OMGosh I'm in tears here laughing. Thanks - Sunday evening always sux (we call my MIL every Sunday evening and I spent the whole time biting my tongue or wishing I had (sigh))

Magnus - we have turkey vultures here - I'm high on a hill with a HUGE electric tower in view. There is an updraft and they float around on it, looking stately and slightly intimidating. Then they land on the electric tower and look downright scary - just like in your picture!

Magnus - we have turkey vultures here - I'm high on a hill with a HUGE electric tower in view. There is an updraft and they float around on it, looking stately and slightly intimidating. Then they land on the electric tower and look downright scary - just like in your picture!

Okay- you think having buzzards stare down at you is bad- just imagine if a full grow'd one was IN your house- ON PURPOSE- and THEN stuck around the yard for days-
yes- MY kids brought one IN the house. and it was VERY much alive. and THEN, when I told them to get it the hell out- they snuck it hamburger meat for days....

Go back and read again. This cult was soooooo much better than just vaping.

I can't figure it out. I count eleven right now and they don't move when I approach. One just hoped to the group and swung around my side. THAT was rather unpleasant.
I can't find anything dead, much less big enough for that many buzzards, anywhere around....
I am not going to let them around w/ Ceridwen always in the yard. Sorry, not worth the risk to me... tomorrow morning if they haven't moved on, I'm moving them on with emphasis. -Magnus

Great danes love to chase off birds. Mine always tried going after turkeys and geese. No chance of a vulture carrying one of them off!

my story about a buzzard-
I have never had them really stick around like that- But I do know from chickens, that once they find a place to roost, its pert near impossible to change their mind- You CAN try pie plates, or something that makes noise.
I dont have buzzards sticking around here much- we do have lots of chicken hawks, and crows- but they are smarter than you would think...

However, I was trying to avoid saying it but I don't intend to let the buzzards live if they don't leave. I'll start with some noise and some trimming. I'm not taking chances with my daughter. -Magnus
I was trying to avoid saying 'remember the SSS method' (shoot, shovel, shutup) chicken hawks are VERY illegal to kill here. of course, to my way of thinking my chickens should be illegal to kill as well......
Crows, not so much- but, they are hard to get a bead on...
Of course, we shoot so much that most things dont stick around just cause of the noise- LOL
From what I understand thou- a buzzard cant just fly away- they have to have a running start- so just a little lead time and you got it made
