The good old days I'll never know! I started with AOL only after my two kids (11 and 8 at then) showed me what to do. It wasn't that I was a total computer illiterate but mostly...I cut my computer teeth on a Mac Plus back in 1987. It was easy and intuitive and as simple as signing on to AOL! lol!

TBH, it started out with Sarge calling them the Bad Old Days and I was simply trying to point out that there were some good things about them. Just turned out my "good times" seem to have a high squick-factor here...

It's too hot to bake. Maybe slice and bake on a cookie sheet placed in the car dashboard with windows closed?

The boys are dying to try and cook an egg that way.

Why not, it would be a cool "science project" that is the kind of stuff fond childhood memories are made of.

Up at 7 , pulled sheets off bed and started them in the washer.Out of the house by 7:30. at the first flea market by 8:20 then one other flea market. 4 garage sales. 2 small antique stores and 1 large antique mall. Lunch and home at 2 put sheets in the dryer. 2:30 back out to the grocery store, home by 3 put groceries away, hard boiled eggs, cut up 4 lbs of red potatoes and boiled them for potato salad and they are now cooling. 3:50 Taking a 1/2 hour break then I still have to make the potato salad and the rest of dinner, make the beds and do 2 batches of raspberry jelly before I can call it a night... anyone else exhausted yet?

I survived the visit of the out in-laws!

And we now have a 3rd car - it made the drive down no problem - even in this incredible heat!! WoOt! Just have to have it checked over by a pro and tagged and pay the taxes on it and we're good to go.

Congratulations! Your son must be ecstatic! :)

Some tv station did bake cookies on a cars dashboard a few days ago to demonstrate how hot outside it really was. :) To punctuate it, a reporter on The Today Show did try to cook eggs, pizza and baked macaroni on a Manhattan sidewalk. All eventually cooked but the eggs really looked disgusting.
