I think raising boys is worse than girls!! so, my two boys who are 12 and 13 have these 'girlfriends' - that they text and talk on the phone to-
NOW- to be fair they went to school with one of the girls from kinder to 4th grade- and I have known her family all my life-
They live out here by us, and we are friendly-
The other girl is her cousin- she was 'set up' by the 'known girl' and my 12 year old, -
NOW the girls moms have planned a 'double date' - to eat and to the movies, -
yes, again 12 and 13-
and my kids are dumbfounded as to why I wont let one of the girls step granmother come get them, take them to town, drop them at the resturant, and then at the theatre, AND then bring them home tonight-
I said no, I would drive my own- period.
UHHHH I dont know what kind of crackheads these folks are-
oh and not to be too .... prejudice, but- the 12 year old, who is 'dating' my 12 year old, (for about 4 days) has ALL over facebook "I LOVE MATT" and her signature line on her cell phone is "MRS BYERLY" and she is talking about how tonight is gonna be the best night of her life- and keeps writing about how she has to get off facebook cause she is talking to the 'most handsome and sweetest guy in the world" and uggfggggg. - and the worse part- she keeps tagging ME in her posts- OR using his nickname- and believe me, he is the ONLY person in town, or even Texas with that nickname- heck, I bet noone else in the country has that nickname-
anyhow- she was born when her mom was 14- and the chaparone on the date? neither girls mom, but instead the step grandmother who is 10 years YOUNGER than ME-
2 weeks ago my boys were 'talking' to two girls, IN shooting, who they liked- but they were not allowed to 'date' yet- I liked that MUCH better-
My kids are pretty good boys- dont get me wrong- I mean they work hard, (they get up at 5:30am and are in the pea feilds by 6am to work for about 4 hours- ) they are responsible (heck, I give them loaded weapons on a daily basis and trust them impecably), but they ARE boys- and I can prove it- I am slap out of lotion.
I just really thought that my girl would be the one to drive me batty- which is why I am training her in various weapons- maybe the boys will be too scared to date her-
Did I tell y'all she got a 20 gu over and under for her 8th birthday last week? she is IN LOVE.
So, am I just being overprotective or paranoid?

Unfortunately the younger generation of girls isn't much better
I've found that women under the age of 25 or so, just as bad as the young men of the same age. And girls are starting younger and younger .... it's not too early to worry about casual sex.....or....what the kids don't think is sex, but is....(no matter what your definition of 'is' is).
Have you had the "talk" with them yet? About responsibility and STD's?

q4 when you raise a boy you only have to worry about one penis. when you raise a girl you have to worry about them all. In no way is raising girls easier than raising boys -- trust me on this one
