I never had so many bad jobs as when I moved to NOrthern Nevada. People have mice living in their cupboards. Now, living in the country, you can always get a mouse but these people have mice nesting in the cabinets and running across their dishes and are doing nothing about mouse control. Ick!!!!

One lady had the cat pooping in the corner of the living room ON THE CARPET because "it was cold out and the cat didn't like going outside when it was cold" I tell people I have to meet them before I will agree to clean their house now. I feel sorry for them in a way because there must be something wrong with people that will live like that but I am done cleaning nasty houses.

When you said you had houses to clean, I thought you were cleaning houses that were up for sale or something like that. Houses that just needed a sprucing up to look like a picture in "House Beautiful" magazine. Never thought you did this type of cleaning! Sounds like the TV program "Hoarders". To think that people actually live like that... That's incredible!! I'm sure you must have been exposed to some horrid conditions. You are one incredible woman Lizzie!

Wouldn't it be lovely if their droppings were just as colorful? Then I wouldn't get mad when they hit my car! ;)

Bit of trivia, heard that birds don't actually poop, everything is "pee" even though it may be chunky.

Anyone using an AGA-T or T+? I have been researching these tanks since they look great on a ProVari or Vamo. The downside is rebuilding the coils. Lots of very intricate work to get the coil correct, and it seems you really need to turn it sideways, then back straight to get a good vape. I think I will stick with my home made carto tanks for awhile, they are working good, now that I have found out how to fill them without wasting juice.

Please tell me to stop looking at vaping "stuff"

STOP LOOKING AT VAPING STUFF!

Just got home from work, and changing to comfortable clothes while the dogs eat. Still feeling like crap, and tomorrow I work 1-10pm then have to be back at 7am until 4pm on Wed. I just want to sleep, lol.

I will say, it's tough for me to keep the house even slightly up. I have 2 dogs that shed all over the place, I can vacuum today and by tomorrow evening you would think I haven't vacuumed in weeks. Also with the tortoises in the spare bedroom (in a 4' x 4' box I built for them to winter in) and 17 aquariums in need of water changes it's tough keeping up on everything. My Bassett needs his ear cleaned and his nails trimmed, the other dog needs to be shaved and nails trimmed. And like I said, I just got home, and am beat, and now need to cook myself dinner. Not complaining, love em all, particularly the dogs so much, just saying that sometimes the housekeeping can lag a bit.

Now, trying to complete these shirt inventories, I have boxes of shirts strewn about and more to go through, lol. Don't worry, they are / were sealed tight by packing tape.

I will say, my dogs are good, if they have to go while I am at work, they go in the kitchen which is ceramic tile. Being that they are sometimes left here for 8 hours or so, I can't really get mad at them, and a doggy door is not an option with this townhouse. Man I love Clorox Cleanup, the cleanest place in my house is my kitchen counters (the ones without aquariums), kitchen floor and sink.

Surprisingly, I have not used any pesticides here since about 1990 and don't really have a problem with bugs. I have geckos that live around the lights over the doors and come out in the summer. I have a truce with the ants, they are welcome to do their thing in the yard until they bite me or the dogs, then I will break out the greenlight dust. Mosquitos can be a bit of a problem, but tossing my red guppies into the pond really controls them to a large degree. I am kinda picky about food, and usually put a lot of cereal type stuff in ziplocs to keep out the possibility of those beetles, and also the tortoise food which I buy in 30lb bags gets divided into gallon ziplocks. The dog food is kept in a big plastic container with a lid made for it, so extremely rare to ever see a roach and those are Kill on Sight! Besides, they probably squeaked in when I left the door open for the dogs.

Anyway, I ramble on, just wanted to say hi to everyone and post a link, which I will create another post to do so.

Have a great evening everyone!

Mark

I clean 4 houses on a regular basis now.

I used to do one time jobs and some semi-regulars that were, indeed, like that program "Hoarders" :) After several jobs like that I told Hubby I am just getting too grossed out and too old to be doing these kind of jobs and I now will not do any house where the people do not live like civilized human beings.

Isn't that cute. Mariska is a quite the horse.

I'm not trying to make anyone feel bad about their house cleaning. My house is far from Home and Gardens Magazine clean. I'm just saying that people generally clean up if the animal makes a mess or they trap for mice. They don't just let poop and mouses take over the house. That is gross.

Oh ya, I clean up any little messes, and didn't feel bad about your comments. It's just tough on your own sometimes. Stating a fact, not looking for empathy. On the other hand, you control all the messes you made. My schedule, working retail nowdays, is all over the place. No real consistency. Like now, dinner ended up being a hard boiled egg (old hehe) and 2 slices of toast with peanut butter, didn't feel like cooking anything more elaborate. A couple swigs of Nyquil for dessert and just waiting for it to kick in. Probably won't get to sleep until about 1 or 2 but too tired to do anything constructive now. Weeee I ramble.... might be starting to kick in....... so borrowing Debra's dots......I will sign off..........night........

I wouldn't want to live in a foreign country but wouldn't mind visiting now and then.
We will keep that in mind in case you visit Europe some time :D :D :D :D

There's a difference between US customer service and the products made out of China. I wasn't referring to the Volt products in particular as much as I was for all the other stuff that comes out of China. You know, all that stuff in WalMart? :) Refrigerators come to mind. My grandmother had an ancient one that lasted forever. I've not had much luck with mine. They wear out within 8 years or so. One only lasted 4 years and the repairs were as costly as buying a new one. Perhaps we've just become accustomed to being a throw away society, unlike our grandparents/parents that grew up in the depression. Or, I've become the luckiest lemon picker out there!!! ;)
That is called programmed obsolescense and it's 1) made to break, 2)cheap materials or poor quality. All for the cost. If you got the good refridgerator would cost 4 times more.

Hmmm, no Rave, Blues, or Konstantine. I hope they're all doing OK.
I am fine Roland, Still alive and sad but OK :)

Yeah. They need prayers. Kon was saying he was sick. Haven't seen Rave for a bit. I think she said Blue was on the mend but he wouldn't be here like before. Whatever happened to Holly? I enjoyed her posts. She was such a bubbly person. Hope she is ok wherever she is.
I got better, only my stomach bothers me a bit. I am hoping the others are fine too.

Thanks Mark for reminding me to stop looking and buying "stuff"

The AGA T tanks look soooooo good, but they seem to be a Pain in the A@# to make the coils. My "ugly tanks" work just great, are cheap to make, and once you get the hang of refilling, are good vapes. It is just like an ugly car that runs great, does not need repairs, and gets good gas mileage, BUT it is still ugly. and you would like something that is shiney and beautiful.

I keep accurate records of a lot of things like electric usage, finances, daily temperatures in the area, and of course my spending on vaping. So far in 5 months I have spent amost $500 which is WAY more than I would have spent on making my own cigarettes BUT I assume I am much better off physically. Haven't even wanted a regular cigarette in 5 months. I would really like to find a vendor for a replacement circuit board for the Vamo, since you can actually take the device all apart and replace everything if it was available. Currently the only site I have found is in China and they only sell the replacement boards in quantity. You would need a LARGE Co-op to order 50 Vamo circuit boards.

Thought for the day!: Why don't retirees mind being called Seniors?

Because the term comes with a 10% discount!

Good morning, Volties.

Looks pretty dark and cloudy out there today. Overnight low of 30 so pretty warm. Barometer has been dropping. I think it is going to snow!!! Probably not too many inches.

I guess I better drink my coffee [have some, folks] and get out there. I need to get my outside stuff done early:)

Hey, Kon, I have to run down to the post office and pick up a registered mail for Hubby..from Greece. Yeah, chainsaw parts from a guy in Greece, go figure. I think I'll wait until this afternoon to drive down there just in case the mail lady has it with her and is bringing it by today with the rest of our mail.

My cat goes out in nasty weather every day, but he has the option of using a litter box, if he'd rather. It's there, but it always surprises me that he'd rather go out in pouring rain or blowing snow. He will use the box if he's shut inside and needs to go, but if I'm there to open the door, he'll nearly always choose to go out instead. Cats may not like nasty weather, but they are surprisingly good at handling it with no ill effects.

If I had that cat, I'd start by putting a litter box in that corner where he goes, maybe putting a turd into it to give him the idea. Once he was using the box, then I could move it to some less conspicuous corner. Of course, you have to keep the box clean, or a cat will find an alternative when it gets too full.

Sitting down, facing forward.
It's a fairly nice morning here, temps in the 40's and partly sunny, but it is supposed to rain this afternoon. Overall, I'll take it over cold and snow.

Vaping has proven more expensive than cigarettes for me, so far anyway. All the new toys do add up. I have reduced the costs somewhat by DIY and, maybe someday in the not too distant future, may actually break even with what I would have spent on Marlboro.

I keep looking at tanks and just can't get too excited about them. They have a carto inside and I really like the flavor and vapor output of bottom coil "tanks" like the CE3 and T3. Then there is the whole price thing with "good" ones going for up to fifty bucks. On the plus side they are rebuildable and that's a big plus. I'm not wild about the Vivi Nova, either. The vapor output is fine, but the flavor seems off to me.

Thankfully, Bo was house broken when we got him. I sure wouldn't want him using a corner of the living room carpet for his potty! He has had a few accidents, but that's only happened when he was sick, before his spleen was removed. We do walk him regularly, every four hours or so, so he holds on quite well plus we all get some exercise, him, my wife and me.

I do a lot of the cleaning/housework since I'm home most of the time. I'm no "Mr. Clean", but I try to keep everything looking halfway decent. I guess I always understood that keeping a house looking like it was out of Better Homes was actually a full time job all by itself. As kids, my sister and I both had to help my Mom with chores around the house so I found out very early that it is real work, and fussy work at that if you want the best results. The big trick is that "lived in but not dirty" look, LOL!

Where would you find one? Yours or his? :w00t:

Smarty-pants! His, of course, and I bet it'd be easy to find one in that corner that he now uses as a litter box. I bet if the cat got trained to use the box, the next thing would be to get rid of the rug, since it's probably impregnated with cat pee, the smell of which is impossible to remove. Till that rug goes, training him to go in a different spot might be impossible.

Well, some people shouldn't have pets. I told my friend that she had to clean up the floor/carpet every single time the puppy peed and then use some doggie deodorizer - buy it by the gallon when they are little - and she didn't listen. She can't figure out why the dog still poops and pees in the house.

I told her that again when she moved to her mom's house and again when she moved to her new apartment. People just don't get that when you have a pet you have to learn about that particular pet's instincts and work with Mother Nature to get the results you want.
