tamiflu and we are going to keep an eye on him to make sure it doesn't get worse. If it does, it will be back to the doctor. I'm thinking about giving him some benadryl since that is good for almost all kinds of allergic reactions and I read where one guys doctor told him to take benadryl.
Well gotta get busy and start feeding horses. It was storming here earlier. I don't get it,let it rain and they won't leave their pole barns for anything for fear they will melt. After it rains they wallow in puddles.
I just love all the new medications to cure whatever might wrong with you, or you think might be wrong with you, just ask your Doctor and he'll write a script. Then they talk about don't use this if you are a living, breathing being, don't use this if you have hands and feet, don't use this if you eat food to live, may cause a third eye to sprout on your forehead, may cause your left arm to fall or shrink, may cause a male to become female or vice versa, some instances of sudden death may occur. Contact your physician if you have any of these symptoms.
Think about this - We humans put on coats and hats and use umbrellas or hoods when it rains. Then we stand under a shower or sit in a tub of water or even go to a pool or the beach and dive right in. Kind of ironic in a way.

OK - Rave =- great to see you posting again! Give Blues my best. I can understand the slow recovery. Tell him to hang in there and NOT get discouraged. Hubby slept 18 hour days the 1st 2.5 YEARS after his massive. No surgery. He has what we refer to as "the dead zone".
He's also on Paxil. Not sure what really got him motivated to get up and out again. I suspect a little bit was my coming home from a staffing for the lil monster (9yr old foster son - yes Son - he still stays w/ us and calls us his family). I told hubby I didn't care if we lost everything - I was not putting up w/ the brat another day - almost left the grocery cart (nearly full) right where it was in the store that day. Then next morn I awoke - panicked - no one upstairs and it was 3 hours later than my usual rise and shine time. They came in lookin like Pete & RePete - jeans, cowboy boots, caps, same smirky smiles like they'd been up to no-good. Hubby had decided that morning he wasn't dead yet, he was going to go when he could and rest when he had to - the rest as they say is history. Have they said what Blues "output" is when his heart contracts? That will definitely affect his energy level. Hubby is at 10-15%. He sleeps alot and since a couple other spells - is harder to wake when he is asleep. You two just take care - know your greatly missed but take care of yourselves first.
Raynes - I was surprised during the night (awake off and on - listened to Wx Chan). I didn't think much about it - you southerners have the night time tornadoes to worry about far more than we do. Got to thinkin about the kid (above) out in the semi - wondered what they do. Sent him a couple apps for his phone to at least be able to check ahead. He's driving in this blasted wind almost back to Minnesota.
The ankle is still a bit sore and stiff - but working on the flexion ... Sinus pain is getting better too. Must have found "doctor Kon" in my sleep! Funny pic you had there Kon!
Back to my question about diluting stronger juices and no vapor. For the heck of it I poured the stuff into a vivi nova and put on a VV batt. Moved up to the #4 - much better. Sure wonder what the deal is tho. My stuff may or may not be in the mailbox. If it weren't so windy coming back up I'd walk out to check!
Next question: SI's Spinners: I see they have the T3's listed as part of the package. Can the Clearo's be used on them?

It might be easier to catch him if freedom wasn't such a novelty. If you can fence off the whole yard and let him out when you're there to supervise, then he may not get so excited when he does get out. I think using a signal to come like a whistle is a great idea. Just be sure to use it every time.
