I just got a temp crown - after insurance I owed $400! for the whole thing. The good news was I was getting ready to get a couple of tires so I had the money. Have to wait on the tires, but the tooth was abscessed - I still think it's infected. That side of my face still hurts.

Yeah, I've got a crack in a filling too that they're wanting to crown. I'm doing my darnedest to wait until I have a little better dental insurance. They said as long as I'm not having sensitivity, it can probably wait a bit. Honestly, I wouldn't know what sensitivity is. I have some seriously high pain tolerance and have been known to wait entirely too long before going to the doctor.

Thank goodness my husband hasn't heard of that donut. He loves reeses peanut butter cups.

I had to restrain him from ordering the highest caloric snack one day. I think it's a peanut butter type shake at Baskin Robbins.

I was having pain from pressure, hot/cold, and sugar. They had advised me to get the crown about 2 years ago, but I put it off. I always hate the idea of dental work, but I'm glad I got it done now.

Sounds like I have 2 years then! Well, assuming it hasn't already been cracked for 2 years. Went about 4 years without dental insurance so who knows how long it's been.

Eventually all my teeth will be crowned at this rate. Personally, I'm of the mindset that I'd be better off to just pull them all now and get some implants. Evidently that's the dental care protocol though.

I tried wading through those 6 months ago when I 1st had this problem......they're a darn mess. Thanks though Mark. I know I can prolly run to St. Louis and get it done......but man.....if you only knew the conditions, I won't elaborate, but not fun, I did it once and swore I'd never do it again....might just go back on my word. boB

Amen! That's my thinking too. I can't afford teeth they're a luxury anymore. $1500 for a root canal on one??? Okay.....I'll see you when I hit the lottery.
