That brought to mind an action of mine I'm not proud of. When my older son was about 3 years old, he discovered he could use his teeth as a weapon. I became so frustrated with him, timeouts didn't work, nothing worked and one day he bit me and I bit him back..not too hard but enough to hurt him. I wept afterward, but he never bit again.
Had to do that with Rhianna, too. She was getting so bad that the daycare told us they would have to expel her if it kept up.
* Nothing worked. So one day when she bit me, I bit her back. The problem stopped, for the most part. Four years later she'll still bite if she gets excited, whether it's rambunctious or angry, but she catches herself most of the time and apologizes.
* And they loved her at that daycare. They kept her in the infant room an extra year, telling us they were afraid she was so small she would end up getting bullied by the bigger kids. When they finally "graduated" her we found out the real reason--the teachers told us they were really going to miss her because she was so much help with the babies
