The only blue county in Texas!
Thanks for all of the advice guys! The only trigger I can think of is that I ate only a slice of buttermilk pie and then didn't eat again until 9:00pm... but I've done that before with no problems. (not the buttermilk pie but not eating all day) I was also at a friends apartment all day... who knows what environmental triggers may have been there.

On a different note, does anybody know how to volunteer to help evacuees? They are at the high school next to us but the website says they only want monetary donations. We don't have any money but I could do something to help. Maybe too many people makes it too confusing which I can understand but the fire is still only 5-10% contained (or 0% according to another news source) and has damaged or destroyed 40+ houses so far. I want to help somehow!

If all they are asking for is monetary donations, then it sounds like they have enough people. One thing that comes to mind that may help out is some sort of entertainment or snacks for the younger children. Something to keep their minds off of where they are. That would not only help the kids, but the parents also.

I was thinking about dropping off some cards/boardgames. Also, the firefighters are asking for prepackaged snack foods so we can at least go buy some granola bars etc and take them to the drop off location. I just hate feeling so useless. All of these poor people, our neighbors, are losing everything right now! My daughters boyfriend/ex boyfriend (not sure on that one) lost his house and they were unable to go in and get their dog out. They were out of town when the evacuation happened. I hope somebody found the dog!

The pets are another thing to consider when trying to help out. How many people just loaded up their pet with no supplies?

Back pain sucks, so does neck pain. I've used the bio freeze and it helped. You also might want to see if your Dr will rx the pain gel Voltaren. It's my miracle worker, for reals. I apply it, at least, three times a day. The lidocaine patch seems like it would work but doesn't.

I have bad discs in my neck and back. A few years ago, Heather had to drag me by my arms up our basement stairs, then across the house and into bed. I needed help to get on and off the toilet. That was horrible.

That sucks Jordon nothing worse than back pain :(
Ever try bio freeze? Sometimes it helps me. If you want I have some sample packs the dr gave me I'll send you a few.

WTF, even with a tank around the Boge carto and slits cut in it to allow the liquid to wick in, i STILL can't get a Boge to act right from more than 2 days! Grrrrr!

Thank Hog for my Hog mod...that works just fine with ONE atomizer for weeks at a time. (really, who am I and where did the aliens take the real me...just a few months ago I HATED atomizers!)

Wow, that's too bad they don't seem to last you longer. I can usually get a week (min.) with a Boge in my tank.

I have never ever gotten a Boge to taste right after 2 days. They still work, they taste just goes off and I can't vape it anymore. Sigh. For two days it's vaping bliss though...but I'm just so sick of buying them and tossing them so soon.

Maybe you could try IKV Gold carto's? I've used a few of them in my tanks and they work good too. They may keep the flavor more to your liking.:)

Yeah, when my ex was deployed and I was in a new city where I knew no one, I literally had to climb in and out of bed and crawl to go to the bathroom.. not to mention actually getting on and off the toilet... forget about getting into the tub :(

Pchela, OMG- My heart breaks for them. its so devestating.

As a fire survivor, I can tell you, yes, clothes and socks, and bras, and whatever you have lying around, that is all VERY needed. If noone else is starting a 'shopping' room you might look into getting one started with a local church. Where folks like you can go and donate what they DO have, and the victims can go 'shopping' for what they need.

if you are just wanting to bundle a few things together, I needed tweezers, a face mirror, a little makeup (sounds stupid when you just lost everything you have collected for your entire life, but I smelled like smoke, my hair was singed, I literly had nothing except a pair of sweat pants, a T shirt I got 12 years before in high school, bra and socks. Being able to shower, check for stray hairs put on some cheap but decent smelling lotion and a little mascera made me feel a little more human. )

The kids had NOTHING- ONE had on jeans, and no shirt, the other had on a shirt and no jeans.

We had no collars or leashes for our dogs, no dog food, - No diapers, - All we DID have was a carton of cigerettes (I had forgot to get them out of the truck when we bought our groceries that day), and a case of Dr Pepper. I was good- Everyone else was pretty much screwed. LOL

Thank you Quittin! We took gatorade, water, granola bars etc to the firemen donation site and went to the high school shelter earlier today to see what was needed. We unfortunately do not have much money to give but I am going through clothes and toiletries now. I guess every little bit helps right?
