Sallana, when we lived in St. Loois we could walk to the zoo. There was a couple one time that put the car seat on the roof on their mini van and took off down the highway! Thankfully they realized about a mile or so later and believe it or not the the car seat was still on top! You got me????? I think that the children if they survive should be taken until an evaluation is at least performed on the parents. This isn't like forgetting to turn off the stove or something here. boB

Lox.....what's the easiest way to get into a 98 ford cotour? My kid locked himself out of his car, says he tried a slim jim.....got any tricks of the trade to pass along? boB
I feel better for now. I woke up at 4 with a fever and some other unpleasant things going on. I was going to go to work, but passed out on the couch. I think I cost myself my weekend of hunting, oh well it happens. boB

Maybe when they deliver the kid there can be a test administered to the parents. If they fail I could easily find them a home. Oh, the penalty to failure is snip snip (no local) and tie tie.
We've had 2 babies dies here in the past couple of years. In both cases it was by a parent not acting in their normal routine. Heart breaking. One had just started back to school and I can't remember the other. I think the dad normally took to daycare, but the mom was suppose to that day? Both women got death threats etc. It was very ugly.

I'm not sure if this would work with a contour, but I had a lot of luck with it with my old cougar and my husband's old thunderbird. Basically you can pop the window off the track and slide it out of the way. You end up having to epoxy the window back in the track but it beats putting a brick through the window.

I was so mad one time when I was living in Wisconsin. I had locked my keys in my car... so I called a lock smith. He came, and turns out my old plymouth reliant wasn't locked, it was just frozen shut. He warmed it up and we got my keys out.... felt sooo stupid.... but I guess it happens.

baby= not at all okay.
I even hate that onstar commercial where the mom calls in because she's locked her child in the car.... I mean at least she remembered, but when I get in or out of my car, I am the last one to close my door, just in case something happens. I make sure the kids are buckled, or unblucked then I get in. I have never left the kids in the car alone. Sometimes when another adult is with me, I leave them with the adulyt, but always with the car running, A/C or heat going depending on the season. But I can't imagine forgetting your child.... I mean, how do you forget? I always do a check before I close the doors even, because they can crawl in really fast before I lock the doors, and sometimes, they're in there. but I CHECK!! how do you just space out the thing that caused you pain for 8+ hours??? expecially newborns. If you still can't walk right, there's probably a baby nearby that needs you.....

Funny running car with the baby story:
In March of 1996 son#1 and I were in a horrible car accident. Saturn meets Semi - semi wins. No one hurt except some bumps and bruises and a destroyed car seat. Ended up with a rental car. Stay the night at my parents and boy1 (19 months old)and I have to take off fairly early because we have to be in Parkersburg, WV for the closing on our new house. Hubs is already there. Anyhoo, wake up and it's snowing. This part of the country gets snow all the time. That doesn't mean we know how to 1) drive on it or 2) remove it. accidents everywhere.
I go out to warm up the car and load the toys and treats etc for the 4 hour drive. I run back in for last minute hugs and kisses and to use the potty one more time. My dad decides to help out by taking son1 to the car and strap him in - (wait for it) hits the electric door lock as he closes the door. The car was rented in Paducah, KY. We're in Cincinnati. Need to be in Parkersburg in 5 hours or it costs us $700 dollars to delay closing. (long story, great deal!) Thought my dad was going to stroke out right there in his drive way.
We think son1 'may' be able to touch the door lock - but have you ever tried to get a 19 month old to follow directions? He thought we were playing a game - wiggling our fingers at him all that. My mom calls AAA - all tow trucks are out because Cincy can't drive on white stuff. I finally go in, pick up the phone and call our old mechanic who's skill singlehandedly got my car through school - and he sent his son right over to pop the lock.
All ended well.

So I have a question: anyone concerned about vaping a butter flavor. I really really want a butter mint - but don;t know if there is any other butter flaovring being used than the diactyl whatever it was that is suspected of causing lung cancer. Of couse hubs thinks it's from inhaling the residue nut the vapor per se, but...thoughts?
