here's the bureau of labor statistics for 2010-11 for Computer Software Engineers
Computer Software Engineers and Computer Programmers
Out of my college friends that are graduating this term, the first person to get a 80,000k+ offer is in Computer Informational Systems/ Website Usability.

You should speak to someone else in the computer engineer market. The offical job outlook looks good but outsourcing is occuring in the field. Outsourcing: Is It a Threat? | Engineering

This is seriously a hard world to choose a degree in. Most of my friends are back on their second degree, as the job market fell out in the first one. I hate to sound like someone should choose their choice of study just based on how much a job pays but I have sooo many friends with degrees that get them NOTHING.

Mercy had a dual degree in Physics and Math and couldn't get a job. She ended up going to Sweden because they will PAY for her to get her PHD and provide free medical care. They also hope that she stays in Sweden. She has a job in a nano lab while in school because even if she went to a Uni in the US (and paid for it) the state of funding for science labs is cut. Your future job depends so much on what type of lab research you did in college. I hate to sound dire but I have friends with PHDs working as professors at Technical Colleges for less than I made in retail in 1998.

Enid - that's why I threw it out here :) - a bit more diverse than my local mommy site! I mean you can never truly waste an education, but it should be able to provide a roof over your head and food in your belly. I want his to be able to do something he enjoys because life is just too short to have a job you hate. They really can't pay you enough to do a job you hate - at least not long term. And I've seen some of the outsourcing first hand - it's sad. I even canceled my credit card because they outsourced their call center.

Thank you for the links! I think he needs as much information as possible - and I feel my job is to help him gather the info. And I thought potty learning was hard!

Well I'm sending both headcaps in to Jay. The 5v so he can fix whatever made it stop working, and the mini headcap so he can make it a 5v regulated. You can still use the regulated 5v on the mini body at 3.7v, so if I find I don't need 2 of them in 5v I'll let you know~!
Keyzy, do your fingers get tired? That's a lotta posting! Congrats on the milestone :)

Lynlee - so you don't really want to sell your glv mini then? Glad you are finding a way to make it work! (shucks lol)

Dark, I was a single mom a couple of times in my life and it was hard but I did what I had to do. My heart goes out to all the military families and the stress they are all under. My problem is mental illness and a lot of physical disabilities. I am not sure what would happen to me now if I lost my husband.

Thank you hun, I feel like such a big baby but I don't function very well when he is here but when he is gone it is even worse. I only ate once int 2 days and had to force that.

My husband is a drag racing mechanic so he goes away alot during the racing season. At first I hated it when he was gone, then I loved it because I'd get a little private time and rent movies, get takeout, go to casino ect. But we lost our two big rottweilers, Lady and Harley, this year so now when he goes away this season, I'm going to be so scared! :( I always felt safe with my sweet "bears" to protect me.

I'm so glad your husband is home and I love your avatar!

Yes Sall is awesome, she and Lox are getting me a pretty light pink drip tip to go with my GLV-2 when I get it paid off at the end of the month. So I will be all set to show it off when it comes. PIF has been so good to me and I feel so good when I can help someone else out. This is the greatest part of the forum and I am involved in a few parts that are great as well but nothing comes close to here.
