You guys give such great advice that I though that I'd turn here.

A friend, who is over 10 hours away, is going to give birth any minute now. I've recently learned that you should take over food or home made frozen meals to help a new mom out. (Yeah, we don't have many friends who have had babies.) They have some family nearby, but I'm not sure just how supportive these people are. I can't take stuff over. What can I do? Pre-pay for delivery and let them order when they need it? I think that they have a Jason's Deli nearby.

Well, since I'm asking...
In one conversation, she said that there might be a problem based on some of the prenatal tests and she is in a few risk groups for a special needs child. I just listen, right? Any advice, here?

We have delis here that will deliver full meals - you just order how many and when to deliver - can always be refrigerated if needed. The delis are usually deli/casual restaurants. Having a large Jewish population in Philadelphia - many, many places do this; having a number of meals delivered at the shiva house (for funerals). Typically lunch meat and cheese trays, fruit trays, dessert trays but also full meals for those immediate family members in mourning......roasted chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans, etc. I don't know if all delis do this (I don't think they do) - but I would think if there's a Jewish deli in the area, they will do it. (blocking out Friday at sunset to Saturday at sunset on delivery times.)

eGo-C Twist. Variable voltage, looks like an eGo...it IS an eGo and the thing hold voltage under load. 3.2 to 4.8 volts. :D On my list of "must have".

Ohhh must go check this out. The ego is best in pass thru mode because there is no drop off. In the car I hook it to my charger. Going to almost no nic/no nic leaves something to be desired. I'll have to look into that!

Special Needs stuff: yep. Just listen.

Food: Call the Deli place and talk to them - find out of they have gift cards! Not having to worry about meals was a blessing! Pizza works too!
