Good Morning! It is indeed Friday and the last day of school for the kiddos until January. Poor poor DS#1 - ended up having school today due to yesterday's snow day. Did he use the opportunity to study an extra day before the big final? NOOoooOoooOoo _ I think I may have to have Chr1s23 call him and explain how this school/study = grades thing works. Goodness knows his parents' advice falls upon a black hole

Off to work this morning, the post office and the insurance company! Apparently I can't pay my car insurance directly online and it's due tomorrow.

Hope you all can make this an awesome day!

Hello all.

OK, I admit it, I watch The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills from time to time *shame shame* Anyway, last night Allison DuBois was on (the lady the show Medium is based on) and she was smoking a Ecig. They made fun of it the whole time. What a bad way for Ecigs to make an intro on new TV.

I don't watch it...what kind of ecig did she have, or could you tell?

Ok, I'm throwing this out here cause I'm stupid and need a pep talk.
I probably fall somewhere on the aspergers/autistic spectrum and have a HARD time with chit-chatty small talk. I enjoy responding to real conversation, like books, news and people's experiences but not at all with chit-chat. If I have a response or a "role" (like a work role, like a clear social objective) I'm okay. If it's just niceties chit-chat, I shut down.
I do fine on the forum but not on the chat because of this. I raised two kids, almost a decade ago, for 4.5 years. They came to live with me at 12 and almost 16. The older girl is coming home from grad school for Christmas. I haven't seen her in a year and a half. She's going to school in Sweden for her PHD for free :) But, she's bringing her boyfriend! A new person, a new weird person. I'm kinda freaking out. I don't want him to think that I don't like him. I should just straight out ask her if she warned him about me, shouldn't I? We joking refer to me as having the ...-burgers, instead of Aspergers.

No I couldn't tell for sure. It looked like a regular cigarette. Orange light, white body brownish orange "filter" end.

Hugs Enid.

I think if you have concerns that your behavior might give the wrong impression you should talk about it with the people in question. Start with your daughter and go from there. Him knowing that you struggle with it but want to relate and build a friendship or at least a relationship of respect with him will go a long way I would think. Of course, as a counseling intern I think talking is the solution to everything so that is where I am coming from.

I am the same way with idle chit-chat. Very hard for me. Maybe ask her to try and carry most of the conversation or bring up topics you and he may have in common. That probably doesn't help much. Sorry.

DW's probably rethinking Chris as a model of what DS should do :)

I'm working on my 3rd gallon pin from the local blood bank - I got my first gallon pin while still in college because I would donate blood on Friday about every 6 weeks. Why Fridays? you ask - because then I could get drunk cheap! (never sold my blood, only donated it!) It's taken me the past 20 years to get the other 2 gallons
