Oh, taking a kitty would just be a bonus! I want you to visit so we can stay up late, vape, eat popcorn and chit chat/giggle like school girls on summer vacation. :)

Popcorn! You struck my weak spot! the day they make a popcorn diet, is the day I fit into a size 0! And yep, I know, popcorn isn't terrible for you.. but it is when you cook it the right way (old fashioned, on the stove, the RIGHT way) and then top with butter (not margarine, not no trans fat spread.. BUTTER).. yep, popcorn is my weakness!

So.. I drive all the way there to get a kitty.. they say they're there until six.. i was there at quarter of five.. the kids had no idea, it was to be a surprise.. guess what! they were packing up to leave.. so surprise ruined, no kitty, and disappointed kids. I'm pissy! There were some cute lil guys there, too.. :glare:

my beloved Jasmine passed away not too long ago.. we still have the brother and sister here, and I can't get a dog.. Petsmart is having an adoption drive thing this weekend. I am debating.. was really, really, really holding out for a puppy, and even though I know it's not possible, I still hold that spark of hope, like an idiot! So.. now we're debating a kitten.. just not sure what I want to do.. ahhhhh!

Personally, I'd go through petfinder.com and go right to the rescue place. The kids would probably love looking through all the pictures and such. Plus, you're going directly to the source. PetSmart used to charge rescues to show their pets there but I'm not sure if they still do.

no no.. this was the rescue place doing an adoption day at the Petsmart.. it's the locally run shelter.. less red tape than going to the shelter itself, from what I've read, but I might just go to the shelter tomorrow.. I am still annoyed with the whole thing. blah!

I am amazed they didn't unpack for you. I do a lot of work with the SD rescue centers (thus why we have 7 cats and a dog.) We help nurse the really sick ones to health. Well, when a kitten is 'supposed' to die several nights and you nurse it back to health - well, we could never give them away. So we don't take them in much anymore, I can't afford it.

Good luck tomorrow and you are doing an awesome thing!

I know I am a little behind and you are probably off the subject but I am just catching up. I just want to say I am sorry that you all get taken advantage of at times. I've watched it happen and there are times I have wanted to say "stop!, I think this person is screwing you over" but I have no proof. Just from watching and a feeling. You are all so giving it makes me very sad to see when you feel you have to stop what is your basic nature.

That probably isn't very well said but know that although there are people who will take advantage, you have helped many others who really did need help and probably could not have gone on without it.

Lucky for me, it's kitten season. the woman today said that what they had brought with them wasn't even 20% of what they have at the shelter.. but at the shelter there is so much more red tape and stuff. It's nice that they have some standards for the homes they put the cats in, but I am not looking to breed regular short haired house cats, and I already own two very spoiled siblings.. just gimme the cat and lemme go home and introduce it already! Now I get the wonderful task of naming the kitty.. I've always named mine after Disney characters.. I've had Belle, Jasmine, Beast and Chip.. time to start thinking of some names.. I am determined now...

PIF is home of the most wonderful, welcoming, gracious and giving people around.. I've been brought to tears with the generosity of the community. Take the good with the bad, and the bad seem to weed themselves out after a time, one way or another, some quicker than others, but they eventually run their course and disappear. I also think that people observe things like that :) The amount of good here overshines any darkness, we see it time and time again when someone is genuinely in a tough spot. When I need to be reminded of these things, I find the posts of Jules that she asks for trust. It restores my fuzzies

skydragon you're a part of what goes on here as well! Jules requested we not talk about the subject in any thread guys. I would like to make a request at this time though. If you see something in the future like you describe, Jules wants to know about it. Better a false alarm than someone be taken. Chances are if you see something, you're not the only one. IMO boB

I have to admit when PM2006 (thank you... if there is anything I ever can do... you let me know) recommended me to this group I was so surprised at the generosity (I still am to tell the truth) of the people here. The people here go out of there way to make people feel at home & welcome. I have said it before & will say it again .... I as well have been brought to tears by the people here. We (new people) can ask questions & even favors (which I have a real hard time with if you haven't gathered that by now) and the people here respond with an open heart & kindness!

I can't say enough about the PIF group! I hope sometime soon I can start to help others... I have been watching the threads ... waiting to see someone that I am able to help!

Thanks to all of you!

Hmm, I've got some juice here you might like. Lemme try it first and then I'll send it out to you. It's a buttered popcorn flavor. Just PM me your address.

If I feel there is something not quite right, I'll let you know boB and you can watch a little more closely and see what you think. :)

Problem is, what do you do with a person like the J name? Jules says what a person does with a PIF afterwards is their business but when you see someone like him having others putting up PIF's for him because he says he hasn't anything to use and then trading it away, is that against the rules or just bad behavior? I think it is taking advantage of peoples goodness, but is it against the rules?

The other two that just happened are outright wrong when they placed a need and did what they did. I would definitely say something if I saw that.

Hopefully what I just wrote won't go against what Jules asked since I didn't name any names.
