Lois: Bag Balm. It's been my burn savior more than once. Comes in a green metal tin (old timey looking) and you can now p/up at any drugstore or pharmacy.

Just run the burn under the cd water. Pat dry. Slather up with the bag balm. Cover. And let sit. How long depends on the burn. One like that I'd leave the stuff on overnight. (use gloves) Next day: no burn. No blisters. No pain.

The stuff is disgusting. Gooey. Sticky. Stinky. Mess. And it must have some catnip in it because my cats will follow me around trying to lick it off. Great stuff tho. And one tin will last you forever.

You have to catch the burn right away tho. You can still buy some now, but it won't work as good the day after.

LOVE me some bag balm- and Ferizone- but my go to is Corona- its only avalible at the feedstores- and it would clear up my kids diaper rash before the RX would- takes the soreness out and heals you up quick!

mornin everyone- walked out on my porch last night and found one of the kids beanbags torn apart and its ALL over my porch! Even when my kids aint home, they are torturing me! It was THEIR dogs!! LOL]


Is there anything I can buy in town to put my DIY in? like that will hold it and keep it from leaking? after I mix it up? I dont have a bunch of bottles. and I am drawing a complete blank.

Sometimes dollar stores have little bottles of liquid breath freshener. After rinsing they are fine to store eliquid.

For larger bottles, hobby lobby in the arts and crafts area.

I use 5 - 6 ml dropper bottles for my in use stuff, then go to 1 & 2 ounce for mixing and bulk storage. Dollar store one ounce flavoring bottles work fine.

Thanks Leanne, Clay, Q4, going to have to check out bag balm the next time I go to the drugstore. So far though, the mustard (we used Gulden's) seems to have done the job. The blisters went down and the redness is leaving. Alex just told me that it is amazing. Who would have thunk?
BTW..he was a trooper. He finished preparing dinner with one hand while running his left hand under the cold water and even ate that way..I cut up his steak for him and topped it with the red wine and mushroom sauce he made. Even a serious burn can't get in the way of a man's appetite! Tonight he wants to attempt pork and will be scouring the net for an upscale pork dish.

Bag balm was used by farmers to heal the cow teats from the cold weather burns in the winter. It's healed boiling water poured, hot glue spilled all over, any burns. If you can't find it JLMK and I'll send you some.

Q4: you can also find bottles at Sallys Beauty Supply. I had trouble getting the mint and the cinnamon flavors out of those dollar store ones. 1:3 worked for me :/

EnJoy the bookstore! I have a Barnes and Noble 5 minutes from here and haven't been in for about a year. I used to practically live in bookstores but now suffer from what I call reader's block. I have a problem focusing on books. I spend so much time reading and working online and i think not being able to read hard copy is directly attributed to that.

I just found a great Buy Now on eBay for 1 oz bottles. 50 for about $19.

I must suffer from the same affliction I have about 3-4 books I've been reading for the past year. ha. I mainly buy magazines now, but I'm finding it difficult to even get through those!

My DD has discovered a new craze.. Japanese "graphic novels". They are like comic books in a book form, and you read them from back to front, right to left. She's a huge fan of the whole Japanese pop culture, so we are headed over in a bit. It's a 30 min drive, but if it gets her interested in books (ANY kind) I'm all for it!!

My 14yr old son loves books.He is always reading.He also just got a summer job as a mate on a fishing charter boat.Im so proud of him.He knows we are going through some hard times right now and he wants to be able to have the things he wants and have family pizza night so he is going to do it for himself.He is a great kid.He is also saving for his first car.

My son Sam loves Japanese Anime and has for several years now. He's 21 and reading the graphic novels. BTW...he's presently having all you can eat sushi with some friends right now.

Keyz, I wish my sons loved to read as I did. I lived in books as a kid. Even as an adult, before my reader's block, I would read about 5 books a week

You should be very proud of him (and I can tell you are) and he sounds like an absolutely wonderful young man.
