Good morning everyone.
Hot any hazy here already. Hubby says the 5 year old may have strep throat. How does a 5 year old get strep????? Well, at least she likes going to the Dr.'s office....Poor baby has been in bed 2 days already with a fever. Dr. mom gave her lots of love.

Magnus, if you do banners your excluding a lot of people from a contest. I think only a handful of people are good with Photoshop type creativity, and though people will always try to win a nice prize(VV mod comes to mind), it would likely turn out like the latest contest by Stormy where the winner did that. You would also be excluding all the users who use cell phones and iPad type computers to compete. It may not be required to use a photoshop type entry, but reality shows such persons who do use it will win.
Maybe ask for just slogans and bar external apps so its possible for all to be judged on the same criteria?
Its your contest, but this is just a thought.
Maybe instead of actual juices, do gift certificates so people can CHOOSE what they want to order? Might make these specific so people cant sell or trade them away. Morally I think its just wrong to enter a contest and know your gonna try and profit from the prize...
Dont know if you would want to go to the trouble, but if your gonna put a lot of effort into a contest, ask vendors if they want to contribute to prizes. We do this at some dog shows to raise money- hold a raffle for donated prizes. It also lets vendors stir interest in their products. Maybe ask the modders if they want to get their stuff seen?
Just some ideas. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

First off, I hope your baby feels better and soon. :-(

The end-product of this contest, unlike my other one, is to be used to help drive people to quit smoking resources within ECF. So I want something versatile and slick. I can either pay through a competition site exclusively for designers or open up the same thing to ECFers.

I'm caught either leveling the playing field and potentially not getting what I need. Or alienating a bunch of people who don't do design. Which is one reason I do these out of pocket, so it's clear there is no commercial interest.

In terms of people profiting off the contest, that's fine by me. I can't get caught up in that shifty practice or I'd emotionally be drained.

I've got a lot of thinking to do this time. -Magnus

I thought about it a bit more and I hope this can be as inclusive as possible and still acheive my goals. Within about the same budget I had set aside.

- One "Grand Prize" for design work that fits the web, banner, and sticker criteria, this'll likely be a Vv mod. Winner to be selected by me on solely my own criteria or those I choose to consult.

- Two "Community Prize" for slogans and one-liners than can be used in conjunction w/ the Grand Prize design. To be selected primarily on community "Like" votes. Likely two 15ml bottles of nicquid each.

- Four "Voter Prizes" to be selected at random from any person who "Like"d the Grand Prize or Community Prize entries. Likely one 15ml bottle of nicquid each.

And you can enter via all three mechanisms but can only win at one. ~Something~ like that once I hammer out the details. -Magnus

Good morning :)

I am working on a cake today- and this association- I have a few people who are naysaying everything I do- Now the thing is we have the word Association in our name- and someone is saying that we cant do that. because we are a corporation. But I have found NOTHING saying we cant use it. ugggg I hate people who ONLY find the things that are 'wrong' or they are 'playing devils advocate' but will only gripe and never give you a solution or try to help.

Unless the State laws in TX are that different than FL and CT, they're wrong. You can do that, you just can't claim non-profit or exempt status.

More importantly though, you won't find naysayers of Q4MK ~here~.... I'm down-right infatuated with your enthusiasm and perkiness at life. I mean, I find it disgusting at times because I'm a Scrooge, but it's quite something to behold. Go get the day, the cake, and the detractors Lady Tiger person or something like that. -Magnus

((((awww thanks magnus))))) :) and I dont like chipper people either... ;-) LOL

thanks Mark, headed there now :)

edited- See thats where it gets a BIT confusing- we are a corporation, filed with the state of Texas AS a non profit Corporation, BUT our NAME has the word association in it. Like Tinbuctwo softball association.

I have researched it until I am blue in the face, and I cant find anything that says you cant use the WORD association in yoru name. You cant use 'profesional' 'associate' 'non profit' 'charity' 'ltd' or such IN your name- as your LEGAL business name. But I cant find anything telling me I cant use the word association IN my legal business name, even if its NOT an association by state definition, but instead is a corporation.

Never thought I'd say this, but: I can't wait for my atty's to arrive so I can get rid of this cartomizer! Who the hell am I and what did the aliens do with the "real" me?!?

I started on cartomizers because of my injuries/disability. As I've recovered I'm slowly moving back to attys. I know the feeling. Don't worry, you chose wisely. -Magnus

I think Woodville Magnus.Reo mini, the regular looks too big by RedEye. The monkey box that is long but thin is ok. Mark mods are cool, but I wouldnt want to use one in public ;) I havent held an Ali'i but that one looks the most comfortable and size perfect.
Not sure what other females think, but some box types that look small are too wide. We cant bend fingers around them easily.

It sounds like you've found Hog Heaven!! I've been a huge fan of the Boge 2.0 cartos for quite a while, but since I got the Hog Mod, I seem to have found a new love for LR attys. I'm using flavors that I haven't touched for months.

Maybe your situation is different, though:)

Question for the ladies.... those who consider yourselves to have smaller hands. What wood box Vv mod do you like best? -Magnus

Hogwart is making the smallest one I know of (though it's not out yet)...even the non VV he's making is much smaller than the other wood mods out there. I know if I ever get a VV feeder, it will be his...OR POSSIBLY the VV Ali'i because of it's shape...that might be OK for us with smaller hands too. :)
