guys I'm giving some serious thought to trying a meal delivery service for weight loss. Somethings changed for me lately and I *don't* like going anywhere, being around people. I've become really reclusive and my weight gain is getting really out of control. Anyone have any suggestions for me?

Well, for me when I start to shut in, it's a sign I need to get out. Make myself be more social, and get moving. It's really easy to get into a habit of being a homebody, but then when I do want to go out, I notice a certain anxiety, that's not there when I go out into the world regularly. It takes more work to go places, but *I think* it's better for me. I tend to get depressed without realizing it if I stay in too much.
As to the diet, I have no experience with those. My gut says fresh cooked food is better for you in the long run, than any frozen or freeze dried meals could be. JMHO

I've got to diet too. I've gained 30lbs since I quit smoking. I'm thinking of doing low carb. Low carb is the only thing thats ever worked for me. I don't leave the house much either. I've got agoraphobia, OCD and panic disorder. When I have to leave the house, I need to take at least 10mg of valium. I know how you feel. Maybe we can all do a PIF diet together? :)

Lynlee, I've tried it, and it works, you lose weight - but you don't end up changing any habits, and the weight comes back on. Plus it's pretty expensive. And - get this - you still have to grocery shop! None of the 'fresh' items get delivered. One of the hardest things for me to do when my anxiety is high is grocery shop. What I have found that works for me is to get help - planning my menu, making a list, and going with me to the store. None of my friends and family *really* understand why I need the help sometimes, but they know I will end up eating drive-through (or would when I still could lol) if I have to face it alone, and that is just all bad. Ask someone to help you. Tell them it doesn't matter why you need help, you just do. After a few times getting it done with help, you will feel more comfortable on your own. It may seem like it is only going to get worse, but it gets better, it really does. Think of the great time you had at the vape-fest once you took that step :) Anyway, them's my two cents.

A PIF diet would be good.We could support eachother and help with food ideas!!

Here's a free online resource that I used when I first discovered I had diabetes a few years ago. It's pretty awesome and there are a lot of free tools to use.

I really think "dieting" is a mistake. If you need to make changes, you need to make changes, but don't think of it as a diet, think of it as a gift you are giving yourself so that you are healthier, happier, and feel better. Make small changes that you can live with, and never deny yourself anything. I mean sometimes you just have to have some B&J's Cherry Garcia. Moderation is the key. If you are getting what you need nutritionally, and expending energy as we all should, there's nothing wrong with a little treat now and then. The site will help you move more too.

It was really helpful to me, I was able to make the changes I needed to stay healthy (well, ok, healthier) and I learned a ton about nutrition and what your body really needs and why I craved what I craved. They have a paid version of their software to download but it's all available with a free online membership. I think they might even have forums, and/or you can share your info with others.

FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal

Remember, changes that you can live with. Anything else is setting yourself up for failure and they say Yo Yo dieting is worse for you than just being a little overweight.

What vehicle? How many miles?

2000 honda odyssey - rebuilt tranny previously covered under warranty - the problem is referred to as a "judder". the van rumbles like you're driving over rumble strips and the tachometer jumps at about 35 mph (when driving at 35, not coasting or increasing speed through 35) I was told it's because the computer has a hard time deciding whether it should change gears or not - and it will eventually chew up the tranny.

(today's "check engine" light was due them hitting the ground pin going into the co2 sensor.)

well, I got my cake done, she loved it- BUT, Rayley had cut Bow's hair, had to call in my beautician- luckly she is my cousin, and makes housecalls, we all got our ears lowered.

The friend I made the cake for happened to be headed back home through a town 50 miles away that I had to go to today, and picked up what I was going to have to buy- WHOO HOO!! saved me a trip!! :)
Got hubby from work, we headed to town, I was returning something, walked out of the store, there sits my truck, still running and hubby is nowhere in site- we were at a truck stop, so I didnt think much of it, small town, we know everyone- THEN i saw him running across the parking lot-

there was a wreck at the intersection- I knew BOTH women. One works at walmart, Ms Joyce, she was in a minivan that was hit and thrown on itsside. BR and a bunch of guys were able to help her out- she was trapped, but okay- The little car that put her on her side was driven by a lady I have known forever- she used to be my hairdresser- Her arm was gushing blood and she hurt her knee- She had sliced her arm wide open, a few inches deep- I ended up with blood all over me. We talked to the cops (know them), wrecker (know him) and a few folks at the scene, left, and I had turned off my truck before I took off after BR.

when we turned it on, it started belching white smoke- BAD- I could have cried. still could, I am scared to death- went and got a fuel filter for his truck, and to buy him a shirt for the funeral tomorrow- THEN it was off to the funeral home- It was hard. I didnt take the kids tonight- they will go tomorrow to the funeral of course, but to be honest, I knew I couldnt deal with them and my grief tonight. My truck smoked like a chimney for 3 more starts and stops- and by the time we got to the funeral home it stopped..... I am praying for it to not be messed up- I need someone to lay healing hands on it or something- :(

Then, it was home, where my computer wouldnt connect- UGGGGG after an hour and a half with tech, it just connected. LOL

Tomorrow I have to be at the community/family cemetary at 10 for a business meeting, then the church at 2 for the funeral, back to the cemetary for burial, and then back to the church to serve dinner after the funeral. I also have to vote, but luckily we vote at the church.

The other funeral I was supposed to attend tomorrow was cancled. The babies momma hasnt been released from the hospital.

NOW, I need to clean my kitchen and go to bed- I really do need to get up early tomorrow and get ready for cemetary working and dinner on the grounds. (yes, we have dinner after the business meeting- right there in the middle of the cemetary. LOL )
