Chit Chattin away!

well, our fires are back- we have 2 active ones right now, and every fire dept for a 50 mile radius AND the national guard, forrest service and Texas Parks adn WIldliife are out here.
Unfortunatly, the good thing is the fire. I live in a VERY small community, that is part of a slightly larger town, but we have less than 200 in our graduating classes, so we pretty much know everyone. Heck, Hubby and I are kinned to most folks around here. LOL
but a very good friend that hubby graduated with, is in our church and I just love to death, was killed in an accident that involved another very good friend of the family. I am heartbroken.
and the sad thing is, the fire is threatening both thier houses.

I just am so upset I didnt go to church this morning. I was ALL set to go, but remembered that I hadnt taken the babies carseat out of my truck and hubby was gone in my truck to help someone plow up their deer lease. So I couldnt go. I would have seen him.

sadly, the worst part is, the original fires were arson. we had a trio of fires last week, that were natural (wind picked up before a small band of thunderstroms and knocked over 3 differnt sets of poles and started 3 differnt fires) - But the ones that are really getting out of control are arson.
I am just sick- Its one thing to loose your home, even your pets, but its another when a 5 year old little girl looses her daddy. not to mention, all the fire departments that are figting these blazes are volunteer- we dont have a single paid dept. PERIOD. they leave work, they fight these fires all day and night, they go to work tired, if they can even go at all, they dont see their families and sometimes they are fighting the fires in their own backyards. literly.
Sorry to be so depressing. I went to get in my husbands truck today- and there was a box of cigarettes. A nice white box of marlboro light 100's. just sitting there. I am so disapointed. my first thought was "WHO THE HELL has been smoking in HERE?" then, I realized they were mine- I actually picked it up and thought "WOW- I cant believe these are in here!" and opened it up. Come to find out, its an empty pack I had used about a year ago to put a relay in that I went to a junk yard and bought for his truck that we had never put on. He just left it in that pack and in the console. LOL
But the fact that I was willing to smoke them is not good.

Q4MK, I'm sorry that you lost someone close to you. We all wish we could have more time with the people that we love and care about.

I'm glad that the cigarette pack was empty!
It's okay, it's not depressing, it's sad. To me, there's a difference in wallowing in your own misery and living through an experience that is really sad.
It's really special people who volunteer for such difficult jobs. My grandmother had numerous health issues, including several heart attacks and it was volunteer EMS/ fire department who got her to the hospital just in the nick of time.

Awww Q4 {{{{hugs}}}} and prayers coming. I've got no answers for you girl, nor words of wisdom. But can include Tony and his family and the poor man who was involved.
It's weird, I've randomly had this experience with VG. Sometimes I can vape 100%VG and I'm fine, other times (like now) 50% has me choking, but lower vg content won't do that to me. It's very strange. I'm now wondering if it's the different flavoring. Hmmm....maybe I just can't vape anything with "pie" in it anymore. Oh, that's going to make me cry
I believe KBV is changing the name of its Hummingbird Nectar to "Hummingbird Pie." You can go ahead and send me all of yours now, if it will make you feel better...
I just got back from looking at the Deals and Steals thread where people were slamming me because i asked if we could keep the chit chat to a minimum and see more deals posted, I dont see a problem with me posting it vs any other persons opinion that has been put in that thread. Some people go on and on, i feel the moderator should of been on top of it because the topic was getting out of hand.....talking about the same thing, its not supposed to be a chat thread. I'm pretty heated over the matter! It was a simple question, people act like im asking something that is totally unreasonable....sheesh. The link was not dead....i checked it after i posted, if it was dead thereafter must of been the V4L site.
BTW iv seen other members ask in that thread to see more deals and stuff posted. I honestly didn't and still dont think it should of been a huge deal.

I'm not sure you where slammed, it was a little to harsh though. In general we do ask members not to police, its the mods job to do so and when every other member starts doing so it creates a lot of complications.
You are right, they are not suppose to chit chat in the deals n steals thread.
But in general if your concerned about something going one it's better to PM the mods or hit the report button(yellow triangle button on the bottom of each post)

It's really not a huge deal. Just PM a mod if you feel like something needs to be looked at. We're all willing to look and help wherever we can.

I dont think it "you" they were slamming. After the first mod, it was everyone else just getting their $.02 in, and then it was a general discussion about non-mods in general making such posts. I also felt it was a tad harsh, but I really dont think you did it intentionally. I knew not to post my feeling in there though, as THAT would have been deemed chit-chat

We all know they fight for "Meanest Mod" status. XD
Don't take it personally, just take it with a grain of salt and chock it up to a lesson learned. PIF is about the family and I constantly felt my parents were out of line for the reprimands given.
Survived the hurricane with little damage (one window capping) so all in all, not too bad!
