Finally got around to picking up an AC for the main part of the house yesterday. 94 and humid, tomorrow due for 96 and humid. We have a unit in the bedroom, but the main great room gets miserable under really hot and humid weather.
I went for a window unit, 15100 BTU and 120V power -- convenient since we have an outlet nearby, and won't have to run a 240 circuit (I don't mind them, but if I can skip two hours of electrical I'll take it

)
Of course, we live in a log cabin, and this is a restaining year. I spent a good chunk of time doing the stain in the window area (it'll be harder to do, especially above it, once the AC is in), and building/staining the bracket for outside (log cabin = standard supports don't work, and I want a shelf where I can slide the unit out during our long, cold winters).
Hopefully I can mount the bracket/shelf and install it this evening, else wifie and the menagerie will be living in the bedroom tomorrow
If anyone needs fairly large, window mount, 120V, excellent
reviews, the frigidaire looks good.
(I'm also replacing the house windows, but will likely hold off on that one until next Spring, since the support will have to come off to remove the storm window.)
