So, the first quote for the floor upstairs almost made me faint. Hope the next one is MUCH lower.
Did you set up more than one bid? Doing anything like reclaimed wood? Considered engineered flooring? What are you doing anyway? -Magnus

Magnus, we're doing fairly cheap wood "looking" floors in all the rooms upstairs (minus the bathrooms). We have toddlers here and a small domestic zoo...the carpet upstairs is all that's left as we already had the donwstairs done a few years ago. We haven't had the funds to do it, but Beth's parents want to buy us the floors as a gift...and well, we're sure letting them! Yes, we have a few companies coming out to give us quotes. This first one was ridiculous really.

I am currently driving myself crazy looking for a mini van to rent for vacation. DH doesn't think it's a good idea to take ours. Not sure he's wrong, but he's balking at the cost (duh) He had no idea how much they cost.
CHelle2- why dont you do it yourself? its really easy- you just have to buy the flooring- I recommend getting the more expensive flooring with a sealer already on it-
Yeah but your best bet is to call around locally and ask for specials. Those are always a better deal than the national bookings. I've found that the rental car places away from airports do the best. -Magnus
Out of left field... if you're ever renting in Europe, look for an Alamo or National location. For some reason that I forget, they rent to Americans at a ridiculously lower price than the main European rental agencies. Same cars, 1/3 - 1/2 the price. -Magnus

make sure you dont have a shorted atty killing them. Hit them with a meter if you can. I killed several batts in one day with a crap atty.
