I kind of cracks me up when they claim that the taxes is causing people to quit. Well yes , there are some that have quit or like us , found other alternatives. We are the lucky ones to go to a much healthier alternative.
Most I know just get relatives from down here to mail them up north for them or buy on the "other " market.
The states are not getting the taxes anyway, got to say , govt is none to bright.

OMG I am soooo old!!!
Cigarettes were $0.50 a pack when I started!!!!!

I'm right there with you. Cigs were $.67 a pack (out the door) when I started. And I thought THAT was expensive. LOL

Edited to add: I remember (usually on the day before payday) digging around in my car for 7 pop bottles that I could return to get ciggies. LMAO

Back in the day, my Mom would give me $5 a day for gas and lunch....I would buy a pack of smokes (sorry Mom) a few gallons of gas and have money left over for lunch!

Tee hee. I remember those days. A hot lunch at school ran about $.45. There was plenty of money left over from that five spot.
