Shannon - lol - DH preferred 3rd to 2nd shift. I'm just glad we didn't have kids when he worked shifts. At a couple of different times in our early lives we went 7 weeks and 9 weeks once without seeing each other because of his shift (including weekends) because the project went straight
through so he didn't have any days off (yep, that's 12 hr shifts, for weeks without days off) and he didn't get OT because he was salary.
The worst was 12 weeks. well the really 'worst" part of it was the hourly guy he worked with bought a $28,000 truck with the OT - DH was ticked to see 'proof" of what he could have earned that year if he'd been hourly. lol The guy had specialized tags with TRN40 - train 40 was the name of the unit where they worked.
