In the Mood - Glen Miller
Glenn Miller-In The Mood - YouTube

Take the A Train - Duke Ellington
"TAKE THE 'A' TRAIN" BY DUKE ELLINGTON - YouTube

Both made with musicians playing together, not mixed track by track!

Those big band selections make me think of my childhood. My mom used to listen to this on the radio sometimes when my dad was out. I guess he would have complained about it if he was home to hear it, since he was strictly a classical music kind of guy. He was a musician, but he was pretty narrow-minded about music. One time I'll never forget, he called the Beatles' music "jazz"!

OK, now I'm burning with curiosity. What's wild asparagus? Is it the same as the kind you get in the grocery store but just growing wild, or is it different?

Actually it's way different than the grocery store one and more tasty. I'll take a pic if i can.
you can find 1-2-3 pieces grow on every bush, then go to another.

I looked on the Internet and found this, though the pictures aren't all that clear. Wild Asparagus - how to find them - YouTube

If you could take some clear close-ups, maybe I'd look for some, too.

Yes that's it. Here they are a little thicker here because of the weather but that' s it.
Gather some up. Only the tops and if it rains go to the same places again, you will find more.

It's another lovely spring day, though maybe a little colder with more wind than would be ideal. But I'm going to get outdoors today after I fold the laundry. As a parting gift, here's a shot I took right here in town. I liked how the facade of the bookstore matched the car out front. I wonder if it's the owner's car, and if the match is on purpose, or if it's mere coincidence. I've looked for that car to be outside the store since finding this, and I haven't seen it, so maybe it was just a remarkable coincidence. I also get a kick out of the store name. A green horse is one that's more or less untrained. Did the owner know this? I asked her, and she said the name came from another source. I think she said a movie.

Sandy, All of these tunes certainly "date us" don't they. The instrumentals from Herb Alpert, and Mason Williams were played until the vinyl wore out, and those who read this and wonder what in the heck is vinyl, might remember the 8 track :p

hehe, I was actually listening to Whipped Cream and Other Delights when I read your post!!!

Hello "Volties" . . .

Just stopping by the leave a few quick comments . . .

@ "Guns" - I've lived in the suburbs, out in the country (Boondocks really), a farm, and in a few cities . . . AND - As a child living in the country, I even was very interested and learned how about firearms . . . Also I was involved with using a rifle for "Target" shooting for a while . . . Until, the mid 60's . . . Then I didn't believe in anyone owning or having a gun . . . Even while living in NYC and while living on the streets for a while, did I ever want or need a gun - and still didn't believe in any one owning or having a firearm of any kind . . . Then I moved to Florida and went through a few hurricanes and the aftermath here - which IMO was worse then any of the times I have been though a major incident in NYC, including a couple of riots - some people here just get - TOO CRAZY . . . So let's just say I now own a 22 caliber pistol and am looking to get a 9 mm or Glock semi-automatic pistol (of course, along with the proper training and maybe a couple of Friends could help me out here ;) ) . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)

@ "Kon" - Get yourself a checkup, and if you can't afford to go see a Doctor there has got to be a clinic or hospital you can go to - to see what is happening with YOU . . . :)

@ "tail" - and all those going through health problems, sending all GOOD VIBES & Thoughts "Your" way . . . :D
(Personal Note: KARMA is a "B" . . . I can't wait to see those who rand-sacked YOUR home get their comeuppance . . .;) @ "Officer1" - You got anyone you can send out "tail's" way . . . ;) )

@ Wild "Asparagus" - and Fresh pick Blue-Berries & Black-Berries from the woods - YUM ! ! ! :D

@ "SandySu" - Still really likein' "Your" Photos . . . .

Okay - enough from "Me", I'm gong back to "lurking" and walking around the ECF Neighborhoods - So move along and go back to your normal conversations . . . ;)

EDIT: Forgot to say - REALLY Like Big Band Era Music too, along with David Brubeck - a Great Jazz Musician to say the least . . .Okay Done . . . :)
