I'm just glad I had someone else with the same experience, Lox. Or I might have not said anything assuming it WAS me or just a fluke, and then I'd have bought more and been REALLY screwed so thank you :p

I think there may be some sort of zombie ingredient that just makes everyone say yes it's me. Yes I will steep more. Yes I'll just try again.
Don't drink (vape) the blue koolaide.

anyone here know how to fix a 5v box mod? before I ask about it in the "NEED" thread? Mine suddenly stopped working.. I rarely use it, but it's nice to have when I get the overwhelming urge for an analog..

First diagnose the problem. Look inside, are all the wires connected where they should be? Are any of them split or breaking? Is the atty connector lose?

Do you have a soldering gun?

I was trying to diagnose late last night. Went to use it the night before, wouldn't turn on, so, I did the obvious and charged the batteries. All wires are connected and none are split or breaking. Atty connector is not loose. I should note that this mod, the positive batt connectors were too recessed (? is that the right word? there's a reason I am not a mechanic lol) and I had to use small folded pieces of aluminum foil in between the battery and the connector. I changed the aluminum pieces last night and made sure that they are in there right, and they are. I took it apart a few dozen times last night. I have no soldering gun and no experience using them lol. it could be dangerous!

I ever get to the city and it aint on a weekend, Imma hit up harbor freight and PIF a bunch of meters. I'll also put up a simple vid for diagnosing.......basically you wanna start with the batts checking voltage. You'd know in 2 minutes where the problem is. Could a # of things though. You'd move from the batts to the voltage in at the reg. then the voltage out. Switch, then connector. boB
