The problem is owning a house, there's always a project that needs attention. Prioritizing is the biggest problem, right behind finances, LOL!

These are reasons I rent an apartment. It's in a house divided into apartments, so it seems more like living in a house than those anonymous, faceless apartment complexes, but still, when something breaks, I just call the landlord. The trick is to have a landlord who fixes things. I've had both sorts, and fortunately, the one I have now is fairly good about it. Also, he mows the lawn and does minimal gardening around the house, though there are no lush gardens or anything. Nothing fancy, but we're comfortable here.

So true, awsum, so true. A homeowners work is never done. I'd just like to wrap up what we have and then I would like to get a really fine looking, easy to maintain backyard with a solid roof shade cover over the sliding doors and french doors instead of the sliding doors. That is my goal for next year. This year, my goal is to finish up what we have started:)

The fencing has simply become a burr in my side since we started this at least 6 years ago and I know we have been busy and I know Hubby works a real job and I know that I can't get my muscles to do more than they are but.....can't we just bite the bullet and get 'er done? I would like to get my horse a friend eventually and really want the two horses to have somewhere to play. I'd like to let the goats out into the back area to eat weeds without me standing there with my do making sure they don't get into the front and eat my good plants.

Anyway, I am sure that we will finish this off this year and wrap up the last odds and ends on a couple of sheds this year. Then we can move on to the backyard which is bare dirt surrounded my flower gardens of iris, chocolate flowers, asters. It could look fantastic.

Wow... Chocolate flowers!? I'd love to see pictures of those if you have any. :)

Here are the kind of cone flower we have around here. They're also called echinacea, which I think is a medicinal herb, too, isn't it?

Those are nice. We have some of those in the front flower bed along the driveway. They might get a little bigger this year. Ours are mostly purple.

No more jury calls for a year!

On another note... because I had 24mg RY4 with me, I only had to take a couple of puffs that lasted until lunch break. Boy what a buzz!!
SI's RY4 is some good stuff no matter what nic strength it is! :p I had this in an Evod that holds 1.6ml of juice that was more than half full when I got home after 4pm.

During lunchbreak I switched up to 12mg menthol to wake me up. I had the RY4 on a 400mah mini Vision spinner and the menthol on a 400mah mini ego fat battery. Love those things for on-the-go because they last all day with plenty of charge left by the time I get home!

Added note: I sound like a traitor but I still love my Volt spinners too but I can only use T3s on them at home. Not good for me on-the-go... :(
I'm done with jury duty too this year. I got picked as jury member #12, but quickly got "thanked and excused" by the prosecution. It was a DUI case (didn't know they had trials for those), and I mentioned that I drank like a fish in my 20s and my brother died of alcoholism, so... I also mentioned that I quit smoking and switched to vaping, which I guess they don't consider actually quitting smoking. Dunno if that had anything to do with it too. But glad it's over. Whew!

Had to walk home from the courthouse - took forever (no bus money)! And I was so bummed that it was only 4.12 miles when I got home and checked on geodistance.com. Felt more like 20! :(
But then, I was wearing kitty heels!

I think they excused you because of the drinking connection, not the vaping. I can't believe you could walk 4+ miles in heels!

Omg - I would have taken walking shoes with me. You are a tough gal to walk 4 miles in heels:)

You wore heels for jury duty... Then walked 4 miles when it was over? Oh Lord!

I wore tennis and a sweatsuit for the comfort. It's allowed as long as it doesn't have any logo's.

We are paid a whopping $15 a day... yeah boy! Of course, that's about what it costs to park in the parking garage, or pay for lunch but it's not enough to cover both.

We get paid that much too, plus $2.50 for mileage. But they don't pay for the first day of attendance, which this was for me, whether you get picked or not.

...and kitty heels are half the height of my usual shoes, so yeah, to me they were pretty flat!
Don't even know where my sneakers are, let alone bring them with me.

Weather was nice and I got a little color back on my pasty face, so it was all good.

Cafe Verona is on.

Last time I had jury duty it was Federal but I got canceled two weeks in a row and that was that. Than goodness since Federal is all the way in Reno and it is downtown where parking is always confusing.

I got a notice for federal jury duty once, and it was way up in Syracuse. I applied for permission not to attend due to the distance, and they granted it. If Reno is far away, you might try that next time it happens.

I got called once to the courthouse in Ithaca, and I sat there all day while they interviewed people, but they never called my name, so I was excused. I was glad, since some of the questions they asked people were sort of personal, and it was there in a courthouse full of people. They also brought in the guy who would be on trial, and I thought right away he must be guilty, so I probably should not have been on that jury, anyway.

BTW, are you guys in Baltimore and thereabouts still having a heat wave? Has our cooler weather reached you yet? It's just about 40 now, will go down to 30 tonight, with possible snow. It's been raining for days.

I think today I'll go shopping. I just got an ad in the mail from BJ's offering a free 60-day membership, so I may go take advantage of that and check it out. I doubt I'd buy enough groceries for the 2 of us to justify paying for a membership, but the free trial offer might be OK. Also, BJ's is at the far end of Ithaca, an area I hardly have reason to go to, so the distance is a factor, too.

Sitting down, facing forward.
The heat wave ended here yesterday. It was in the 70's in the morning but dropped to the low 60's by noon. Today it's 45 with lots of wind and rain.

I've always looked at jury duty as an obligation that has to be met. Sure, it's a pain in the .... but on the other hand, it's part of what we have to do to maintain our society, such as it is. I've always wanted to serve on a Grand Jury, just so I can ask questions and irritate everyone!

You can't beat a free tial. We finally used the free trial shopping trip at Costco where I said I would never pay to shop. Turns out premium dogfood is half the price we were paying so the membership pays for itself with one item. We had a dog with allergy to corn in his dogfood but we have kept buying the "good" dogfood even though that dog is gone now.

Awsum, sounds like a little cooling off is what you needed. Too hot, too early:)

How's your water heater project coming along?

I'll check back later. Gotta get moving. Clean a house, go by the grocery store, get some gas. Big day:)
