morning all! Nothing like a tornado warning to kick off your morning - and it's not even HERE - but it's in the TV viewing area (about 50 miles southwest) so the EBS alert went off. Did you know you can't change the channel during one of those?

Morning we had tornado warnings most of last night all over the area. The sirens came on a couple of times but I never watch TV cuz I'm always at the computer...lol

Shannon - lol - DH preferred 3rd to 2nd shift. I'm just glad we didn't have kids when he worked shifts. At a couple of different times in our early lives we went 7 weeks and 9 weeks once without seeing each other because of his shift (including weekends) because the project went straight through so he didn't have any days off (yep, that's 12 hr shifts, for weeks without days off) and he didn't get OT because he was salary.

The worst was 12 weeks. well the really 'worst" part of it was the hourly guy he worked with bought a $28,000 truck with the OT - DH was ticked to see 'proof" of what he could have earned that year if he'd been hourly. lol The guy had specialized tags with TRN40 - train 40 was the name of the unit where they worked.

Well luckily right now I get to work out of the house we have a little monitoring center set up in the office. I stay up till we get the kids off to school and sleep until they get home. Suprisingly hubby runs shod over the kids pretty well... or by the time they get up I'm in deep sleep one of the two.

Keyzygirl,

Some hospitals will put a cot in their rooms for family members if you insist strong enough. Maybe not if he's in ICU or recovery, but once he's in a normal room -- Get in touch with the Social Services and/or Pastoral Care Depts of the hospital and they can help you.

We're all praying/thinking/sending you strength -- Hang in there. The waiting is the worst.
