Pchela, OMG- My heart breaks for them. its so devestating.
As a fire survivor, I can tell you, yes, clothes and socks, and bras, and whatever you have lying around, that is all VERY needed. If noone else is starting a 'shopping' room you might look into getting one started with a local church. Where folks like you can go and donate what they DO have, and the victims can go 'shopping' for what they need.
if you are just wanting to bundle a few things together, I needed tweezers, a face mirror, a little makeup (sounds stupid when you just lost everything you have collected for your entire life, but I smelled like smoke, my hair was singed, I literly had nothing except a pair of sweat pants, a T shirt I got 12 years before in high school, bra and socks. Being able to shower, check for stray hairs put on some cheap but decent smelling lotion and a little mascera made me feel a little more human. )
The kids had NOTHING- ONE had on jeans, and no shirt, the other had on a shirt and no jeans.
We had no collars or leashes for our dogs, no dog food, - No diapers, - All we DID have was a carton of cigerettes (I had forgot to get them out of the truck when we bought our groceries that day), and a case of Dr Pepper. I was good- Everyone else was pretty much screwed. LOL
