The doctor at Urgent Care gave him Tamiflu. Yesterday I looked up rash and flu and couldn't find much. Today I looked up Tamiflu and rash. It turns out that is one of the side effects you can get from taking Tamiflu. I swear going to the doctor will make you sicker than not about 80% of the time

He is going to quit taking the Tamiflu and we are going to keep an eye on him to make sure it doesn't get worse. If it does, it will be back to the doctor. I'm thinking about giving him some benadryl since that is good for almost all kinds of allergic reactions and I read where one guys doctor told him to take benadryl.

Tamiflu causes neck swelling? I didn't know that.
I'm a person that doesn't read the side effects of any meds that I am prescribed for fear of getting nurses syndrome ---in nursing school we have to study so many diseases that we get to wondering if we may have them. It passes after you graduate. Anyway,I'm afraid that I will imagine that I am having a side effect from a med. Here while back when I had that bout with 5th's disease my Dr prescribed a medication and my neck started getting stiff. First I thought I may have slept it on wrong,by the third day my neck kept drawing to the left. Well I started thinking where I could have injured my neck,couldn't think of anything. After a wk I was in some kind of pain and a co-worker looked up what I taking. Under rare side effects--neck pain. So I stopped taking it.
When I went back to the Dr my neck was still slightly drawn and he wanted to prescribe something else. After a few minutes I finally said," You know, I don't mean any disrespect and I know you know what your doing,and you hate for your nurse patients to try to dictate their care but if you'll just prescribe me a low dose of prednisone and some flexeril,and write that drug down as an allergy I'll be most grateful." His reply was,"There are other options." I said "Yes sir,but the other option we just tried I could have been a double for Linda Blair and I prefer my head looking forward and not backwards".

Oh Awsum! I love those X-10's! Had it set up at our other house. Key ring would turn on the accent lights from outside!
1 button for 3-4 lights was great! Even had a stick light under the bed! It cast a pretty cool effect on the lower walls going thru and eyelet bedskirt! (Sortta like the effect of an up-light going thru the plant leaves onto the ceiling. Still looking for that pic. Don't think I have one tho.)

Our house still had the old tube and knob wiring. When the stair switch (push buttons!) quit upstairs, the X-10 switch sure fixed that problem!

Jeesh, knob and tube wiring, I haven't seen that for about forty years (there goes that age thing again). Maybe a re-wire would be in order, just for safety and to have enough outlets handy.

It might be easier to catch him if freedom wasn't such a novelty. If you can fence off the whole yard and let him out when you're there to supervise, then he may not get so excited when he does get out. I think using a signal to come like a whistle is a great idea. Just be sure to use it every time.

I would let him run around the yard but I have poisonous plants in the front half since I am a gardener. I tried it once and the little turd walked right over and tried to eat some locust tree. I couldn't decide if it was black locust so I [which is poisonous] so I clipped his rope back on him and now I just walk him with the rope on.

I talked to Hubby about finishing up the back fencing. There is a bout two acres that the horse could run on that I got all forms of cherry and black locust out of. Round pen and finishing the cross fencing will be our two top priorities this spring.

The ankle is still a bit sore and stiff - but working on the flexion ... Sinus pain is getting better too. Must have found "doctor Kon" in my sleep! Funny pic you had there Kon!


Take care all - out to check on the "kids" and make sure they have water! Chaff sure helps the footing when the sun is out to help it stick to the slick spots!

Glad you are feeling better with the ankle. Sounds like your Hubby is doing better too although with heart stuff it can take some time.

I just love all the new medications to cure whatever might wrong with you, or you think might be wrong with you, just ask your Doctor and he'll write a script. Then they talk about don't use this if you are a living, breathing being, don't use this if you have hands and feet, don't use this if you eat food to live, may cause a third eye to sprout on your forehead, may cause your left arm to fall or shrink, may cause a male to become female or vice versa, some instances of sudden death may occur. Contact your physician if you have any of these symptoms.

Beautiful! "Poor Man's Orchid" as hubby says! I have a white one to move to mom's this summer - still haven't figured out where to put it. Originally came from here - geese killed off mom's but an aunt had some - so I got a clump from her. They have the most heavenly aroma! Don't know how to describe it but when mom's big patch was blooming the whole yard smelled wonderful!

Think about this - We humans put on coats and hats and use umbrellas or hoods when it rains. Then we stand under a shower or sit in a tub of water or even go to a pool or the beach and dive right in. Kind of ironic in a way.

(I'm putting on a waterproof coat, hat and hood to walk Bo right now, it's raining here)

I have the BEST BIL in the world. I started to walk to feed and he was already feeding for me. It takes me forever now when it rains as I have to walk so slow and watch where I put my feet.
You have a point Awsum but what is the difference is wallowing in a cold mud and getting rained on to come to the barn and eat?
Winter rain is cold. In summer I love walking in the rain,getting soaked to the skin.

Some people swear by clicker training. I've tried it, and it just seems easier to say "Good girl" and then give her a treat. That works about the same and seems more natural to me. Here's a good site to learn about clicker training horses. The Clicker Center

I agree with Sandy,I keep alfalfa cubes in a bucket with me. When one of mine does what I want I give them a cube. It works just the same without a clicker. The thing is reward the effort,keep their esteem up. Training should be fun and relaxed for horse and the trainer,well of any animal. If they get frustrated learning something new,go back and do an exercise they know and reward that.Think how you can make the new exercise simpler by breaking it down into small steps. I always end a training session on a positive note and a treat. If one of my horses are having a bad mane day I don't attempt working with them,their mind isn't on training and all it does is make us both frustrated.
Don't let them fool you either, they may pretend to be so happy to get in that round pen (and they are,for the treats)then you get them in there and they will do everything but what you want,even things they know how to do.That's why creating a bond and learning "horse" behavior is so vital. Never forget while you are learning them they are learning you to. If you go to train and your mind/heart isn't in it a horse knows that before you ever get close to them.Its far better on those days just for you and your horse to hang out.

OK, All kidding aside for this post

I have been at it again doing some DIY and so far the only flavors that give me are 4% Peach and one drop Orange TFA flavors from WL. Also Peanut Butter, Dark Chocolate and Hershey Chocolate (My Reeses PB Cup) Sorry I lost the percentages because of experimentation, but I made 30 ML and it is pretty good (not great).

My efforts at tobacco flavors just can't compare with my favorites Black Magic (EC Blends) and Huntsman (Heathers Heavenly Vapes). Those two have TONS of flavor and vapor. I have steeped Lizzie's blends for over two weeks and they are not too bad but as everyone else is trying to do I need a GREAT DIY all day vape.

Any recipies for GREAT Tobacco Vapes will be rewarded with new jokes, promise!

PS: What I do enjoy about the VAMO and I am sure the same goes for the SI VV model is that most of my flavors taste better at different voltages and you can dial in the flavor just right.

Meant to tell you -yes Sultan is "king" ; Habib, Molly & Spice are all meanies to Zane & Ameera ... not sure on the pecking order btwn the 3 tho ... with Sultan in proximity - Molly rules ... I really need another gate to physically separate them just while I'm dishing up. Once they are chowing down keeping Sul & Mol tied is sufficient. Til then Zane & Ameera stay just outside while the other 2 try to crowd & now nip at Molly if Sultan can't reach them w/ his backside.
[Once the 4 are eating the meek will eagerly come into their pen - not a moment before.]

They have figured out both arms up and wide means back off ... reinforced w/ a whip wooshed nearby.
I understand the pecking order ... but I sure don't like it. Sometimes seems like trying to give the meek a lil protection at dinner makes it worse for them when let out again. ?... grr ....
