So, the specialist was nice enough. I approve of his approach, though I'm not happy about the painful MRI, I do agree it needed to be done. The shoulder IS in the socket, there was question about that for a while there until the new xrays came back. I would have freaked out if it hadn't been. I mean, wth could I have done to get it out of the socket?? He'll call me on Monday to let me know what the next step is. He told me to cut my nic in half just in case surgery was the answer. I'm on 6mg nic...and I kinda need every mg of that to remain calm. Damn.

Does the doc know about e-cigs B? Maybe 6 mg sounded like a lot to him... Does he know most smokers start out between 24mg and 18mg? I've never heard of them telling a smoker to cut their smoking in half before surgery. :?:

There are doctors that will tell you to refrain from any nicotine several weeks prior to surgery and for another several weeks after surgery. Some doctors go as far as requring it to be zero for several months before surgery. In some cases they even do a test before hand to see if you really have no nicotine in your system.

Sounds like B's doctor is on the "less" bandwagon and not the "no" bandwagon and most likely would have told any patient that uses nicotine to cut their use in "half" prior to surgery no matter how much it currently was. Be happy for cut in half and not the none for weeks or months variety of doctor.

(((hugs))) Chelle. Stress isnt good for surgery either so just do your best and dont worry about it. Its gonna all be ok and when you are done with whatever the doctor decides to do you are going to feel SOOO much better :)

Wow I was just reading about someone getting hair in their e-juice
Makes me wonder about some of these vendors.

The hair was under the label, not in the juice. IN the juice would be an epic fail on the vendors part. Under the label...shiznit happens IMO. *shrugs* What do I know though, there's a squirrel living in my dining room

Q, in ref to your ce4's (ego Vision), the 3ohm do NOT vape like other 3ohm cartos. Try one. :)

The Dr. has to call me on Monday to let me know what the MRI shows and what needs to happen next. But yeah, lots of surgeons will make you quit nic of any kind for a period of time before they'll do surgery on you. Happened with my hips. I pretended to quit, and snuck one here and there when I could. Beth would have beat me if she knew I was doing that.

A little too forceful on the response. I appreciate pride in craftsmanship, but this was a whoops, not swift to vetch at the customers, it was not their error.

(This is someone I regularly recommend, and will continue to, but I call them as I see them.)

I haven't kept up with the detail I just directed damage control based on forum policies. I won't allow the staff to cover up for anyone (like they would- sheesh) but I do believe that suppliers have a right here to reply and either make things right or dig their own hole. I don't allow folks to go on crusades because it is BS and bad form.

If someone has a beef with a supplier by all means post a negative review, but don't spam your issue all over the forum...

Of course I'm preaching to the choir here because PIF folks are the least likely to go off the deep end and act crazy.

A girl from another thread has to have back surgery but her doc says she has to have 0 nic for x amount of time prior to surgery and after for proper healing. Nicotine is a vasoconstrictor which can have an effect on healing. That's why they like people to stop smoking/dipping prior to surgery, or at the least, reduce it considerably. My surgeon went the "no" route, but I was in a no smoking period at that time so it didn't matter. I didn't pick it back up hardcore until a few months post op when the marriage and deployments started sucking hardcore

Who is telling you these lies??
:p

(((Sarge)))

Did cw follow up on her threat? she said she was going to paste you something I told her.

We were talking about how people think I'm evil and mean because they just don't get it that sometimes people need a swift kick to set them straight. You know that I have no reservations with doing that when it is needed...

anyhow I told her that If I really was mean and evil I don't think Bianca would like me much because she's one of the softest, sweetest people I have run into on ECF. I may have compared you to Marshmallow creme...
